One other good thing about coming home to the armpit of NJ besides detailing.....living 15 minutes away from BMW HQ of North America. I grew up watching spy cars from BMW ripping it up and down the turnpike and public roads.

So previews for top gear america looked promising for the new season. Of course, it wouldn't be top gear top gear but maybe an interesting show anyways. Watched part of it and all I can say is wtf. A show branded as top gear has an e30 and a miata in the same episode and it wasn't even good.

Let's start with a forced feel rather than a flow like british top gear. Everything is like a monologue and nothing sounds like they arn't reading from a script. They completley stole british top gear's run into may thing but they run into each other but that as well is forced and looks like he is trying to do it just to be like british top gear.

Then the raw BS, I'm no expert but I've spread mulch many times in my life and seen a mulch yard where you pick it up from. Mulch smells but not horrible....the guys say they are loading their cars up with manuer or shit as they constantly refer to it...any manue I have seen looks like top soil and is a dark color. Ok so there may be different grades or whatever but why does their "manuer" look exactly like mulch and have dust blow off exactly like mulch and they pick it up from a mulch yard they I didn't see any pure manuer type substances around. Yes mulch may contain some manuer in it but I have spread lots of mulch that looks like what they get and have never dry heaved or bitched and moaned about it. (And those who know me, know I like to bitch and moan). I can only hope this is the final season of american top gear and history gives all the money they spent to british top gear and brodcast it on history channel rather than.

Sorry watchin as I type and they are seriously stupid, they said to test the carrying capacity of their "farm trucks" and they said minus manufacturers weight from scaled weight, the retarded dude adam cut half his roof off..I wonder if that would effect the weight or anything but hey what do I know.

I have given it 3 tries over two seasons, I believe this will be my last. British top gear for the win...american top gear for the loss or the retarded society we cater to.

Client this past week brought me his wife's 2005 SLK 55 AMG for a one-step correction along with a full basic interior/ exterior treatment with a Paint Sealant application to finish it off.
The client had seen my previous work on the brilliant black Audi S4 Avant I had recently done this week as well and has also scheduled his other Mercedes for the same treatment in the future.

After fully claying the car the 2-bucket wash process was repeated, the car was dried and brought underneath the shade and put under my halogens for inspection.

The front bumper had recently been re-painted and the owner was dissapointed in how the shop finished down the front, Luckily I knew it would be an easy fix.
Sanding marks galore.....and of course one section was even burned through..........pat on the back to the guys in the body shop hauling the rotary around :vomit: The sections still burdened with sanding marks were so evident that even from ten feet away you could see the color difference.

WOW! What on earth is that? Well young man, those are some good, old fashioned piece of shit wheels. Wow, really?! Where can I find some piece of shit wheels for myself? Well, I believe its your lucky day, because these pieces of shit could be your very own!

What are they, you ask? I have no idea, some 14" off brand, heavy ass half chrome, half plastic wheels. The tires are 185mm two of them are actually in pretty good condition, two of them some idiot just let pass inspection, but I wouldn't trust them very much... at all.

Why might you actually want to buy them? Beats me, if you just need a roller set for your hondar or miata they'll hold air and keep the car upright, but other than that they aren't good for much. They're hideously ugly, have terrifying tires and have the mass of a thousand dying suns.

Another reason you want to buy them? Cause they're cheap as crap. Gimme $30 and they're yours. Or, if you have something I want valued at approximately $30, take em home. Acceptable trade items would be miata lug nuts, a good case of beer, a tool I don't have, a small piece of furniture, a miata shift knob, a clean 3" mouth air filter, or a couple of nice steaks.

Go ahead, make me an offer, I'll probably accept it.

The last couple of months I've kinda been grappling with whether I should switch up my vehicle lineup, and it got me to thinking about what I wanna be doing 2-5 years down the line. In the short term I may need to downgrade so I can buy a house but after that I'm thinking my next sports car will be one of the following:

Cayman S: Relatively light, mid-engined rear wheel drive, good power
Toyobaru: Cheap, relatively light, RWD, can swap a WRX engine in
M3 sedan: Fast, practical, can still be a family car
Next gen WRX: ???
360: In a few years they'll be a bit cheaper and I'll be making more money, why not? Other than the maintenance and the possibility of it catching on fire...
996/997 GT3: Again they'll be cheaper in the future, less flammable than the Ferrari

What's on your mind for the medium term future?

Give me your thoughts. Email is a great tool for business communication:
-Allows you to carry on a conversation with multiple people without any of them being available at the same time
-Allows you to organize your thoughts, questions, and get what you want out there, the way you meant to say it
-Gives you a searchable paper trail for your communications
-Allows for document transfer, supporting attachments

So when I get an email from someone in my company, I will read it. If they took the time to write it and thought I might care, I will at least scan over it and see what's relevant to me. Sure, I might be busy, and not read it 'till the end of the day, but I'll look at it. I owe my co-workers that. Certainly for a client email too.

SO WHY then, if someone has been using computers and email every day for 10+ years in business, would they not do the same? Why, when I take 30 min to hash something out, organize my thoughts, present a sorted list of questions, thoughts, answers, whatever, would someone read like the first line, then answer to the whole group, ignoring the bulk of equally relevant content, and make themselves look foolish, wasting everyone's time and forcing me to ask again or call them and read the damn email to them?

AND WHY would they still make rookie mistakes, like not looking at the distribution list to see who they're talking to, if they've accidentally attached a client, or their boss? Not looking at the inline conversation content before they go forwarding it to someone who shouldn't see it?

I'd like to hear your experiences. Or maybe you suck at email too and have a defense? Now, it's *mostly* people a older than me of course, but not old enough that it's an excuse (I'm not talking about your Grandma here). Email is NOT new. I just wonder what I would do, how I would interpret such ignorance, in a technology related company, if I were in charge of a well paid, salaried employee who couldn't use this tool correctly? I'd treat it as if they couldn't use the phone. Or a light switch. Is it inappropriate to interpret a lack of understanding of basic tools as a lack of intelligence? I think I would just have to fire them. :dunno:
