Anyone else going to this???

Just thinking. Give me your thoughts:

My temp gauge likes to crap out on me every now and then. I was going to hook up another temp gauge as a backup. But instead, what if I hooked up coolant pressure? My thinking is that it might be even more useful as both a suppliment and a backup.

If I had a leak, and was losing coolant, I would see it long before the temp gauge would. That'd be cool.

If the radiator cap needed replacement, I would know. Sweet.

Head gasket leaking combustion gasses into coolant? I would see it.

Now here's the one I'm not sure of. If the water pump failed or the belt snapped. Would the pressure stay constant because it's regulated by the cap even as the coolant got hot? Or would pressure rise faster than the cap could bleed off and I would see it before the head gasket asplode? That'd be neat if so, and like I said, maybe even more useful than a temp gauge.

This came out in theaters last year but I sort of figured it would be Fast and Furious with motocross bikes so I didn't really try that hard to go see it. I happened to see it at Cockbuster while renting something else so I figured I'd give it a whirl.

All of the on bike action is pretty good. They do some weird Brady Bunch-esque film effects during a couple of the scenes but it was brief enough that it wasn't too annoying. Some of the camera shots were pretty good but not on par with something like Dust 2 Glory (not that anything is really). I was particularly tickled by a Supermoto race scene they had in there.

The big downside was that this movie was a smorgasbord of cliches. It was bad enough that while me, BJ, and Mikey were watching we decided that next time we watch we were going to drink every time a cliche came up. No joke this movie was cheesier than Velveeta.

That said it was pretty entertaining to watch and I think I'd buy it to add to my motoring themed movies collection. Its not going to unseat any of the favorites but its entertaining enough to watch every once in awhile or on a MMovie marathon night (or when I want to find a reason to drink).

ok, so the time has come for me to replace these bald ass tires, as soon as i get some money. Im open to suggestions, looking for a good sreet tire, my biggest concern is treadwear but i dont wanna sacrifice traction, i have enough traction problems as is. im looking to spend around $100 per tire, unless someone wants to chip in for me to get some michelines :lol:

Now I'm all about environmental conservation since I'd prefer not to live out my mid to late years of life in dystopian wasteland but more often than not environmentalists in the public eye come off as raving lunatic luddites hell bent on us all living in tents and eating(or smoking) grass.

However, slowly but surely many people in the scientific and environmental community are beginning to realize that to solve a lot of our problems we will have to find solutions that use market forces and approach things from a practical perspective. i've been busy. boy have i been busy.

short version is....

our place was the model unit....current neighbor was doing landscaping....lots of landscaping. he built his yard up to make it tiered. in the process, it extended over into what is now our yard. we said it was fine the first year, we were new there and wasn't a big deal, but this year we were starting our own stuff. so i've embarked on the mission to reclaim our space. we are putting in a fence, so i needed to get it taken care of. also, in one of the pics below you'll see the drainage that is cut out of our yard making it a not so "proper yard" space. i'm extending that pipe and filling in. while also connecting the gutter in front to the one at the back and taking it out to where i'll be doing the drainage work.

wish i had the shots from last year when his crap was in full bloom. it was like Jurassic Park out back.

Alright so im looking for a 240 body thats in good condition. Preferably having a running engine. I post up in this forum as I know lots of you guys have random parts cars hopefully one in good condition with no rust. An sr20 will be thrown in. Just let me know.
