  FS: Walbro Fuel Pump
Posted by: Dave - 09-12-2010, 03:00 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (4)

Retails ~$100, sale for $65 OBO

Walbro GSS 341 fuel pump
Got it in a transaction a while back and just haven't had a use for it. Never used and still has the caps on it from purchase. Seems to be a universal unit, however it's an in-tank unit and I need an external one; that's the only reason I'm even selling...

Specs:
255 lph
in-tank
inlet/outlet size: 5/16 in.

FS: 240sx seat mount + sliders
Posted by: Dave - 09-12-2010, 02:50 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (3)

rummaging through my shed, found this seat mount for a Nissan S13 & S14 (89-98) 240sx. I believe it is a Sparco mount, based on my hazy memory and that the part # starts with an SP and corresponds with some online searching. Full #: SP-400SB026L

Also have a set of Corbeau seat sliders that I have no use for. Should work fine as long you don't insist on all your brands matching...

The mount seems to retail for > $100. I'm open to offers, but thinking $90 including the sliders.

FS: E36 BMW Headlights - No haze
Posted by: Dave - 09-12-2010, 02:39 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (4)

I've got a pair of headlights for an E36 BMW 3-series. Zero haze and in great condition, however the mounting bracket on the driver's side does have a tab broken off. It takes about 5 minutes to transfer over from your old bracket to the headlight housing, 6 screws in all. About a 15 minute job for a massive improvement in looks and visibility.

$75 OBO for the pair, shipping is available if necessary. More pictures available if you need them.

Or was he simply trying to get his fair share from the money and fame created by Top Gear? I kinda feel like the guy's got a point. Clarkson, May, and Hammond get to make a lot of extra income from appearances and what not while he makes 0. On the other hand, he knew that was the deal going in, and signed a contract to the same effect. That's the deal you get as supporting cast.

At the end of the day though, I don't see it as a big deal. I doubt it costs the show any of its popularity so really Clarkson and crew have nothing to complain about. Stig guy probably knew he'd get fired and decided the money was worth it so he should have nothing to complain about.

Meanwhile, there's an opening at Top Gear. Would be a pretty nice gig, just couldn't tell anyone what you do...

  Scales to Use
Posted by: D_Eclipse9916 - 09-09-2010, 04:46 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (19)

Does anybody have access to weight scales that they can use? Tech at NASA is too busy now usually and getting my car prepped for TTC depends on weight. I have really almost come to the point where im thinking of buying scales but I simply do not have the space for them and 900 bucks for one time use is a bit steep.

  Taxes

Who else hates them?

I just went through a 2 week battle with the county regarding the property value of my car. They had it appraised at $24,400, after which I promptly wrote them a letter explaining that if I could get $24,400 for my car I would be at the dealership this afternoon trading it in. After 4 separate letters that I had to mail by snail mail (I know they purposely made this an annoying, hard process so they can keep my tax dollars) with proof of high mileage, numerous correspondence about irregularities and accusations that I made up the service records I sent them, they are finally sending me a check back for $59.21.

I'm not a dummy, I get the need for taxes. But when you really think about aside from state and federal income tax how EVERYTHING you already buy is taxed through sales tax, and other miscellaneous taxes (double, triple dipping, etc.), and then you have to pay another tax on your car and your home....it makes me really salty to see and hear about tax dollars getting wasted. Like the pointless medians they added in the middle of Dilworth in Charlotte, watching DOT guys sitting around while one guy operates machinery. Hearing about how one of our employees used to work for the state legislature and saw expensed dinner bills from the NC ABC commission that were $10,000+ tabs...expensive whiskey and booze expensed to the state, etc.

That's my rant for this morning. Who else gets salty about excessive taxation and subsequent wasting of our hard earned money?

Hey guys, I'm a sophomore and I drive a white BMW 323i with no mods yet. I had an K&N intake but sold it when I was desperate for cash. Planning on getting some raceland coils and maybe some wheels for Autox. I'm a SMAD major and just got hired as a Breeze photographer, so I also like taking a bunch of pictures of my friends cars. I do all the work on my car and my friends cars, but have only worked on bimmers.

Hey, I'm a senior this year but may stick around the area next year for grad school.

I bought my first car, a 2001 Saab 9-3 hatchback, this summer but after a month of owning it I'm already tired of dealing with mechanics and garages. I'm all about maintaining it myself and meeting other Saab owners to share tools/knowledge.

(all I have are fb pics at the moment, sorry if they're blocked)
