I had my 1st minor accident yesterday morning. I've never hit anything in my life but was driving through Baltimore on the way to work in the city streets. I'm still getting used to the lanes and where each goes, what are turn lanes, etc.
I'm still half asleep in the right lane next to the curb approaching an intersection and this lady starts coming into my lane from my left! I lay on the horn, get to the right, and am almost all the way past her when WHAM! I feel this tap and my car starts to spin, back end to the right! I'm countersteering as I slide into the intersection and come to a stop. I was waiting for someone else to hit me, but luckily no one did. I got my car to the side of the road and the lady is standing outside her car pointing up at the street signs. I come over and my lane is a right only. Fuck, guess I didn't see it... I'm still not 100% certain it was my fault, but I need to go back and document the signs at the intersection. Insurance will be investigating and making a decision based on both of our stories.
Either way, stupid on my part, but I really think if she had any sense it could have been avoided. I mean a quick brake check or turn to the left would have prevented her from hitting me...
Damage to the del sol isn't too bad, just a dent and scrape in front of the back left wheel. The wheel took most of the hit, and probably the reason for spinning me. Live and learn I guess!

I was fucking riding 95 north on my way home from work like an hour ago. I was in the right lane and this fucking car just starts merging over into my lane. i laid on the horn, grabbed both brakes, back tire locked and dragged and he hits me.
He hit my sideview mirror and turned it in on me, and i stuck out my arm and pushed off of his car, somehow staying up, got in front of him, gave him the finger while i was looking back at him (seriously) and just thanked god that i stayed up and there was no damage to me or my bike.
But still, it was fucking scary as shit man.

Mason has been nominated for 2 ESPY awards this year - Best Moment and Best Coach. I'd venture that nobody needs an explanation, but for anybody living under a rock for the past few months:
Best Coach:
Larranaga (I probably spelled that wrong) lead the Mason Patriots to the Final Four in a bracket nobody expected them to win their first match in. I don't recall the statistic, but from their tournament ranking Mason is only the 2nd team in NCAA history to acheive this.
Best Moment:
Mason going winning the Elite Eight game, securing a spot in the Final Four. If you believe in emotionally charged sporting events, this was an edge-of-the-seat game. I made it home from the MotoGP season opener just in time to watch the last 2 minutes of the regular game, and go into overtime. To say that Fairfax was a happy town in the aftermath would be an understatement.
This was all really cool to watch from a somewhat inside perspective. One of my roommates drove to Indy to watch the Final Four game in person, Mason had several rooms set up for game viewing which were so packed you couldn't even sit down - coming from a school that's not known for anything, especially sports, it seemed pretty special.
I hope a few folks will take a minute to vote for us:
