I searched and could not find any mention on the site that Bob Wade passed away on November 20th. I know the club has a strong relationship to Bob Wade Autoworld and I thought the membership should be aware.

So it's about that time. I have taken some vacation time here and there, but never more than a few days at a time over the past few years. It's been a good year but stressful so I would really like to get away for about a week to 10 days around the end of February / early March. Preferably someplace warm and tropical.

The only tropicalish place I've been is Hawaii. Hawaii was cool, but here is what I am looking for, for those who have traveled to tropicalish places:

- Looking for some place in the Caribbean due to ease of travel time / time zone. I don't really want to lose a day traveling across the US in a plane. Also if the love of my life hasn't gotten tired of me yet, she's coming with me. Although I fly all the time she's never flown before...so minimizing time in the airplane is ideal
- All inclusive just so we can eat and drink and be merry whenever we want
- Beautiful obviously, someplace unique and not completely touristy would be awesome...but i would definitely like the beauty and convenience of a nice resort too. I realize this is probably asking for a lot
- I would be open to other non-Caribbean locations, but I am not interested in going to Mexico at all
- Someplace where we don't have to worry about drinking the water is a plus
- Price isn't a huge concern if it's a nice resort, within reason. I mean we're not going to Necker Island or anything, but I'll put some money down if it would be memorable. If I had a put a cap on it I would say $4k at the absolute max, ideally something in the $2k-$2500 range for both of us would be awesome if that's even possible.

That's all that really pops into my head right now, although i'm sure I'll think of more stuff. I have never planned a tropical vacation before, so any experiences from vacations / honeymoons etc. would be great. Thanks! :thumbup:

M3 was sold last night. Got some cash in my hands. Needless to say I didnt waste much time.

Picked up this 01 60th anniv. Jeep today.

I had been wanting and looking for one for a while. I knew I wanted a 97 and up. I also wanted one with the color matched flares and bumpers. Silver, grey or white only. I had 3 I planned to go look at today. This was the first one I went to look at and the one I wanted most. The deal made me stop at this one. Dealer was asking 7500. I beat em down and paid 5k cash out the door. It has 110k miles and a bonus Rubicon Express lift kit with SYE, oversized tires and all. Dont care about that stuff at all but I can sell it for some extra loot!











For those who know about my other jeep...Most parts from that will be installed on this one!

Turkey week was pretty exciting for me- hope everyone's Thanksgiving was a good one!

Since leaving to go back to school I have been keeping in touch with my client who I had performed a new car prep on his new 911 GT2RS (see other post). He was extremely pleased with my work and informed me of his "other" cars in his collection. After playing phone tag with him back and forth between meetings in the city (NY) and Europe we finally get some dates settled during turkey week in which I would be able to visit his home in CT and begin work on the collection.

In his collection:
- Ferrari (F1?) 360 spider
- 1996 Porsche 911 turbo
- 1987 Porsche 911 turbo
- 2009 Porsche Cayenne turbo s
- 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

While I was letting the Oil do its magic I started working on the 96 turbo interior (Full Correction coming in a few weeks on it), the leatherique oil had also been put on the 911 the day before.

After the interior was wrapped up, the top was put on and the car was pulled outside for a full decon wash:

After the wheels were agitated with my Uber spoke brush and Swissvax wheel brush I then moved on to getting this unknown (crappy tire dressing) substance off the side of the Pirelli's. Tarminator and a Pinnacle bug block used here:

Pulled inside after being dried for paint inspection:
- The car ranged from very very mild cobwebbing to RDS and some terrible marring in the inlet vents and on the rear decklid











After some test spots the following was chosen:
- Menz SIP via uber orange followed up by Menz 106 FA on a green pad
Rear decklid and more severe areas:
- M105 via Uber yellow, Menz SIP via Uber orange, Menz 106 FA via Uber green
All other inlets and tight areas were done either by hand or via my PC with a 3 inch LC pad

My brother working on the engine bay- cleaned with ONR, Swissvax brushes and dressed with 303, exhaust system polished with P21s polishing soap.

On the dash Ferrari had placed a WARNING sticker straight onto the leather- the owner requested we remove it:
Citrus degreaser diluted 10:1 and a little help with a plastic razor blade and a heat gun:

Moving onto rear decklid area- taping up and laying paper over the engine cover- proper prep always a must:

Removal of PL 30 minutes later:


911 GT2 RS pulled outside and received a full 2 bucket method wash as well- pulled back in for a Paint Sealant App.

So,

I was at best buy the other day, and I was comparing 3D TVs. Now, I'm not one to normally go for a 3D TV, but I was actually impressed by some LG they had set up there that didnt need active 3D glasses. I think this i the one:

And actually, compared to the active 3D samsung that was beside it, i thought the LG looked more 3D, and sharper than the samsung. Has anyone else done any 3D comparisons?

Also, it seems like on amazon this TV is 1099. Not a bad price. I think. I am looking for 46" - 55." for a grand or less. Has anyone seen it anywhere for cheaper, or any other deal I should be checking out, seeing as it is black friday week?

I come to you looking for recommendations for a toolbox. Currently I have a 260 something piece ratchet set, a set of standard and a set of metric wrenches, more screwdrivers than I could ever use, and metric and standard sets of allen keys. I will be adding to my collection as time goes on and my current box is running out of space. Right now, I'm using the plastic box my ratchet set came in. 3 drawers (all ratchets fit in assigned labeled spots, which I love for cleanliness/organization) with a top bin for misc items. I would like something that is semi-portable since I move it from home to school or to whoever's house currently has a broken vehicle taking up space in the driveway. I am down for getting multiple boxes, keeping the one I have while getting additional ones, or just getting one big one that I can still move once in a while if needed. What do you guys use?
