i'm so psyched they have it on CMT now! it's pretty much the only thing to contest speedvision shows
for those that don't know....im a DOH die hard fan. started watching when i was around 4 i think. a few years ago i went to Ben Jones's (aka Cooter) store in sperryville (a hour, maybe 2 from JMU?) and it was awesome. DOH periphenalia strewn everywhere, and all the merchandise you can possibly afford. plus a genuine general lee on display. plluuusss Cooter himself owns and operates the place!
which brings me to my next idea...anyone want to do a trip to Cooter's place sometime before may? i really wanna go again before i leave the area after graduation. i just hope i can find a day on the weekends to fit it in. between all the auto-x's, track days, wrench days, the car show and bbq's, i don't know if it'll happen

To be honest I really don't know what he could possibly be thinking. While I think its cool that he's sponsoring a Moto GP team, its not a very good investment. There is no way in hell WCM/Blata will finish in the top ten in the rider's championship. Not this year, not next year, not the year after that, unless two of the Japanese manufacturers pull out.
If he really wanted to get into bikes he should start at the World Superbike or AMA Superbike level where he can actually get results for his money. Oh well, rappers keep trying to find more outlandish ways to waste their dough...

Hey guys, I was just doing a little more reseach on spring install and was wondering if it was absolutely necessary to bleed the brakes when doing this. I wanted to make sure this was required before I went ahead and bought new pads and brake fluid. Figured it was necessary but haven't had that much experience with suspension work. Please let me know. Thanks. Look forward to having a slightly more aggressive ride.

What have you guys heard/read about PS3? Is there any kind of deadline? Im just curious, im trying to hold off on buyin a PS2 to wait for the next gen console, but I dont have much of an idea on when its supposed to be out. I read today its supposed to be shown along w/the other next gen consoles at the next E3 event in a few months, but no time table was given for the release.

I'll save you the trouble of getting flamed by everyone and point you here: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=585065
Seriously, never having ridden a bike, why do you think you need a 1000? Not saying you can't ride one and enjoy it but even a current 600 supersport pulls ten's in the quarter mile...
At any rate, if I had to recommend one or the other to a newb, I'd say the 1000RR because by all accounts it is the most rider friendly of the current crop of liter bikes.
Quote:DrewWi22i been for a ride on a bike before just havent driven.... ive driven a dirt bike and yeah its different but the priciple is the same
So this guy PM's me...
Quote:DrewWi22 (7:31 PM 3/8/2005): hey what you mean high sides? but yeah i wanna get a 1000cc bike cuz i plan on selling it at the end of summer so if im gonna shell out the money i want the faster bike plus everyoen has a 600cc aroudn here but anyway i wouldnt drive it hard a a while,,,any more info is appreciated

My Volvo is for sale. It's been a good little beater, but I'm moving on.
Specs:
2.3L turbo SOHC 4 cyl -- 160HP, 200 TQ
4 Speed automatic transmission, rear wheel drive.
Limited slip differential
Fully loaded interior including:
Heated leather
Heated mirrors
Power sunroof
power mirrors and 5 way power seats for driver and passenger.
Absolutely the most decked out Volvo you could buy in 1991. Last of the rear drive non-fordized Volvos. After this, they went to the craptastic front drive setup and lost alot of their reliability. The AC blows ice cold, and the heated leather seats will keep your ass at a deliciously warm temperature. It has good compression on all four cylinders. I have the numbers, but not with me right now.
That's the good.
The bad: - It needs a new heater core. The old one has cracked, and "fogs" if the heat is on. I installed a valve to cut coolant flow to the core to prevent this.
- It uses a little bit of both oil and coolant. I do not know if the coolant loss is from the cracked heater core, but since there are no visible oil leaks, I can only suppose that the oil is being used by the turbocharger, so a rebuild mightbe in order for the 'charger in the next 25,000 miles
- One day I reset my tripometer and broke my odometer. It's stuck at 255,XXX. I didn't bother to fix it.
- Driver's side seat is worn, but after so many miles, is that really a surprise?
- Driver's side tie-rod end needs to be replaced. I'll probably do this, as I have the part, I just need an hour or so to actually do it.
Yes, this car has a bazillion miles on it. But rear-drive volvos are known for lasting forever, and this car would probably be good to 300,000 without even touching it. Some minor work does need to be done, but nothing that effects the driving of the car. It has a *brand new* I mean, brand new Virginia state inspection, good until 2/06. The tires and brakes are in excellent shape, and there isn't a single spot of rust on the car, anywhere. The champagne paint is in great shape with no scratches or flaking or anything.
This would make a great daily for somebody. And while I know none of you MM'ers have any money, if you know anyone who'd like a nice, luxurious daily driver, please send them here.
It's worth every bit of $1000.00 USD, and that's what I'm going to ask. If you feel the need to haggle, then haggle away, but no whining if I don't like your offer.
