I know you guys all watched last week's fifth gear where plato did a review of the new S class. Right? Well, if you'd have watched it, you'd have seen the new cruise control that adjusts speed for you depending on the cars in front of you.

See how well that worked...

 Sparco Stuff
Posted by: white_2kgt - 11-16-2005, 10:07 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (16)

Anyone planning on getting some sparco stuff for christmas? Well, if so let me know. This site, http://www.sparco4less.com/catindex.htm , allows you to become a 'sparco dealer' and get killer prices on sparco stuff. I'm going to order a suit and it is cheaper to pay the dealer fee and order the suit than it is to buy it from another retailer. So if you need any sparco stuff let me know and I can put the order in all at once. If there are only 2 of us ordering stuff, then we will split the fee, 3 of us, we'll do it 3 way and then any time after that you can order stuff for the dealer price, once the first order goes through, I'm adding a surcharge to any purchases Wink.

let me know,

i was going to buy a roll from summit but all i need it for is to cover my brake/gas pedal....so buying a 10 foot roll is kinda pointless.

i know it's sort of random, but i figured that maybe some of you guys got some for your car and have some left over. if you wanna send me some, i'll gladly pay shipping and whatever you want for it.

actually, anybody want to go in two or three ways for a 10 ft. roll? or are there other places you can buy this sort of thing from (that's cheaper)?

Yup, guess it had to happen to me sometime. I was backing out of my spot in p-run this morning and was all the way out of my spot and this chick in a celica was looking at her cd player and thought she was going around me and scraped across my bumper. The rear bumper doesn't need to be replaced but it will have to be removed and painted.

She was very apologetic and polite and offered to pay for it. Of course I took her up on it, and we went into the P-run office. I wrote out a little contract saying that she would pay for the repairs and we both signed it as well as a witness in the office.

Went and got estimates today and they ranged from $360-$480.

Shit sucks.

What do you want to know more about?
Posted by: G.Irish - 11-16-2005, 01:16 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (15)

The idea struck me to write some fan/newbie guides to some of the races I follow and I was wondering which series everyone wants to learn more about. For ex:

-Formula 1
-Moto GP
-WRC
-World Superbike
-Super GT
-Touring Car (SWC-Touring, Grand Am Cup, ETCC, BTCC)
-ALMS
-Grand Am
-AMA Superbike
-Supermoto

Of course there are a bunch that I left off but those are the ones I'm most familiar with.

The Aprilia SXV

The Ducati Hypermotard Concept

Supposedly the SXV will be for sale in the US next year. I think I saw one with street legal turn signals on it so maybe that will be an option in the US. Supermoto Racer mag reported that Aprilia was trying to get the bike homologated for AMA supermoto next year so who knows, we might see some racing here next year.

The Ducati is just a concept right now but damn I hope they make it. Unfortunately, it being a Ducati means it will probably be $$$. Here's an article with a little more about the concept:

When = Friday November 18th, 9pm
Where = Bungalow Billiards, Sterling VA

Because of the fact that I have to get on a plane the following morning very early I've decided to do something low key that won't keep me out too late. Plus with the number of people I've invited just makes it easier to meet at this sort of place cause we can all congregrate together and it won't be an issue like it would if we had gone to Vixens.

Bungalow has a decent sized bar, small dance floor, pool tables, and darts.

I've reserved the patio area that they have back behind the bar for us, plus 1 pool table so we have that whole area just to ourselves. Feel free to show up, bring friends, and it'll be a good time.

Rules
1) No-one is allowed to get me extremely drunk. Basically I must be able to stand at the end of the night and must not get sick. The last thing that anyone wants is to be battling sickness getting on a plane. This is not to say that I won't be drinking, far from it, afterall it is my birthday, but when I say I need to slow down, or that I can't drink something, please listen.

2) One of you, I don't care who it is, but one of you must take me home at the end of the night, and must take me to the airport the following morning. My flight leaves from Dulles at 8:30am so I must be there no later than 6:30 to get through all the checks.

3) When it comes to purchasing drinks for me, I don't do any of the following: Jack Daniels (shot or mixed with something), Jim Beam (shot or mixed with something), Vodka (shot, mixed is ok).

4) If you buy me a shot/shooter you must do one yourself.
