A plea for help
Posted by: JessicaRabbit79 - 09-02-2005, 12:06 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (23)

Hey guys. As some of you know, I volunteer for a local no-kill non-profit animal shelter called Caring for Creatures here in Fluvanna County. The way things stand now, we are currently over capacity in terms of the number of dogs that the shelter can hold, and take care of in monetary terms. This past weekend, a bit of an emergency arose. There was a local couple who had taken in over 100 (yes... one hundred) dogs and probably around 20 cats over the course of their lives, and the husband passed away on Saturday. The wife, being elderly, is no longer able to take care of the animals, and "surrendered" the animals to CFC. Long story short, we need all the help we can get.

If you or someone you know is looking to adopt a dog, please let me know and I can get you in touch with the shelter. If you have a few extra bucks, or a few extra bags of dog food, collars, leashes... anything... the shelter can use any help they can get. Please also pass along word to anyone that you know who might be able to help. This shelter and the animals have become a very important part of my life- I wouldn't ask for your help otherwise.

My e-mail is jess@jchapin.net, and my IM is JessicaRabbit79.

Thank you for any little thing that you can do- every little bit helps, y0. Smile

 club email addresses

If you want an MM email address... post what you want here in this form:

jack.hirsch(at)mmsports(dot)org

If you'd like to forward the email to another account, put it in this form:

jack.hirsch(at)mmsports(dot)org -> ieatmaengsmom(at)hishouse(dot)com

You will get webmail and POP3 access assuming you don't have it directly forwarded :-)... These accounts will be available as long as MM is. Thank Drew again for providing this capability.

EDIT** I'm deleting the posts because I don't want spiders to pick up your email addresses. Smile

I was wondering today if anyone else finds this as truely...honestly...cool as I do?

This kinda thing might be odd but I just think its too cool. Its like the Tona and the Omni...but even better. That VAN does a quarter mile in 13.92 at 99.78mph (3,265lbs total) on street tires. I mean, am I crazy? I dunno, I guess to each their own. There is a Twin turbo V6 van also...heh..my heros. Oh, yeah, the van in the picture has outrun everything from big block Chevys to WRX STIs on a strait run.

 Convince me not to...

Well... since moving to chicago, I've quickly realized that owning a car is not feasible in my near future. Parking is impossible or expensive, theft is a huge issue, and keeping a car scratchless sans garage is futile. (I saw an 05 911 with bumper scratches...)

So... I'm looking at ways of getting around and I've come across an idea that probably won't happen... but maybe next spring? I can get one used for like 1k.

I'm a loser

Pros:
Very light on gas...
Would use maybe once/week
Nice for grocery runs
Nice to visit non public transport places
Nice to not be FORCED to use mass transit

Cons:
I look like a total loser on it
Would use maybe once/week
I don't need to go anywhere mass transit won't take me
Dangerous in a city
I look like a total loser on it

2004 Aspen White WRX [For Sale]
Posted by: Nis01 - 08-31-2005, 11:35 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (55)

Car For Sale:
2004 Subaru WRX [Aspen White]
13,XXX Miles
$19,600 o.b.o [Reasonable Offers]
Located in Midlothian, Va (Right Outside of Richmond, Va)

Car has been kept in excellent condition with a clean title and always been babied. It has never been to a track or modified more than a Cobb Accessport. Everything is as clean and shiny as the day I bought it. The only factory add-on is the Performance Package, which includes STi Short Throw, Boost Gauge, and Spoiler. I did add the painted side skirts and MOMO shift knob but still have the originals if wanted. The car has heavy duty all-weather mats on the floorboards so no stains or dirt are anywhere in the car. It has only seen Zaino products since the day its been in my possession so the paint is in excellent condition. No door dings or dents to be found on the car.
Reason for sale is that I found another car for an unbelievable deal so this car needs to find a new home Cry . It has always been serviced by the dealership and I have kept every record. The car still has the remainder of the factory warranty. Always used Synthetic Oil since first maintenance of the car. There is an option to add a STi spoiler to the car if wanted.
