Thus far, I have always used one of those small 2-ton "pack it in a case" floorjacks. In my old age I am starting to hate dragging that thing out, and the short handle. What brand do you guys use ? Anyone have an extra one they want to sell?

Since a lot of you all work on various contracts for the government, or other organizations I thought I would make a post here.

Lately my mind has been wandering on going out on my own to find work, but I am not exactly sure where to start looking. Have any of you ever explored this before, or known anyone who did?

This all started last year when I switched jobs. I brought some work in the door to my current company. This was complicated as shit on our side, and eventually went to the wayside. A few months ago, some more related work comes in the door via a co-worker. I am the one for the job. I write up the proposal , get everything ready to go, and once again our contracts department bungles the delivery of the proposal materials, delivering an incomplete package that cost us the conrtract. I believe the denial email read "We liked what was written here, but a full evaluation cannot be completed because of X, Y, Z missing, and we are going to down-select to another bidder"

So all of this has left a bitter taste in my mouth that two contracts worth over a year of work and at least a few hundred thousand dollars has gotten bungled. These projects were actually projects I'd want to work on, as well.

Because of this I have been having serious thoughts on trying to start my own (LLC, corp, what?) and going for some contracts on my own. Of course the first line is reaching back with contacts I have in industry and going from there, but where else do you look? I am not all that familiar with much of the process, but I know somewhat about various aspects of what is expected as part of actually submitting the proposal. I know next to nothing about the legal aspects of creating the actual contract after winning, etc .

So, I'm posting this just to see if I can get rid of some tires before because they're taking up way to much space in my garage. I have:

Two BF Goodrich G Force T/A KDW 225/45 zr 17 with about 70% of tread left (100 for both OBO)
Two BF Goodrich Force T/A KDW 245/40 zr 17 ( bald) for free

Two Blizzaks 225/45/17 basically new. I ran these for a few months and swapped them out for some summer tires. (150 for both OBO)
Two blizzaks 245/40/ zr 17 that won't pass inspection. Stupid alignment issues, I don't wanna talk about it

Here's the deal with the blizzaks:

The Blizzaks are mounted to my DSII's which are in pretty good shape with some curbing. A fifth DSII spare is mounted with a Michelin Pilot. If you want the DSII's with the blizzaks for some nice winter weather wheels I'd sell the whole set for $650 buckaroos.

If you just want the rears, just pay to get the tire taken off the wheel and you can have the thing. I have no use for it.

All of this is negotiable.

Place: 14 Foxhall Lane, Weyers Cave. Clicky-POW! (We're real easy to get to.) PLEASE NOTE, For those of you that are retarded, we don't live in northern Virginia anymore. We've moved to Weyers Cave. WHICH MEANS, Current Students: You have NO EXCUSES to not be here.

What do bring:
Unknown at this time. We'll take care of the 'main course'. Burgers and brats. We'll also have some beers, but there will probably be a need for additional beer.

Parking? There will be some. Probably a good idea to carpool.

Can you crash? Damn skippy. We've got a futon, and a guest bed, and (probably by then) some bunk beds and a couch and lots of floorspace.

More details to come, but I want to make sure everyone had it on their calendars.

Update August 10!

Seeing as it is ¡Fiesta en Fuego!, we are going with a latin themed menu. Namely, Tacos de Pollo, Margaritas, chips, and some salsa. Now, what that does do is leave the grill open for anything anybody wants to bring. The world is your oyster.

Sadly, since I no longer work for Progeny, I do not have a Slushie machine. To rent one from Rockingham Rent-All is prohibitively expensive, so we'll just have to make do.

For beverages I've got 3 bottles of margarita mix, which probably won't be enough. I'll probably buy a suitcase or two of lager, and I'll have some water. Other than that, you're on our own for quenching your thirst.

Ok folks. This thing is right around the corner. Can you guys post some shit that you're gonna bring? 7 layer dip? Bacon Assplosion? Beer? Windowmakers? Stuffed Serranos? Bacon wrapped bacon? Whatever, just post some shit.

Also, we have some sleep spots:
Room 1: 2 twin beds
Room 2: 1 Queen Bed
Room 3: 1 "Full" futon
Room 4: Couch
Room 4: Lots of space on the floor.
Front yard: Plenty of space for passing out.

So if you're going to stay, you are mooooooooore than welcome, but you've gotta let me know.

ZOMG. 2 days.

So here's the parking sitiation:

There's a cul-de-sac off of brendan lane that you can park and walk (designated by red line) behind the church to my back yard. You can also park in my front yard, and my neighbor to the north is unoccupied, so you can park there also. So the cul-de-sac is just for overflow, should we need it.
