How many experience it or are part of the problem? I can't stand the term "road rage", but it does seem like an ongoing occurance in my daily commute to work. How do you experienced track junkies handle it? Do ya always blow it off when it entails your being cut off?

Hey, my name is Adam. I just came to my first meeting tonight and really enjoyed it. I am definetly looking forward to this Saturday. I had a question though about clearing the headlights on the WRX. I was wondering if I did this, would it still pass inspection?

We started taking volunteers tonight at the meeting for the GRM comittee, but realized there were people not present who are very interested (Travis). We'll keep the total comittee to 5 or 7 members, so lets start a list of who wants to be in it and what they can bring to the table:
1. Rex and Julie (they come as a pair)
2. Thayer
3.
4.
5.
Dave- comittee alumni
sorry, I forget who else raised their hand

Can I talk serious? I have a question for you guys. Since you seem to be more of the “true” enthusiasts of VA internet. I figured I’d post this rant/enquiring thread here. This has to do with motor sports vs. trucks. I am a 33 year old divorced white male. I grew up in Staunton, and then moved to Harrisonburg in `99. I have always been into the sport, but it really didn’t progress upwards until after I bought my truck in `95(see sig). If I could do it all over again, I would save and buy the sweet little white, 1998 240 SE Limited Edition that was sitting at Staunton Nissan a few years after my truck purchase. I still dream of owning a `98 240 someday. [Sigh]
Where do you guys see the sport and trucks? In the back of my mind I feel a truck can be just as fun. But, way back in the depths of my brain I feel I don’t belong. Most of the time, those depths surface before anything. That is kind of the reason you don’t see me coming to meetings and joining in on the fun. I would feel out of place. Partly because I have a `92 Ranger that is succumbing to the cancer of rust; and partly because I’m old, comparatively speaking. This was all brought on by an incident today while at Advanced Auto on 33. As I was pulling in, there was a 240, white, with black wheels. Something like “WCKD240” on the plates. As I parked I looked in my rear view, I caught a glimpse of what I can only describe as “laughing at my busted ass truck”. Now of course I don’t know this for sure, but that’s the feeling I got. Do I really care? No I don’t, because quite honestly, I think I would give him a run for his money. Unless of course he has done the famous SR20DET swap or has a boosted KA. See, I do know some things even though I drive a Ford Ranger.
But this is what I am getting at. Can you, “serious motor sports members”, ever take a person in a Ranger, S-10, Tacoma or anything or the sort, seriously?
By the way, if the owner of that 240 is a member, or somebody knows him. I’m not trying to be rude towards you/him. He just happened to be a part of the scenario that created this thought/post. I like the car, I’m a 240 fan.

Ok, so I have eleventybillion car magazines, none of which I read anymore, so they have to go. I'm bringing them to tonights meeting, if anyone wants any, they can have them. If not, they're going to the dumpster.
Magazines include:
BMW Magazine (4 issues a year, 3 years worth)
Roundel (Another BMW magazine... I've got a bunch of them bundled by year)
Automobile magazine (A bunch)
Mid-nineties Car and Driver (assload)
A couple of Road and Track's
A metric assload of European Car
The past few year's worth of Sport Compact Car.
And other miscellaneous stuff. (Like Original sales brochures (BMW, etc)
I'm getting rid of almost all of it (Except my 3 original FD brochures: 93, 94, 95) and I might keep a few SCC's, but for the most part, it's all going away. I'm tired of having all these dead trees, and since I'm moving, I'd rather pass them on to someone else who will enjoy them than try to move them.
So I'm bringing them tonight. Come get 'em.

my roomate and i just made a wicked batch of chili and now all i can think about is eating it. we've tried a couple different experiments with ingredients over the past 6 months and this is the best version yet. we've named it "Punch to the Face Chili", because it has the subtle zesty overtones of a roundhouse to your temple, but also sweet and herbal richness that is the result of the precise dumping of alot of stuff we found in the spice cabinet into the chili pot.
i can't wait til the next chili cookoff!
