So this is a pretty common issue with BMW's and Mini's, and my fiancee's Mini has the ABS light on most of the time, but it will go off occasionally. I've cleaned all 4 wheel speed sensors and still have the ABS light on. I have tested each sensor at the wheel by unplugging the sensor at the connection point (blue plug) and placing my multimeter on the small probes inside each sensor wire connector. I set the meter to OHM's and the meter reads 1. Once I touch the probes in the sensor, it remains at 1. I tried spinning the wheel while having the multimeter connected, because it is supposed to generate a reading that fluctuates, and still no change on the meter- stays at 1. This last step involving turning the wheels to generate a reading only has been on the front wheels- I haven't had time to test the rears.

So the question is, am I testing this correct? If the multimeter doesn't change its reading at all, is the sensor bad? I should know more next weekend after I can test the rear sensors, but I feel that I should have got a reading of some kind on at least one of the two front sensors.

Yes I know, shocker. It seems like I may have a serious buyer at a price I told myself I would be willing to sell my M3 for. Now, im not so sure.

Updsides of the M3, lets face it, its extremely fun, fast, and has been dead reliable. It is almost completely built to TTC/PTC specifications and dominated/would continue to dominate. However in GTS2, it simply needs more money put into it. There are little contingencies with BMW, and I dont ever see myself racing BMWCCA.

Realistically for this year, I would be going for a 2012 NASA National Championship in TTC and PTC.

Selling would leave me open to anything. Spec Miata? Spec 3? Both with plenty of money left over. There is also the option I have always entertained of going for an SCCA SOLO Championship in a C6 z06/grand sport or 996 Porsche GT3. Selling the M3, truck and trailer would get me there with no cash out of pocket. It would also serve as a fun daily driver, (reminder: I take the metro everyday, so not "daily" driver). The SCCA option would leave me with more time/more space, and more money in the long run. I figured I would get MM's opinion from fellow racers that got out of the game. (ill never get out, just depends on where im in it)

Well an epoxy floor does not a garage make! No sir! There are other requirements, even if the floor is totally baller:


Anyway. It's got some problems.

Problem #1: The walls are shit, and need paint.
Problem #2: No storage. Like, none.
Problem #3: No workspace.
Problem #4: Shit lighting.

I'm going to tackle all this problems, but not in that order.

So, first up, lights.

See, all this garage had is a pair of lonely bare incandescent bulbs:

the fuck? :evileye: This just goes to illustrate that we are a wildly different breed. When I first saw these bulbs, my reaction was pretty much Gandalf screaming "THIS SHALL NOT PASS!" No sir. I need MOAR light.

So, I shopped around a little, and bought some fluorescent fixtures. And when I say "some" I mean 8...for 50 bucks. Tested them all, they all had good ballasts AND bulbs. (Note: If anyone wants some of these fixtures, 10 bucks each and they are yours homey.)

Anyway, step 1: Cut hole in ceiling:

Step 2: Box in, install fixture.
Step 3: Wire fixture with THESE AWESOME INVENTIONS:

IDEAL In-Sure push-in wire connectors. Forget wire nuts, these things are TITS. Funny story, after the ReXJ had it's little impromptu off road excursion today, I was coming down the ladder for lunch. And wouldn't you know the bottom of the ladder decided (much like my Jeep's rear end) to take a vacation from what I'd told it to do and I came crashing, tits of teakettle, to my baller garage floor.

Then I had lunch, went back into the attic, and finished the last (of 4) fixtures.

Hello there everybody,
Put in a little under 15 hours into this 1996 Porsche 911 turbo focusing primarily on a full paint correction. The car is apart of the same collection as the GT2 RS, Cayenne turbo and Ferrari 360 I posted previously (check other threads!).

The interior was completed previously before so all 15 hours were focused solely on polishing and correction the heavy swirls and marring.

Due to time constraints I was concentrated on getting done at a reasonable time and only had time to snap a couple after pics,

All the smaller areas were hand polished and corrected and the same method was applied to rear bumper and the wail tail which took a little under two hours to complete!

Full IPA wipedown completed and Menzerna Power Lock was applied to cure for an hour before removal

Afters: the owner was ecstatic

With the 2011-2012 ski season sputtering out of the gate I thought it might be a good idea to get an an official official ski thread going. Tell us what you like to do ski/snowboard/both, what do you ride, where do you like to go, where did you go last week, where do you want to go in the future...the usual official thread stuff.

I currently ski on some Kastle rentals I never returned 10yrs ago. Last pair of skis I bought were old style K2 "Unlimited VO", tried them out a couple years ago for fun and can hardly ski them after moving to the parabolics. Boots are also rental crap - the idea is to get into some new gear once life allows more than just a few day trips a year. We'll see how this year goes, the kiddos are not playing basketball so focus will be on skiing this winter.

Snowboard is a Burton Supermodel 165 with CFx strap bindings. I don't do parks and can't ride opposite (goofy is my normal stance) so they are mounted angled forward for better carving. I prefer snowboarding in anything better than average conditions. Thinking about some step-ins in the near future, the only ones I tried a few years ago sucked so I've been hesitant...

Most, if not all my riding has been done at Bryce over the last couple years. I'm really trying to get to where the whole family can ski well enough to do trips. Haven't done trips with friends to Seven Springs or CO in a few years and REALLY miss it.
