4X Brandy New 225/50/R16 Hankook Ventus. Unmounted, still in the straps from tire rack. Stored indoors. These are 85/each at tire rack, make me an offer.

H6 Rear Brake Upgrade. Rotors + Caliper brackets. Bolt on, you just gotta trim your rear dust shield. 1" larger rotor. 75obo. You can check what I paid in my thread, you're getting a deal.

So I have a GoPro Motorsports edition HD1. Reason im selling is because I want external audio. Nothing is wrong with this one and it makes amazing video, that really doesnt get any better with the HD2, but...I use it enough that I want the one with the external audio for road racing. I have all the accessories that originally came with it, as I havent used any of the "hard mounts". I dont know what these sell for used, but I figure 200 sounds like a reasonable number with all the accessories.

Anyone game to make grab lunch at Ehall next week? Say maybe Wednesday around 12:30?

I'm thinking I might be in the market for a new DD.

I drive a lot. I have about 150k miles on my Malibu, and it is still going strong but some things are starting to aggravate me. I just put tires on it and did an alignment at the end of the summer, but its now shimmying again like it needs another alignment.

I think i messed up buying the 4cyl, because it has never gotten quite the mileage that i was expecting. Most days I pull a mountain twice, even though its on the freeway, i think this kills my mileage. They came out with a 6speed trans about 2 months after I bought that might have solved that problem though.

Anyway, so now I'm thinking of doing something different. I would love to buy a CTS-V or something, but I can't really see putting all those miles on a car like that.

I'll probably buy a year or two old, sub 25k miles. I think I have a new set of wants:

V6 or Turbo 4 (or something with a good amount of torque)
at least 28mpg combined driving
leather
sedan probably, but could be a coupe or hatch
reliable- see mileage issue

Soo..anyone DDing anything or know of anything that you'd recommend?

Me, Chan, and RJ were having dinner the other night, and the conversation inevitably shifted to the BRZ/86. We all almost felt like we should buy the car because as enthusiasts, it's one of the few times in recent memory where a car has been made that is almost exactly what we asked for. Then Chan said, if someone made a RWD diesel sports car, he would have to buy, almost regardless of the price. For me, if Honda brought over one of the JDM Civic Type-R's or made a badass RWD Prelude, I'd have to buy it, whether I needed a new car or not.

That got me to thinking, everyone has some car, or some combination of attributes that would cause them to make an irrational purchase. Maybe there's a car that someone doesn't make anymore that you'd buy if they made a new version of. Or maybe it's a car that isn't sold here. Or perhaps there's some car that is still made but they've fucked it up over the years.

What car is your must-buy-consequences-be-damned? I know what Goodspeed's is

EDIT: Well, its officially official. The car is on eBay this week and I looks like it's drummed up a little early interest. I'm posting it here in it's now ready-for-sale state in case there is a chance to keep it in the family. Obviously I reserve the right to sell it to whomever I please.

This is an early build first year Miata with extremely low miles in very good condition. I believe this is a "B" Package car. It is equipped with the leather wrapped steering wheel, power windows, power steering and the limited slip differential. I think the only option its missing are the power mirrors.

This car was purchased new in Chicago by an elderly couple. They drove for 54k miles until they toasted the clutch and didn't want to pay for the replacement, so they let it sit in front of their shop. I found it and towed it home, replaced the clutch, sorted out a few minor issues, and found a set stock wheels for it. I extensively cleaned the whole car and polished out the paint.

The Good:
-57k miles
-A/C works but doesn't blow very well, expected with Miatas
-Heat works extremely well
-Top was replaced recently and holds out water
-Interior is in extremely good condition
-The driver's seat has had a "foamectomy." If you're over 5'8" I would highly recommend sitting in the seat. With some of the foam removed from the back and bottom of the seat you feel like you're actually sitting in the car instead of on it, and the side bolsters are much more effective. If you're of shorter statue, or don't like it, I saved the foam and can help you reinstall it.

The Bad:
-The previous owners never cleaned the drain tubes, causing the dreaded and common "rocker rust." The replacement parts cost $200, if you can do your own bodywork. I'd expect about $500 from a body shop. The damage is not structural and I don't think the rust is spreading. If you're considering this for a track or autocross car I wouldn't bother replacing it
-The rear valence is cracked, also common, and could be repaired with a plastic welder.
-The paint is not original, but it is the original color. It looks perfect from 10ft away. Up close you'll notice some small rock chips on the nose, a few small dings, and drips on each side of the rear bumper. This could be corrected by wetsanding.
-It looks like someone rubbed up against a painted curb with the front right tire. Its got a yellow smear that could probably be cleaned off.
-The driver's window rattles sometimes when going down. It always goes back up though, probably just a little loose in it's track.
-The brakes, well there's technically nothing wrong, but they are just older stock Miata brakes. I would highly recommend replacing the rotors and upgrading the pads.

In general, the car runs and drives incredibly well. The motor is very "happy," quick to rev and smooth at idle. The low mileage is apparent in how the motor sounds and behaves, and the incredible condition of the interior for it's age. Several people have said it's the best condition stock steering wheel they've ever seen on an early NA. If this car was completely perfect. With 57k miles, garage kept with the original paint and no rust, it would easily be worth $5-6000. The early cars have already started to turn up in value as collectors start looking for them. However, this car isn't perfect and I'm fully aware of that. Every issue I'm aware of on the car is listed and described above. If you poke around on eBay and Craigslist and the enthusiast forums, you'll see cars with 150-200k miles, with the original paint and no (showing) rocker rust, are selling between $3-4000. I'm asking [COLOR="Red"]$3,750 OBO[/COLOR] for MMers.

This car is a unique opportunity to pick up a very low mileage, unmolested example of an early NA Miata without the steep cost of entry. As it sits this car as a ton of potential. It could either be a cheap way to get a low mileage motor and solid car for a track/autocross build, or a rewarding investment or project car for someone willing to invest the time and elbow grease into correcting the cosmetic issues.

Looking for a roommate. I have a few leads, but thought id put it out to some fellow MMers if anyone was interested. I am looking for (one) roommate starting December 16th. The location is in Northe Point Reston, VA. About 2 miles from the Wiehle future Metro stop/toll road (also only 1 mile from route 7). It is a 3 bedroom/3.5 bath townhouse with a detached 2 car garage. You would have about 800-1000 square feet just to yourself (depends on if you include storage as your own area), this includes a bedroom with a full bath, a "living room" section and a "bonus room" section, as well as a large storage area. This would be to yourself. Of course full access to the rest of the house is included. I also will give the renter one spot in the garage, and one spot in the driveway right in front of it. The section of your house is not furnished. Pets within reason okay, non-smokers (and that includes marijuana), and no drugs. A large perk includes Reston Association access!

Anyone here using Streaming TV? I use netflix, and it seems to work OK, but I dont think the service is as good for some other providers. My Internet is just barely able to keep up wtih netflix being in 720p, which is fine, and if it occasionally has to, it will re-buffer temporarily at a lower resolution, but it still keeps going.

It seems like some of the other providers out there dont have their service set up the same way. For example, Vudu will stream for a second, and if it has to re-buffer, completely drops the stream until it downloads more content in the full resolution. Well, this sucks.

Are there any services out there that let you pre-buffer larger amounts of content so the streaming isnt interrupted, or download the entire content for viewing ahead of time? I dont mind if i have to wait on the initial download, as long as the content plays smoother. It seems like Zune from xbox is the only thing that will let me buy a movie or something and it stores the content on the HDD if I want to view it later.
