  Tow Truck!
Posted by: Evan - 03-15-2006, 02:34 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (27)

Picked up a 2006 Nissan Titan SE Kingcab tonight
[Image: 112763026_c8794f8a3f.jpg]
color: "Red Alert" Smile
[Image: 112763049_00d2ed3cdd.jpg]

For the 15 miles ive driven it so far I love it. Rides great, handles fantastic for a truck, great interior and amenities (amenities, whats that?!!!) and even at low RPMs partial throttle it sounds MEAN Smile
Only gripe so far is that it has the "titanium" interior instead of the "steel" interior. I didnt even know this was an option until I got home and I realized it. No big deal though, other than that its the EXACT truck that I wanted, and the dealer got it for me in 1 day. And I have a feeling the titanium color scheme will grow on me where the cheesy plastic wannabe aluminum will probably look dated pretty quickly.

Options are:
-Popular package (they force you to get this) which includes stuff like autodimming mirror, electric seats, homelink, compass/thermometer, backup sensors and steering wheel audio.
-Towing package (or course). class 4 hitch, wiring, big battery, trans temp gauge, tow mirrors, and lower final drive. (no mention of trans cooler though, i wonder if those are already standard?)
-Traction Package. -- LSD and tow hooks
-Utility Bed package -- (very cool) sprayon bedliner, modular utilitrack system, lockbox in bed

I got a great deal because my company does Nissan's website, and as a "business associate" we get the "VPP" employee pricing plan on nissans and infinitis

More pics and info tomorrow when its light out.

I now have 3 cars with a total displacement 5.8L, and 1 truck with a displacement of 5.6L

By this time next week I'll be on my way to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas.

If everything goes right I'll graduate basic military training May 5th and transition into my tech schooling.

Anyway, my moratorium on posting will be brief in the grand scheme of things but I'll still miss the discussions and the debates waged on this forum while at bmt and the very first few months of my long journey into becoming an apprentice airborne cryptologic linguist.

Don't fret too much; I'll be back in a few years (hopefully not sooner than planned).

PS: Evolution VIII, 350z or 03/04 Cobra? I don't know what to blow that govt paycheck on.

A little follow up on Jack's

made me a little curious. This includes bicycles and wheel-ed objects, but not shoes/feet/toes, etc Tongue Basically anything that you could use to class/school/work?

This is also currently, not in the past. Oh yeah, cars that don't run don't count Tongue You must own the object or be the primary care taker of it.

Thought this might be interesting to take a poll of the club. If you have more than one... suck it up.

Could we make an emoticon reserved for Feersty's posts.
I feel like the comic book guy saying ÔÇ£ThereÔÇÖs no emoticon that . . .ÔÇØ when I read his responses. Maybe some sort of modified :?: Not only would it be funny but better represent where we are. I feel like I've moved past the :?: to some sort of other realm of emotion that as of yet, not been accurately represented by the :?:

Is CMP worth a 6 hour drive?

I think I'm going to go if for no other reason than to experience a new track. Who is going (working or driving)?

I'll have at least two comfortable spots in my truck if someone wants a ride. If Alison doesn't go, I'll have 3 spots and happy to share. Depending on your desired comfort level, my truck can seat 6 with belts including the driver, if more need rides I'll let yall duke it out ;-).

  FS: Inexpensive car ramps
Posted by: PDenbigh - 03-14-2006, 09:02 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (6)

And not the kind of ramps one can use to jump their car Hazzard style.

I got these hoping to make changing the oil in my vehicles easier. Well, the XR sits too low and the truck weighs too much (never tried, just read). So, they are in my small garage taking up valuable space, so I will sell them to an MM'er for $20.

They are like this picture, only yellow and one piece in the back-top corner:

$20, first come first serve, pickup only. I would like to have them out of my garage this week.

For a FWD or AWD car they'd be awesome for oil changes or whatnot. My RWD's lower front bumper hits it and then just pushes them around.

Hit me up with questions.

Pete

  So...i decided on my bike...
Posted by: Sijray21 - 03-13-2006, 11:26 PM - Forum: Motorcycles - Replies (21)

I bought this bike earlier today and rode it home from Silver Spring. I LOVE this thing. 1500 miles and not a scratch on her. She was laid down gently on grass - small cracked fairing, but the owner used bondo and painted the part ( i would have never guess it if he didn't point it out ).

This bike has on right now a yellow/chrome windshield and is lowered 1". The puchase came with a Brand New Dunlop rear tire (the one on the bike is plugged), original windshield, original Dogbone (rear ride height), tank bag, and a bunch of tools/screws/etc. The seller was very honest about things and was very sad to see the bike go. I assured him that i will take great care of this bike.
