Some guy on NASIOC is selling a R32 Skyline GTS-T for 10k

someone rescue this. he has stated its not legal. The odometer says 181k so I don't know how reliable it will be. This would be an awesome track car, but I'm sure it would have to be rebuilt soon.

edit : the guy said the motor has 56k on it. It has been rebuilt.

  My 2002 Volkswagen Passat Wagon
Posted by: V1GiLaNtE - 05-12-2009, 05:09 PM - Forum: Member's Projects - Replies (64)

Well guys I finally upgraded from my 1992 F150. I'm sure many of you know how much I've been talking about it.
It's a 2002 VW passat Wagon with a 2.8L V6 tiptronic. It's got 115,000 miles and has all the major service work done to it. I just ordered a badgless black and chrome grill as well as a 5000K HID kit for it.. Eventually I'll lower it and then add some 18" RS4 wheels.. Anyways, spent a lot of time washing and waxing it today so I took some pics. Enjoy!

  Who here likes comparing cars?
Posted by: PDenbigh - 05-08-2009, 11:15 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (2)

I have an opportunity for one MM'er to earn a little gas money by creating comparisons for same-class cars and trucks. This would be factual data sourced from Edmunds, R&T, MT, Manufacture Websites, etc. There would also be a small section for common/summarized customer reviews, complaints, likes, and dislikes. For example, compare the 2010 F-150 and all the other trucks in its class and have a factual spreadsheet with the results. There would be no "Winner" of the comparison. The point being to simply compare them, feature for feature, advantage for advantage, innovation for innovation, listing all the things that one has that the other doesn't, and listing all the things that one does better than the rest. It's an exercise in marketing but being limited to 100% factual, provable results, with no need to persuade anyone.

Additionally, same-brand comparisons of the various models (XL, XLT, FX4, etc) and what one offers (standard features) that the other doesn't, could be included in this project. Changes from the previous model are also topics to be researched.

This is a developing idea so I'm looking for a "builder" that we can trust and that likes to create things and be involved on the ground floor. When doing the reviews, no bias is allowed and no "winner" will be made. Initially I'm looking at around $10 per car reviewed based on how detailed we decided to get.

If this sounds interesting to you, shoot me an email - <!-- e --><a href="mailto:peter@85xr.com">peter@85xr.com</a><!-- e -->. No further questions will be answered here.

Thanks,
Peter

What are the greatest RWD / FWD / AWD cars of all time?
Posted by: WRXtranceformed - 05-07-2009, 09:49 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (40)

Interesting topic posted up on the IS forums. I'm curious what picks you guys would have. Post up your three and discuss!

My picks, because I've always been more of a newer car / tech guy:

RWD - 09 Vette ZR1
FWD - ITR
AWD - Bugatti Veyron

  Help me identify a Merc
Posted by: Dave - 05-06-2009, 09:24 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (14)

I do not, as a general rule, like Mercedes cars. I find them to be overpriced, ritzy, and entirely too heavy with too many gadgets, all of which appeal to old, rich people :-D.

However, several times recently one has driven by my house and I'm smitten. I don't know what it is b/c all I can get is a side-profile from a distance (foliage at the front of my property limits visibility). Since I'm not a Merc fanboi, I don't even know where to start looking. I've listed the attributes below, please help me ID so I can add it to my list of cars I want...

-V8 engine. It sounds awesome, which is the main reason I even noticed it.
-2-doors
-looks fairly modern w/ smooth curves, I'd say MY00+. Remember I haven't seen front or rear, except for catching the emblem on the trunk once while I was walking my dog.

I know that's a short list of attributes, but I'm really out of my league here...
