  Shakespeare Free for all
Posted by: damnit458 - 06-01-2005, 11:02 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (14)

This was alluded to in the ballgame thread. The shakespeare theatre company is putting on a free play (A Midsummer Night's Dream) at the carter barron amphitheatre (spelling =-0) at rockridge(?) park. I went with a few people I work with yesterday after work, and it was well worth the time. I had a great time, and the play was very well put together (it helps that it was also a beautiful night. Anyway, its a great place to go and eat dinner at, and then do something fun the rest of the night (AND ITS FREE  ).

I highly suggest it. If you do decide to go, they start seating ppl at 7:10 (as stated in the link) but lines form about half an hour before hand. It still wasnt hard to get good seats, but just incase you want to be as close as possible. It lasts about three hours (we got out at 10:30).

That's just sad. Race in another series where the driver weight isn't as much of an issue or lose some wieght. What a moron. Whoever was the first person he said this to should have slapped the shit out of him before it got out to the press

9:22:21 AM (Working Lap 1) ÔÇô GREEN. No. 73 (pole) moves as lights go on and stops. Multiple cars involved in incident at turn one. No. 10 Pilla, No. 74 Crescentini, No. 22 Stewart, No. 48 Herr and No. 26 Flynn sustain major damage. No. 99 McKee is in the grass but continues. No. 49 Peterson is stopped as well. No. 34 Esayian sustains minor damage. Full course YELLOW.

Sorry, haven't found a pic to accompany yet, but it was retarded Confusedhock: Worst start EVER. At least a few more not listed above went out a lap or two later from damage.

Fortunatly my Bimmerworld boyz made it through unscathed, James and Seth took 9th and 10th, Matt was as high as 7th, but a wheel fell off with 2 laps to go. Sad

Looks like they're rebroadcasting on the 20th

  Transmission Question
Posted by: Drewe30e - 05-31-2005, 09:29 AM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (16)

The transmission in my e30 is starting to act weird. Just in the past few weeks my tranny is grinding in my fourth gear. Now it doesn't just grind right when I put it into gear as if the synchronizers are bad. It grinds after I've shifted and I release the clutch. So I've been searching around for answers and some techs have told me its the synchronizers and others mention that it could be something wrong with the linkages in my shifter. I feel like it could be the latter because when I shift into fourth, it feels as if it hasn't gone in all the way (it doesn't have two small notches from neutral to the gear like all others).

What do you guys think could be the problem?

  Finally bought a bike
Posted by: JohnC - 05-31-2005, 09:25 AM - Forum: Motorcycles - Replies (21)

As many of you already know, I bought Rob's old Ninja 500R. It's in "ok" shape, I spent yesterday afternoon trying to repair the front plastic with epoxy - seems to be holding pretty well, it just looks ugly  I spent about 10 minutes trying to be neat about it, then I accidentally got some on my hand, then I grabbed a piece of bodywork, then I gave up and decided that eventually the whole front will be ghetto-painted anyhow, so what do I care.

After fixing the plastics, my next project will be lining the thing up - Any tips/tricks I should know about aligning a bike? The front end pulls *slightly* to the right, once per wheel revolution. I'm going to take the wheel off and see if it's straight. No flat spots or chunks missing from the tire. Front forks *might* be uneven, not sure as I haven't accurately measured it yet...

Pictures soon.

To get you ready for 2 weeks from now, I give you...

Pics from Shenadoah @ Summit Point!

You guys missed a great Car Guys event. You get tons of track time and a track pretty much to yourself. I had an instructor, Jerry Chan, from what I understand he instructs the instructors for NASA Confusedhock:

(So it rained a little bit, track was only wet for maybe an hour though)

That's all. Now, everybody go signup for the NASA HPDE on the 11th!

Step 3.

Reinstall it

This is an original part off a 2000 Cobra 'R'. The name for it is Air Dam but we all call it a splitter. It is functional as it adds downforce at speed to the front. They also have a matching rear wing that adds the same amount of downforce...

  My Cali Trip *pics*
Posted by: JackoliciousLegs - 05-29-2005, 04:03 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (13)

Well, I headed off with my girlfriend hannah (some of you have met her) on a wild and wonderful trip up the west coast of california. Armed with camping supplies and a vovlo v40 turbo station wagon with great brakes and the service light on the whole time. (and it blew a fuse... fucking volvos)

It was a weekday when we hit route one so I tore the SHHIT out of it... lol. You can't speed on that road. Speed limit is 55 and all the turns are scary past 35mph. Lol.... SOOOO much fun. I woulda paid money to have my RX but the volvo in sport mode wasn't too bad...

There's a picture I haven't put up yet of a road that I got to drive on on the way back from Kings Canyon. It was marked as a tiny road on the map and it was undergoing construction, but since it was the weekend, there was NO ONE working on the road. It was a newly constructed WIDE 2 lane road with no lane markers and WIIIIDE shoulders... snaking through hills. I got to FLYYYYY. It was like a 17mile road course. I wanted to go back and do it again. Hannah wasn't too keen on the idea though Wink
