  1JZ-GTE Supra - FS
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 08-09-2005, 02:25 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (11)

Well, it's that time. I'm getting married in October, and this car has cost me far too much money. I need to get out of debt before I get married so it's either the Supra goes or, well, the Supra goes.

Here's what she is.

1990 Toyota Supra Targa.
Red color.
5 Speed (R154)
Originally an NA (Low insurance for you)
JDM 1JZ-GTE 2.5 Liter twin turbo.
The mods:
3" Greddy/Trust Downpipe
Spearco FMIC
Walboro high volume fuel pump
Magnaflow muffler.

Brand new:
Headgasket,
Belts, (timing and accessory)
Valve stem seals,
motor mounts,
tranny mount,
clutch,
NGK plugs,
and a used set of excellent condition coilpacks. (the old ones were in awful shape)

Other goodies:
2 1JZ Cylinder heads (with valvetrain)
1 complete 1JZ block
1 pair of cams
1 intake manifold
1 pair of exhaust manifolds
other misc 1JZ stuff (alternator, etc)
1989 Toyota Supra Turbo LSD (in the pumpkin, not installed)
1990 Toyota MA70 Factory Service Manual
1 "luxury" key for toyota, uncut. I can have this cut at the factory, if you want.
a trunkload of 7M parts including ECU, MAFS, and other stuff.

The interior is immaculate, the paint is pretty good. Hauls like a sunufabitch. With the DP and FMIC I would guess at least 290hp to the wheels.

2 bad things:
Tachometer doesn't work. (It's the 1JZ tach, but it's dead as a doornail. Don't know why.)
There are a few misc. wires in the harness that don't go anywhere. But the donor car was an Automatic TEMS car, so that's most of the "stray" wires.

That's the car. It's been put back on the stock suspension (so it's not that low) and it has regular amber corners instead of the clear. But otherwise, that is the car. Car is located near JMU, Harrisonburg, VA.

The price? $7500 for EVERYTHING. Negotiable. Will consider partial trades.

For more info either email me: TheRex(at)GMail.com or call: 540-271-1468 or post. Anyone you guys know, please let them know about this car. I just want out of debt before I am married. Smile

I am starting this thread to ask for your help to inquire whether your employers are looking for any entry level graduates such as myself.
I have sent a resume to SAIC through Monster.com. Does anyone else have any connections at government contractors or environmental businesses?

My degree is in Integrated Science and Technology
Concentrations: Environment and Environmental Aspects of Transportation

Thank you for helping a brother out. Jay has already helped me, thanks man.

Anyone else want to go up for the NASA-OH event Sept 3-5 (Sat-Mon) it is labor day weekend. I know it's the same weekend as the hill climb but I think I'd rather have more track time at a track and not some backwoods WV road (done plenty of that already).

You can sign up for 1, 2 or all 3 days.

  Motorsports Movie Reviews
Posted by: G.Irish - 08-07-2005, 09:35 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (1)

I just bought yet another racing DVD and I thought others might want to know what's good sooo...post about the DVD's you've seen or own. I'm closing in on ten now I think so I'll just start with a handful here.

2 Laps 2 Go - 4 out of 5 stars
Its a one hour vid about supermoto in the US but it basically just follows the Troy Lee Design teams exploits. At first the camera work was a bit chincy and tacky but once they got into the meat of it I thought it was pretty good. I was a little bit surprised to be honest because I thought it would be more about the entire sport in the US in general, not just about one team.

The history pieces on two of their riders was really cool, and in my opinion was probably the best part of the DVD (other than the extra feature with Umbrellagirls.com Tongue).

If you really like supermoto this would be a good DVD to buy but otherwise I'd say borrow it or watch it the next time we have a MM movie night

On Any Sunday - 5 stars
This is one of those landmark movies by which all others will be judged. In a nutshell On Any Sunday is kind of a grand tour of all types of motorcycle racing in the US (except for drag).

It loosely follows the flat track title defense season of Mert Lawill and the weekend exploits of offroad extraordinaire Malcolm Smith.

The movie does a great job of documenting the action while not being too dry and injecting a bit of humor in once in awhile. It is distinctly 70's with the long tube socks and funky music but it doesn't get in the way of enjoying the movie.

Of all the motorcycle movies this one is a must have. It is sort of the grandfather of Faster.

Le Mans 4 out of 5 stars
I had a hard time with this one because Le Mans is considered by many to be the greatest racing movie of all time yet I thought the off-track scenes were a bit dry.

This movie was kind of like video artwork. There is very, very little dialogue in the movie for the first 10-20 minutes and overall there isn't much dialogue at all. Its just kind of a thing where you sit back and take in the sights and sounds of the race. In that respect it has a certain purity in its depiction of the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Went to a supra meet down in Charlotte, NC this weekend, stayed at my brothers appt. There were about 35 cars all together, and about 15 supras. At the end of the evening all the supra's went over to the Toyota dealership and snaped some pictures. Vid is taken by my twin brother from my car and you can see my older brothers maroon mkiii. There is a white na SE with a body kit that didn't get in the video cause it was right next to me. Enjoy.
