  2006 MM Trips
Posted by: G.Irish - 12-14-2005, 11:57 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (55)

Now that the new year is upon us I have already been thinking about what cool trips we could go on as an MM outing. I know for sure that I will be doing Laguna Seca again for Moto GP and Suzuka for F1 but I'd like to know what everyone else would like to go to.

Laguna Moto GP
For stateside events I have to recommend Laguna for Moto GP as it was an absolute blast, even though I went alone. This year I'm hoping I'll be able to score media credentials for it so I can write an article for Vtec.net. Even if not, it'll still be fun.

This is the last year of the 990 cc machines so you definitely have to go see/hear/feel them. They are deafeningly loud yet deep and guttural sounding engines, a sound unlike anything you've probably ever experienced.

I'm thinking that we should camp for this event because all of the hotels near the track are gouging the shit out of everyone and I don't particularly feel like driving an hour to the track again this time, although I guess it won't be as bad if we go as a group. If we camp we could always just rent a RV, which would probably be a ton of fun.

Anyway Let's get the ball rolling gentleman. List your ideas and where you want to go. If you want to go to Moto GP please say so.

Confusedhock:

Headshake much? I dont think I could ever do that... I have a healthy fear of hospitals and caskets.

Anyway, I got my Sparco Suit in,

[Image: Img_9100.jpg]

I think it fits me a little, uh, tighter Smile
[Image: IMG_9104.jpg]

Anyway, I got it from Rally Nuts. The suit is a Sparco Sprint 5 3 Layer (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO%5FRace%5FSuits%5F1690/Sparco_Sprint_5_Race_Suit_1647.asp">http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO% ... t_1647.asp</a><!-- m -->). Pretty heavy, I'm sure I would sweat to death in the summer if I didn't have the cool shirt (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=127">http://www.2kgt.com/item.php?itemid=127</a><!-- m -->).

The neck support is a Sparco Advanced (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO%5FProducts%5F1713/Sparco_Advanced_Neck_Brace_565.asp">http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO% ... ce_565.asp</a><!-- m -->).

I also got a few pairs of Nomex socks (<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO%5FUnderwear%5F1706/Sparco_Nomex_Socks_Calf_Length_753.asp">http://rallynuts.com/motorsport/SPARCO% ... th_753.asp</a><!-- m -->).

I already had the simpson gloves, and the Simpson shoes. I should be getting a new Helmet (SA2000) in a few weeks as well. I'm looking at the G-Force Pro Force Air Helmet.

Well, that pretty much sets ME up for racing next season, just need to get the car ready.

  Hburg Registration

SO I finally got the plates for the STI. I told the chick at the DMV I'm keeping it garaged in Rockingham County. She said I could get a safety inspection anywhere and could just drive down to the burg to pick up a county sticker.

My question is, do I need a valid place of residence there to get that county sticker? Like something saying I own a place there or could I just put any arbitrary address, like my old apartment or something? What have you guys done who have done this in the past?

I have this wheel and its fantastic. I paid about twice that, and it was worth every penny.

While you are there, pick up GTR for only $30 (and wonder why you ever bothered with Gran Tourismo)

  Yet another Corvette added to the family

My older brother finally broke down and bought himself a corvette today. His mkiii turbo supra is in need of some work and he's always wanted a vette, so what better time than now? Its a 1999 with 51k miles, adjustable suspension, traction control, 6-speed, blah blah blah on to the pics.
