It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a member of the NASA Mid Atlantic family. Our chocolate lab mascot, Sherman, died on Friday as we were setting up the HyperFest. We received the call while we were at the track. If we seemed a bit less enthusiastic this past weekend we must apologize as his this weighed heavily upon our minds. Sherman "Racer Dog" Cobetto loved the track and loved to meet all the members (especially if you were holding a hot dog!) He made our time at and away from the track more enjoyable and he will be sorely missed. Shermie was 10 and suffered no pain. He had a big heart but it just needed a rest. For those that have expressed their condolences we are truly appreciative. - Chris and Laura Cobetto

i just bought the ipod nani 1gb like a week ago..i wanna get somthiing bigger now since i got like 15000 songs that i can't fit in there,,,u can hold up to 500 songs on the ipod...it is in mint condition..i m trying to sell it for 110...my aim sn is billaall so im me if any of u r interested

Maybe for next season, I'd like to get a bike. The Blast calls to me because it's somewhat light (360lbs), is touted as a good starter bike, air cooled, carbed, nice and simple and inexpensive, just the way I like it. I also like that it's a sport/touring bike and should be a little more comfortable on the street, and a barely used one is $2-3k. I would use it to go to work (70MPG!) and play on nice days.

BUT.... I'd like to do at least a few track events too and really learn how to ride fast. From what I can tell, there are a few that track them, but I get the impression that there might be better choices. So I guess my question is:

A) Would the Blast be any good on the track? I'm sure I'd get wasted on the straights, but if you know me, you know I don't care about that. Low powered but lightweight is what I like. But would I be able to really lean and corner like any one else, or does the belt drive or street-tuned suspension or something else (brakes? shocks? I don't know) prevent that?

B) If not the Blast, then what? Although the Blast is "light" compared to most bikes made today, I'm finding evidence of some "race" bikes, with even smaller engines that are much much lighter. Something like the Aprilia RS 125 or 250? That 125 has just as much power as the Blast, but weighs 100lbs less, is track oriented and has to be badass! Right? Is that or something like it available in the US? Is there an older 2-stroke race bike I should consider? I'm sure 360lbs is a barge compared to older bikes. If I want to spend only a few grand, but want something reliable, do I have any options?

Anyone doing anything tomorrow night (Saturday 15th)? Would be fun to do a run to Dave & Busters or something, or just chill out and grab a few drinks somewhurrr 8)

So, after this summer, my parents are moving to Europe for the next several years atleast, and I'm trying to get my dad to buy a sports car to take full advantage of the location. I got it in his head a few weeks ago, and all of a sudden a few days later he says "you know, I could buy a Miata". Progress indeed.

I then proceeded to try and convince him to sell our house and buy a C6 Z06 but I think that backfired and now he's been put off the idea. I've settled (ha) on an S2000 for him, and I'm going to try and get him to test drive one. I'm hoping some seat time will sell him on it.

He drives a 2000 Toyota Avalon. Its a slow, boring, utensil of a car. Short of annoying the hell out him, what else can I say or do?

I think thats the answer. The answer to what, you ask? Well I'm not quite sure..... but this is it.

The FD is the car I always wanted to have, but the thought of $5,000 hand gernede engins scared me away.... time to re-prioritize!

I have a set of four stock 2003 WRX wheels with Toyo RA1 205/55-16 tires. The tires have only been used in one autocross. So they have near all of their tread left.

Any interest?

This is going to be my transmission rebuild thread once I source all the parts and find the time/space to do this. As my trans rebuild gets underway, I'm debating a few things.

1) TRD Clutch type LSD

2) Lightweight flywheel.

I probably will get the LSD but the flywheel I'm not so sure about. Is it worth it for track abuse in a momentum car? What are the advantages and disadvantages. I had one on the Prelude but never drove it without a stock flywheel so I've got no idea what it's suppose to feel like.

Any of you track guys have a LWFW? What are the pros and cons?
