  Athlon 2600+ Nforce2 mobo + Geforce4TI 4600
Posted by: bluhayz - 04-02-2005, 02:56 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (7)

Hey guys,

I know this is a car forum but I figure a lot of you are interested in computers as well. I'm looking to sell my current desktop to purchase a laptop. The specs of this computer follows:

AMD Athlon 2600+
Nforce2 Deluxe Motherboard
Nvidia Geforce4 Ti 4600
1GB DDR PC3200 (I believe)
120GB HD 7200rpm formatted
60GB HD 7200rpm formatted
Wireless PCI lan card

This comes with the driver software CDs for motherboard and video card as well as anything else I have pertaining to the computer. I built this machine myself and it has worked very well for several years. I am just at the time in my life where a desktop doesn't have the portability I need for the work I have to be able to do. I am looking for $600 but am willing to possibly part out specific parts. As with most everything price is negotiable.

Please PM me with any offers.

Thanks

Brother got his new Lancer !

Well, not new, but it's a 2002 Lancer OZ Rally Edition. It's an impressive little car despite its lack of horsepower ! Leather seats, decent rims (that are going to get replaced soon =p), etc. We picked it up with 40,000 miles for $7900.

Should be fun to start modding it with him ! We're thinking small stuff like a catback exhaust, rims / tires / springs, CAI, struts / sways to get him started with the mod bug. Tint and system too; he's had a box with two Audiobahn subs with a built in blue LED just sitting in his room for a while =p

I'll get some pics up when I see it again. We might start autocrossing together 8)

  Acura Gone...BMW Here!

I'm an old man. So, in replacing the acura I picked a car that is comfortable, practical, pimp, and fun-to-drive. I bought a Manual E39 BMW. Green with beige leather, loaded with tons of options including tow hitch. And only 66k miles on it.

I'll post pictures ASAP, but I left my camera at the office.

Actually the wife and I got bikes Smile. Nothing to fancy, they are not mountain bikes. They are Treck 7300's. They call it a Hybrid, mainly for paved roads, but not some fruity road bike. We've got a few 5-10 miles trails near our house so we decided this would be a good way to work out together. I hate going to a gym and this allows us to do something together.

Here are some more pics,

  Where is my coolant going.....
Posted by: .RJ - 04-01-2005, 05:30 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (23)

In my 325is. Waterpump, T-stat and T-stat housing are new. Radiator was flushed. I cannot find any leaks anywhere... hoses, rad, etc. Even the hoses under the manifold and to the firewall (which are new) appear to be fine.

Compression #'s are 202,200,196,210,202,205. So the headgasket is fine.

So..... I'm stumped. Its a slow loss - losing a few inches from the reservoir every week or two.

Hehe Sean told me to make that the topic to get your attention Wink. Anyways I have a 240sx XE that just threw a rod and he said I should get in contact with you. I am considering either getting a motor swap somewhere or parting it out if anyone wants to buy it:

- Brand new battery
- Alloy rims
- CAI (off-brand cause im poor like that)
- NGK V-Power plugs
- Excellent condition auto trans
- BFGoodrich tires, about 40% tread left
- Brand new starter
- Alpine Type-S speakers (x4)
- Wired for Sub, will consider selling amp and sub if anyone wants it, AMP is 820W with clean bass and sub is a Kicker L5 12 inch square with custom box.
- Everything else is stock, body has no rust but there is a scratch and some dents on the right - front bumper and panels, interior is in good condition.

As I said I am considering an engine swap if someone has a hookup for that or parting it out. If someone wants the motor itself its probably worth rebuilding, it doesnt smoke at all and leaks no fluids or oil.

Note: the 240SX is a 1991 Red Coupe

Thanks to VDOT, time for a new motor.

Took a road I normally don't take on the way to work today... Bad idea. Hit what looked to be a tiny puddle on the edge of the road, turned out to be about 8 inches deep... Water + engine = bad news. This has happened before, but in the past just some wires got wet so I'd just let it dry a little and it'd start back up fine. Not today. Not wanting to risk any damage I pulled the plug wires... Water galore. It's probably dead and I probably won't see the track this year (or get a nice new car) thanks to VDOTs amazing job at keeping our roads decent, but at least I'll have VTEC. Yay for driving a shitty old blazer all summer. :x

Old picture of some Ghetto tech

I found this in my Omni archives. Forgot about this one. The "breaker bar" is a suspension component from a 70's Dodge truck. They broke all the time and we have several as breakerbars and pry bars for lower ball-joints. That damn lug nut finally gave... I had to do 3 of them like this, and one needed to be cut off.
