Hey if anyone sees a 300xzx or another car that is a steal let me know and I'll check it out. Can't afford a TT unfortunately. Thanks

My name is Matt Sullivan (username: Sully). I am real excited about hopefully becoming part of the Madison Motorsports Family. I am a Freshman engineering major. My rides include a 2001 Ford F-150 on 37's, a 2007 Gsx-r 600, and a newly aquired 1992 Nissan 240SX Coupe. Too many mods to list on the truck but if you want to see some pics, check out my Facebook, can't figure out the link but I should be the only matt sullivan in the JMU Network.

Hey guys I'm Bryan McAlexander. I'm a freshman here at JMU and majoring in engineering. I've been interested in anything automotive all my life. My passion is for Mustangs, but I love any, and all cars. I drive a 1996 Mustang GT and my dad has a 1968 Mustang GT fastback. I do any work thats done to my car except for things that are out of my hands like replacing the clutch and getting the transmission worked on...etc. Im excited about becoming a part of the club and can't wait until next year when I can actually bring my car to JMU since I'm only a freshman. Heres a little rundown of my car.

Mods:
Cold air intake
Pullies
Offroad H-pipe with flowmaster mufflers
3.73 gears
85mm Mass air flow meter

Exterior:
Cobra wheels
Mach 1 chin spoiler
Eibach Sporline Lowering Springs (about a 2 inch drop)
Clear Headlights

  Hey MM!
Posted by: caa337 - 09-08-2010, 10:26 AM - Forum: Introductions - Replies (14)

Hey MM! My names Casey and I'm a freshman this year at JMU. I've had a passion for nice cars for a while. I prefer imports over American haha. I almost had a NA 300zx this summer but it fell through unfortunately because I love those cars. I don't know much on working on them(never took the time to look from my dad) but I look forward to an awesome year with you guys and hopefully I can get a car up here next year just depends on the money situation. Even though I don't have a car up here I'm still hoping to have a great time!

Hey, I'm Samuel Reiman - a current Sophomore at James Madison University. I lived in England up until 2004 (when I was 13) and I was a huge Formula One fan over there. Favorite driver: Michael Schumacher. I kept up with the BTCC too but I guess that was about it. I did a lot of go-karting over there but was never that good at it, and then when I moved to America I was faced with the difficulty of finding a decent yet cheap go-kart track, and I also got sucked into NASCAR. I keep up with Formula One and NASCAR mainly, but I also know a thing or two about Indycar and Sports Car racing. I'm not much into drag cars, but I am getting my feet wet in the realm of motorcycles - having just obtained my learner's last summer (2010). I don't know a lot about the mechanics or cars in general, but from video games I have learnt the "best" ways (or at least some good ones) of driving them. Video games, you say? I can't do better than that? Well that's why I'm here! I've never been able to get out and race or even drive fast. I only just got back in a true European go-kart this summer when I was at G-Force karts in Richmond. Got a 29 second lap as my fastest which is respectable, I think, having not been in a kart for five years. I can't wait to take my car out onto an actual race track though, that is a dream come true for me - it's unreal! Even if it is not such a great car. (Well, it's a great car to drive - it gets 31MPG and has about 94,000 miles - that's all I really know about it, and it's a 1997 Dodge Stratus). So yeah. I believe every form of motor racing is a sport - and that's why I want to do the 2 hour enduros at g-force carts (so that I can defend my belief and get worn out) - and I just want to see how fast my car can go around VIR. It gets boring just driving her at 65 on the highways eventually. Samuel Reiman

Student Org Night & So So Much More
Posted by: Jake - 09-06-2010, 10:37 PM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (16)

For those who don't read the front page or your email evar, here's what's happening this week, now that we're all back.

Student Org Night
Tuesday, September 7 at 6:30 PM
This is our chance to show JMU just how undeniably cool and awesome we are. And to get some new members... which is important with many of us graduating in May. Sob, tear. Please throw on your MM shirt and join us between 6:30 and 8:30 on the UREC turf to help out!

Parking Lot Meet
Wednesday, September 8 at 7:00 PM
Just so we can really keep the interest level of our new or newly-interested members high... we'll do a quick parking lot meet on Wednesday, probably followed with some ice creams at Kline's. Meet us at the top level of the Showker parking deck (that's the one by the football stadium, NOT by B-Dubs) and we'll hard park, talk smack and show off our neons/rims/other Fast & Furious parts.

BBQ!
Friday, September 10 at 5:30 PM
Do you like food? I like food. Let's all get together and eat some food and talk about things like air flow meters and slave cylinders and thrown drive belts on South Main and why 22-year-old cars purchased for less than a grand run like crap some days. If we get lucky, some poor sap will run Seafoam through their motor and put on a potentially good smoke show.

Come over to Pheasant Run - if you're coming from campus, Route 10 will leave from the bookstore at 5:11 PM; one of us (or a later bus) will get you home. This little shindig will be at my place... 479 Pheasant Run Circle. When you enter P-Run (near the bus stop) you can go left or right... go right (for the love of all that is holy, watch the bumps and dips, they be bad), and it's the back row of houses. 479 is the end unit on that back row.

  Pre-College Solo Wrench Day
Posted by: SlimKlim - 09-06-2010, 03:00 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (9)

Alright. My little yellow gremlin has been neglected and unloved all summer, because a certain motorcycle has been drawing all my attention and finances. Now that this autocross is coming up, I need to replace my rear trailing arm bushings (so my rear wheels don't move around under heavy acceleration and braking), and Jake, Kristin and I are splitting a thing of Super Blue to bleed our brakes.

It wouldn't hurt to make the motor of the bike one color, or to wire up my instrument lights so I can stop guessing when my turn signals are on, so maybe if the car doesn't take too long I'll try to get that done as well.

Let's say this Saturday at Noon at Cabell's downtown (if thats cool with Cabell, and this is early for me, I work until 5:30) and we can work on our shiznit all afternoon. I'll probably be free during the day Sunday as well if some things don't get done, or maybe that can be wash/wax day.

Anybody Interested?
