Ok. So put on your thinking caps. I have come up with an idea for a thesis, and thought maybe ya'll could help a sister out a little. So I want to combine my two loves in my project, which would be cardiology and cars. SO - this is my idea: Determine the extent of demand placed on the heart when stressed and at rest. Stressed being say, in a 20-30 minute race session on a given track, rest being while in the paddock. There is a this thing called a holter monitor which is kinda like a portable EKG that just runs continuously, and I could hook it up to someone for say 20 minutes while hanging out in the paddock, and then while they are on track. I could see rate/rhythm changes, if there is any ectopy, etc. Whatta ya'll think? Would it negatively impact the racing experience and/or jeapordize someone's safety to do that? IRB will probably not be happy with my idea, but hey, I'm not asking people to do something dangerous, they got into racing themselves! So, any thoughts are welcome.

Sup all,
I go to JMU (currently not in MM obviously), but I was wondering if you guys have any advice abouting finding sport bikes in the Harrisonburg area. I'm from NOVA, so I usually use craigslist to browse for bikes when I'm there, but there is no craigslist I'm aware of for Harrisonburg. Ebay rarely has any decent bikes within 50 miles, and right now I'm car-less, so going to NOVA/DC to buy a bike would be difficult.
I have no experience with motorcycles as of now, but I'm taking the MSF course at Blue Ridge in 2 weeks and would like to purchase a bike soon afterwards.
Thanks,
Ross

I'm contemplating buying an old studio display... this one to be precise:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://chicago.craigslist.org/sys/94414575.html">http://chicago.craigslist.org/sys/94414575.html</a><!-- m -->
I have a PC with DVI-out. I found an ADC-DVI converter for $30 on newegg. I also have an old laptop that I'm hoping to trade for the monitor. Either way... I want this monitor to do color testing. Right now I have an 18.1LCD, and a 15" lcd. This would replace the 15.
So the question is... am I waisting my time thinking about an old LCD even though their performance was described as "stellar".. and should I just shell out an buy a decent... and current studio display?

Today was one of those days.
Well, sort of started yesterday. I wanted to get the integra ready for this weekend, so I get it up on stands, brake rotors and pads, change the oil, new plugs and a valve adjustment. Easy enough, right? Well I couldnt get the damn oil filter off.... so today I go to NAPA and get one of those oil filter cup things and it worked great - bonus is, the miata filter was the same size so I can use it on both cars. So the integra is done and ready, I thought.
Once that was done I got the miata in to do the 90k service shit - plugs, wires, valve cover gasket, oil change, tranny fluid and it also needed front brakes - but advance didnt have any rotors so I bailed on that. Miata out of the garage and I take the integra over to Evan's place to give him a hand on some things on his miata, I figure I can make sure the Integra is running fine and I can bed in the brake pads.
Here's where the shit hit the fan. I leave evan's and head towards great falls (empty roads, lots of slow corners - good for bedding brake pads), and I get about 3 miles and I hear a *thunkclunk* and the battery light flashes on. I figure, well shit I tossed the alternator belt. No such luck. The goddamn crank pulley is off the damn crank and hanging by the a/c and alt belts.
What had happened, when I did the valve adjustment my dumbass left the socket and ratchet on the crank bolt and when I tried to start it I hear *CLANK*. No big deal, i pulled it off and didnt think twice about it - it had loosened the crank bolt. And it backed out at some point, and of couse the pulley fell off.
I got it towed home... called the guy I crew for and said "hey i'm gonna go steal some shit off one of your spare engines in the garage" and went over there and scavenged another bolt, pulley and woodruff key. Bit of loctite on the crank bolt, put it all back on and the car is back together now and seemingly running fine. Could have been much worse (crank failure).
So thats that.
