Cortech Saddle & Tail Bags

Pretty much brand new. They've been collecting dust for years, and won't even work with the Ducati, so they need to go.

Rota Slipstreams mounted with Kumho V-710's
Posted by: rschumin - 04-24-2011, 02:31 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (2)

I have 4 Rota Slipstreams mounted with Kumho V-710's for sale.

Here are the particulars

Wheels
16 X 6.5
et +45
56.1 mm centerbore
4X100
13 lbs
white with clear coat

Tires
Kumho V-710
215/40 R16
My guess is that they have 5 or 6 events left in them.

I used these wheels for 5 seasons so they have that race worn patina of nicks and scratches from cone hits and mounting of tires. You can look at the pictures.

I know they fit Mini's and they might fit some 90's Hondas and Acuras.

I'd like to get $400 for the set.

PM me if interested

Ray

So I never went to JMU and the only reason I found out about this site is because of Jeff. Everybody seemed cool as hell and when I first joined up Jeff was balls deep in his XJ build and I had pretty much finished with my 07 JK (it was on 35's :bootyshake: )
[Image: 39989_420117410665_691800665_5377343_4111685_n.jpg]

Well at the end of 2010 my wife and I wanted to start a family which meant...the Jeep that I had poured more blood, sweat, tears, and cussing into had to go. Between no back seat 4" lift, 35's and 12 mpg it just wasn't practical for a DD/Baby carrier. So I went on the search for something that I could fit a family into, would last a while, and fit my size (6'4" 250lbs). I also planned on having another Jeep in the near future so I wanted something I could tow with for trips to Rausch Creek Pa and the OBX. I narrowed my search down to Dodge 3/4-1 tons with a Cummins power plant. On December 30th I bought a 2007 Inferno Red Dodge 2500 STL Crew Cab with the 6.7L Cummins and the 6spd A/T. Of course Jeff was not pleased that I didn't buy from him but the deal was to go to pass up and I walked out with a vehicle with 15K less miles and a whole lot more ass.

I love this truck, IÔÇÖm averaging anywhere between 16-21.5 mpg I can fit in the driver seat and still have room for at least Anne to sit in the back seat. Plus I have a solid truck that should last me around 150K miles. There are no major plans for the truck at least till the warranty goes bye bye, and then it might get a breathing upgrade as well as some new programming to give her a little extra spunk.
Well soon after the search was on for another Jeep. I really had no idea what I wanted, but I didnÔÇÖt want the typical ÔÇ£universalÔÇØ Jeep. I was really looking into the old FSJ Cherokee Chiefs in the mid 70ÔÇÖs range. Then I was working overtime one day in Lovettsville Va. when I was informed that their old brush unit was going up for sealed bid. So for sh*ts and giggles I put in a low ball offer and forgot all about it. Then I received a phone call one night that I had the highest bid and that the unit was mine if I still wanted it.

 Computer components - Hard drives
Posted by: Maengelito - 04-22-2011, 09:50 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (15)

Hey MM
So lets say hypothetically you have $175 to blow on an external hard drive. Things it needs in order of importance:
-lots of space (I think for $175, we're talking about 2TB+?)
-high quality drive (so it won't crap out on me 2 years down the road)
-portability

I don't know if these things even matter anymore between manufacturers or which companies are considered high quality these days so I figured I'd ask the collective and very opinionated wisdom of MM.

$175, go!

 Project Home Renovation

Well we closed on the house today. As some of you know I'm a little handier around a house than I am a car and I love working on homes and property. So we bought a house in need of some updating. We got it for about $30k less than the average homes in the neighborhood and we plan to sink about 8k into it. We are saving a TON by me doing all the labor myself.

Specs:
Built: 1976
1600 finished sq.ft.
2 car drive under garage
3 bedrooms
2 baths
~.4 acres

Purchased today:
White tile, underlay and grout for the bathrooms
Tan ceramic tile for the kitchen
Classic Butterscotch laminate wood flooring with backing already attached
All new light oak cabinets
Paint for every room
Black range/oven, fridge (present from mom), dishwasher, microwave

I purchased about 3/4 of an acre of chain link fence, posts, gates and caps from my neighbor for $100. Scored a free riding lawn mower from my cousin earlier this week too. We will fence in the rest of the back yard in a month or so.

Our timetable is this: Rip out carpet, screw in subflooring to eliminate squeeking, and paint friday and saturday. Lay flooring sunday, monday and tuesday while Samantha paints. Move all our furniture in next weekend. Sew grass seed next weekend in bare spots in yard. Two weeks from now my friend Tim and I are going to lay all the tile in bathrooms and remove old cabinets/hang new cabinets 2 weekends from now. We still have to figure out which countertops and sink we want, but we've got a pretty good idea. After we install the cabinets we will cut and lay all the tile in the kitchen.

After that it will just be small projects, removing old heater controls, removing heater from master bath and installing fan, finishing the basement, etc.

On to the pics of the classic 70s home:

Who has or had a black Ford Focus?
Posted by: Chris - 04-21-2011, 09:42 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (8)

I was on 495 North coming home from work today, and passed a black Ford Focus with an MM sticker on the driver's side window. I slowed down and matched speed, and had to honk to get the guy's attention. I held up the MM gang sign, and was looked at like I was crazy!

So could this be Rex and Julie's old car? Someone new I don't know?!

Fast Five Movie Premiere! - Friday, April 29 @ 8 PM
Posted by: Jake - 04-21-2011, 11:29 AM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (5)

Because it wouldn't be a Fast & Furious movie premiere without MM present...

It's the fifth edition of what is arguably the best worst car-related movie series... in the world. The gang goes to Brazil this time. Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will be in it, and apparently there are matte-black Dodge Chargers, so you know it'll be good.

Let's all take a study break, get together and watch this thing. Get tickets to the 8 PM showing on Fandango (enter zip code 22801) at this link:

http://www.fandango.com/fastfive_131565/movieoverview?date=4%2F29%2F2011

We can meet at the Rockingham lot and cruise across town en masse. Hard parking is encouraged as are neonzz. Leave the hoonery and jackassery to the rednecks in the lifted diesel trucks, as we experienced with F&F 4.

Let's do this.

Facebook event for this is here. We invited MMers in Harrisonburg, but all are welcome!

For you college students - Big Screen TV!
Posted by: Ken - 04-20-2011, 08:27 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (3)

Hey guys, not sure how many of you have seen it, but I'm selling the big screen TV that was in my apartment this year. It's a 46" Toshiba DLP projection, with a max resolution of 1080i. It has served me well for several years both here and at home. The only reason it wound up here is that it was too wide for my mom's new set up and home so she bought an LCD. I know in other threads DLP's have taken a hit but I honestly think this TV puts out a great picture, especially when i was using it for 360 and even blu-ray.

Model#: 46HM84

Pros:
Perfect College TV - Taken a beating and still puts out a great picture.
1080i and 46 inches
Pretty loud built in speakers (Tested them once, i always had an external sound system so they're pretty much virgin speakers, but they did play clearly and loudly)

Cons:
Slight mark on the bottom left from when a drunk bitty spilled beer/hopskip on it. Doesn't really affect viewing at all though IMO
Only one HDMI input, although you could use an extender or whatever but i never found it to be an issue
Bulb is currently dead. I will replace it but it will cost more if I do. I will provide information on what the bulb is and the cheapest place to buy it.

Price:
$200.00 w/o me replacing bulb
$320.00 w/ me replacing bulb

Pics soon, but here is what it pretty much looks like

 DIY underbraces?
Posted by: l33t Mr2 - 04-20-2011, 01:54 AM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (7)

hello everyone,

I was toying with the idea of building my own subraces for a 2nd gen mr2. The aftermarket selection seems very under designed. Their designs (tanabe and UR) have some supports going to a radiator support that is very thing. Does anyone on this forum have experience building them? I am just looking for tips and suggestions.

Thanks!
