'89 240sx

I found a '89 240sx down here around my home town for $600 OBO, says good engine and good body, but needs transmission work (AT). I would like to hear what you guys think...I might give the guy a call.

How much would it cost to swap a manual in and bascially get it ready for HPDE's?

Thanks guys.

I got an E46 BMW in today that has 90k miles, so it's affordable. I'll know exactly what the price will be tomorrow. It's an automatic, but if anyone is interested, PM me or call me at the dealership at (540) 433-9300.

Check out the website for current inventory. The cars I recieved today, will be listed in the morning.

Remember, if you don't see exactly what you want, we can locate what you want and give you a good price too.

Plus, if your parents are buying cars, tell them to help support MMers in the business.

 Acura is for sale...what next?

I'm very close to buying a Boxster. But...I thought I'd open it up for banter about what I should buy.

Here are the rules:

1. The car has to be European and a mark I sell.
2. My lean is towards mountain driving (add: cornering) versus drag racing. Skid pad > HP.
3. The NADA book has to be $25,000 or under.
4. The car must be available in the US. I'm not importing anything.
5. Obviously, a manual transmission must be available. (So, no CLK)
6. Joy of Driving > Status > A giant wing

Let the banter begin. 8)

New Star Wars Episode 3 Trailer

As some of you may know, on the OC last night the theatrical trailer for Episode III aired. I had a tough time keeping from vomitting as I sat and watched that horrid show only to find out the trailer was at the end. If you missed it, it will come out on the internet on the 14th or... you can download it from a torrent I found. If you don't have bittorrent installed, shame on you, but here's where you get it http://www.bitconjurer.org

And without further adieu, the link (possibly one of the ugliest links ever):

 Optima Red Top
Posted by: KPWSerpiente - 03-11-2005, 12:52 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - No Replies

One Optima Red Top for sale.

Used for one year in my super sick ride. Must sell because the intake manifold I installed requires either removing the battery or running a thinner one...so I purchased a Honda sized battery.

40 bucks plus your old battery or just 50 bucks if you want to keep yours.

Don't bother to ask if it fits in your ride...I don't know.

 300ZX Tech: Rollbar, Seats, Harnesses
Posted by: JohnC - 03-10-2005, 07:49 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (18)

Ok, not much tech here either. Just some pics of my recently installed AutoPower rollbar, Evo 2 seats, and 6-point harnesses.

The rollbar, fresh from IOPort Racing. I took the seats out and made sure things would fit okay.

Painted - 1 coat of gray primer, 2 coats of black. Took about 3 hours total of adjusting and drilling holes to get the damn thing in. Autopower supplies grade 5 hardware, I replaced it all with grade 8 from Lowes.

Heres the seats and harnesses installed. Custom (from scratch) brackets and installation from Piper Motorsports. This included 4 extra brackets welded to the frame for the lap belts:

Shameless pic-whoring:

Overall, the new seats and mounting get me about 1.5" lower than the stock seating position. And, of course, it will hold me in position without requiring me to brace against the door. Life is good.
