Well, it's not to the point I'd like it to be, but can't have it sitting around all winter so spread the word. On forums for $4200 but howbout $3500 to MM?
stolen from http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=337102 so you can keep an eye on how bad they rip it there.
Here’s all the bad I know.
- Odometer is stopped at 145997, per the previous owner that happened about 2 years ago, (autocheck i got when purchased seems to reflect this) she was a college student and didn't drive it much outside of JMU to home in DC, we would guess it's coming up on 155-157k?
- The dash has cracks.
- The lcd screen for the OBC is not working.
- The radio is aftermarket and currently doesn't have power. (i haven't tried to fix that, I’d put a stock unit back in if i were going to keep it)
- The front valance is dented back a bit, it looks like the PO had bumped it into one of those parking space barricades, it's pushed in and the lower spoiler was missing when i got it. I haven't tried to pull/straighten it out yet. I did buy a new lower spoiler to go on.
- Rear bumper has a chip missing in the corner by the driver side wheel, see photos.
- Mirror housings need to be repainted
- The battery is pretty shot, should be replaced. (lasted me about a week of sitting in the garage after a charge)
The good
- The car was sold new in Philly, then went down to DC, so not really exposed to harsh salt.
- The car has a current VA inspection from July 2014. The passenger side control arm was replaced as part of the inspection.
- T-stat/water pump and radiator new within the last year. Car did get hot quickly when i bought it, didn't seem like coolant was flowing, so replaced the t-stat, few system flushes and bleeds and all seems well. (aka heater started working again also)
- Found/fixed various vacuum leaks.
- Oil was changed on 10/8/14.
- Interior is in very good condition, driver seat has two cracks in the bolsters, but not full rips.
- Tires are just some all seasons, but tons of tread. I'll get depth and mfg date later.
It's not perfect, but I think it's pretty solid starting place as a project or just to enjoy as is. I'm not real experienced in the e30 platform/common problems, so please let me know if you have any questions or want info/pics of a specific area.
Link to autocheck i had gotten. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3SbPcN...sp=sharing

I'll admit it is pretty silly but [clarkson]POWEEERRRR[/clarkson] is always a good thing! We ordered one yesterday for a customer so I am pretty stoked to see/drive the thing when/if we get it. They aren't even promising sold orders at this point. So many were ordered it closed in one day so we are pretty late to the table. I expect a stock order to get bumped for our sold but we will see.

I'm thinking about buying a car. I don't really need a car, but I'm in the (un)fortunate position of having one car the wife and I share and a second car that probably shouldn't be driven as much as I drive it. Namely, it's likely worth double what I paid for it, it's manual everything (including steering - think parallel parking in a very hilly city), there are no appreciable safety features, it doesn't have any meaningful defogging system in a moist city, and it gets 12 mpg. I split my commute 50/50 between bus and driving and end up driving it 2-3x/week with trips to work, doctors appointments, and visits to the gym.
My requirements:
>Two seats; not necessarily four
>Enough storage space for a suitcase
>Cheap - $12k is good, $10k is better, $8k is great
>Absolutely zero maintenance, other than oil changes
>Small footprint
>Not a piece of shit
>Something I won't hate every single day
Some things I've been kicking around:

Hey everyone! As of now, I assume most everyone has muted the MM Facebook chat, so I'll make a thread. Scott had a good idea of a last minute chill night on Friday. So everyone is welcome to come to my house at 502 Snowberry lane in Copper. If you get here before 9, there will definitely be parking for everyone. I may or may not provide snacks and it's BYOB.
If anyone wants to bring meat, I have the rest of the stuff for burgers (for like 5 people) and I'll grill it up.
Otherwise
- 502 Snowberry Lane, Copper Beech
- 9-ish on Friday night (Visitor parking is 50 feet from my house with "VISITOR" painted in the spots)
- BYOB
- TopGear on Netflix (or Disney movies)
Who knows what we'll do after. Maybe we'll go to some raging party, or we could all just cuddle.

| Is the "car culture" dying? |

The following is an excerpt from a Time.com click bait piece I was reading while watching the Service desk over lunch. The article was "10 Things Millennials Won't Spend Money On."
Quote:Back when the Beach Boys wrote Little Deuce Coupe in 1963, there was a whole genre called “Car Songs.” Nowadays you’d be hard pressed to find someone under 35 who knows what a “competition clutch with the four on the floor” even means.
The sad fact is that American car culture is dying a slow death. Yahoo Finance reports the percentage of 16-to-24-year-olds with a driver’s license has plummeted since 1997 and is now below 70% for the first time since Little Deuce Coupe’s release. According to the Atlantic, “In 2010, adults between the ages of 21 and 34 bought just 27 percent of all new vehicles sold in America, down from the peak of 38 percent in 1985.”

There's one final NASA weekend for the year... to all you students who didn't come to VIR because it was too far, or couldn't commit to a full weekend trip - this is the event for you!
When: November 8 & 9
Where: Summit Point, which is about an hour from JMU so you have no excuses for even a day trip
What: Time Trials and HPDEs and Hyperdrives. Hyperdrives are full, HPDE may be open. No racing, which means more track time for TT and DE and thus, more opportunities to grab some ride-alongs either day.
Also, on Sunday, we will have lunch laps to honor a NASA instructor/TTer who tragically left us years ago behind the wheel of his S2000. Minimum donation is (I think) $20 and all money goes to the Cale Kastanek scholarship fund at Embry Riddle University in Florida - donate $20 in memory of Cale and put your car on track for some laps behind the pace car. All cars/trucks/vans are welcome for these laps as they will not be tremendously fast (highway speed at the most).
See you there! I'll be Chief of Pace for the weekend while also TTing.

Hey, I'm Josh and I finally made the leap to join the forums this year. I am a sophomore Intelligence Analysis Major, East Asian Studies Minor focused on Chinese. I actually joined MM in my freshman year, as I was (and still am, I know I know) a home commuter. I actually live in Weyers Cave, 15 minutes south of Harrisonburg.
I originally got a 2005 Suzuki GS500F as my first bike in August of 2013, and drove a '99 Honda Accord as backup. The Accord was rear-ended over this past summer, and was totaled. This was replaced with a 2009 Mazda 3. After getting bored of the 500 from commuting on it for so long, I sold it for my current ride, a shiny piano black immaculate and perfect in every way 2005 R6 Raven, which I love dearly As of a few days ago I have put around 4000 miles on it in the roughly 5 months I have had it, using it as a commuter to both work and school just about every chance I get. After going to VIR, my aspiration is now to track my bike and just get involved in that scene big-time. Hope to meet more of you alumni at some point in the future.

So.... I had to wait until they'd told their families, but Kaan and Sylvia got hitched on Saturday. They eloped in Natural Bridge, VA, Rex's mom did the honors of marrying them off. Be sure to bring them lots of wedding gifts at Turducken since they have forced Rex and I to keep this a secret for many, many months, and they would never expect anything from their friends in the way of gifts, and.... we weren't allowed to attend the wedding either.
