  Regenerative Shocks

Now that this idea is in front of me, why didn't we think of this earlier? Seems simpler than regenerative braking.

Going out of business and whatnot.

They're not fancy, purpose built but there's nice. I've been known to wear mine on bobo chrome.

Looking good! The black Bullitt style wheels set the car apart, along with the MM sticker in the quarter window. Big Grin

That is all.

Wow that is pure sex. I had seen these cars a while back. But they just caught my eye again. They hit shelves around spring of 2009 as 2010 model. They come in.

3.8-liter V6
ÔÇó Est. horsepower V6: 306 @ 6,000 rpm (regular fuel)
ÔÇó Est. horsepower V6: 310 @ 6,000 rpm (premium fuel)
ÔÇó Est. torque V6: 263 lb. ft. @ 4,700 rpm (regular and premium fuel)

2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo
ÔÇó Est. horsepower 2.0t: 212 @ 6,000 rpm (regular fuel)
ÔÇó Est. horsepower 2.0t: 223 @ 6,000 rpm (premium fuel)
ÔÇó Est. torque 2.0t: 217 lb. ft. @ 2,500 rpm (regular and premium fuel)

Also, the 2.0 turbo model, although it only has 220HP-225TQ stock, is on very low boost (10lbs or less), the FACTORY itself confirms that it is capable of holding at least 29lbs of boost on the stock turbo. I don't know if the stock turbo can put out that much though. The 2.0 motor is also the "World Motor." The World Motor family currently consists of the motor from the Evo X, and the Caliber SRT-4.

Hyundai's rear-drive performance hopeful will weigh in at $22,000 for the base 210-hp 2.0L turbo model, and the 306-hp 3.8L V6 will start at $25,000.

Tuner types and gearheads will probably be most interested in the newly announced mid-priced 2.0T R-Spec model ($23,750). Hyundai has chosen not to make the R-Spec a stripped-out lightweight performance model. As such, the model still includes things like the aforementioned six-speaker stereo, air-conditioning and remote keyless entry, but the 137-mph coupe also gets Hyundai's full compliment of performance hardware, including uprated Brembo brakes, stiffened suspension, a Torsen limited-slip differential, and 19-inch gunmetal alloys wrapped with summer tires.

Im seriously considering one of these when I get back from this summer.

Any idea what a turbo swap like that would cost?

  WTB: Cheap HDs
Posted by: .RJ - 02-12-2009, 10:44 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (28)

Looking for a pair of 500+ gig AND a small portable (40-100 gig? USB) drive (or something like an Archos deal with a screen that I can put photos on), anyone have anything cheap (like trade for a happy meal)?

If not I'll get something off of newegg. I need to get all my photos off my too small HD, and have something to back them up with in an external enclosure, and something to travel with as extra backup (there's a trend here... ).

well. since i've got a new car, it's probably time i start this "project" thread. I'm using the word "project" loosely because the title of the "project" would be more adequately put as "the least ricey, more tasteful mods that will attract the least amount of thieves and cops as possible project." that in mind. I have a few ideas floating around, but would also like some input from you all. here's what i have in mind.

I like the idea of doing some exterior mods to separate it slightly from other civics:
1. lowering springs (preferably around 2") - will i need new shocks for this?
2. amber corner lights. or clear corner lights. vote?
3. potentially some red/clear taillights. look em up on ebay. they're pretty cool and provides a little change. also, if you look in the pictures, they differ in that the top half of the taillights would be clear instead of the clear/yellow they already are.

I know that i want to replace the gauge cluster with one that has a tach. the ex's and the si's (i think) have the tach and it's apparently a bolt on.

as far as performance mods:
??????
I kind of want an intake - but this would be more for fuel economy reasons.
And i don't think i want an exhaust unless it's a 2" tip, because i don't want to attract thieves. - here the idea is stock looking but with better airflow to help fuel economy.
any suggestions on other performance mods other than a mini me swap?

oh. and does anyone have two honda badges? mine are missing. and i like the stock look. (i know this is probably the riciest thing i could ask)

reminder: I AM CHEAP so keep that in mind when suggesting stuff. Also, I'm not into the fart cannons.

I'm also contemplating plate ideas. here's what i have so far:
BEETR (BEATR was already taken)

here are some pics to get some ideas.
