Just curious if anyone else knows this guy or has seen him. Blue WRX w/ Primer Black Front bumper and a FMIC. It had the round headlights. Im not familiar with model years on the Subies.

Am I the first in the club to have seen one on the road? Anyway, my short review:

- Rear is pretty good looking. I had never seen one before so I was like "whoa" until I saw the Pontiac badge. I had no idea they were out already.
- The sides look pretty decent as well, the lines work.
- The tires looked to be seriously sucky. They looked like giant all-season, something you'd see on a truck. Not sport at all, but I dunno, maybe they have good grip. They also appeared to not be staggered, which is poo
- The front... Oh man, the front. It has so much going for it, but here it just falls flat on its face. Had they opened up an actual mouth i would have looked great, but instead they closed it off with two kidney-shaped metal grilles. Awful looking.

Overall, not a bad car, made me do a double-take as did the guy in the Mustang GT. The front end is absolutely horrendous, you won't find me driving one. Hopefully the Saturn will look 10x better.

Any of you ever had a MSD ignition system? I have a HEI system from the factory, computer controlled carb. Was looking at putting a kit on that comes with a coil, MSD 6AL control box, etc etc.....didnt know what kind o results to expect.

this is the thread to document the development of my 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R. I've got big plans for it, but lets start with the basics. I bought the car with 139,803 miles on it, I am the 3rd owner (past owner had for 11 years) and I got an awesome deal on it, I feel. It's got a few bugs (surface rust on top of car, sunroof non functional, sunroof seal is F'ed, engine leaking oil all over the place, dash lights need new bulbs), but overall I think it will be a great platform. My intentions are to get the service up to date (although it appears to have been maintained religously based on the paperwork that came with it) and have a few mods done on the car before VIR in February. This could get interesting...

something to give you an idea of what I started with (this is actually the 92 post-suspension swap, so it has a different front bumper and a shorty antenna, but you get the idea)


Last Friday night, I put this car and my 92 SE-R up on 2 lifts at work and swapped all four corners of the car in 2 hours with the help of one of the techs. Car now rolls on KYB AGX shocks and Eibach springs. I'll be doing an alignment this week. I'll also take a pic so you can see the car and difference between the suspensions.

Yesterday I wrenched all day on the 2 cars, and Linds came out and lended me a huge hand in the afternoon (THANK YOU LINDSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

1) Compression test: 155/153/167/171. Looks like a very healthy motor, although I'm going to try to do a full leakdown test soon to confirm this.
2) I drained the old oil from the car (took a sample for Blackstone Labs, sending out tomorrow), but left the old filter on. Poured 2/3 can of Seafoam in while I put some cheap wal-mart 5w30 oil in it; basically using it as a cleaner for the crankcase. Then ran engine between 1000 and 2000 rpms for 20 minutes. Drained oil, installed purolator filter with Castrol GTX 5w30. Outgoing oil was very black, despite it being fresh oil, hopefully that means a lot of shit came loose and out of the engine. Had to use my handy flathead oil filter removal tool b/c some people don't know how to put an oil filter on.

3) Put 6 gallons of 93 octane mixed with 2/3 can of Seafoam. Hopefully this will clean up any deposits in the fuel system. Will continue to run 87 octane under normal conditions.
4) Lindsey jumped in and cleaned the throttle body for me. I was in the car (see below) and gave virtually no direction or help and she came through with a sparkling result using a toothbrush and some Deep Creep.



5) I spent pretty much all afternoon removing wires from the inside of the car. I'm not sure if a home entertainment center was installed in the car sometime in the past, but apparently they forgot to take the wires with them when they decided it would be more functional in a house. So, I pulled it ALL out. I left the factory radio harness and there is one wire that I have not traced yet b/c I ran out of daylight. It was an absolute mess and took forever, but I'm glad it's done and I know I probably removed 10-20 lbs of crap i'll never use. Now to put in a new head unit and get some speakers that actually work. Any audiophiles got some recommendations and want to help a guy out?

So, yesterday I'm outside wrenching on my SE-Rs. I'm getting ready to use my jack, so I decide to move the supra so that I don't risk hitting it with the handle. I park it across the street almost sitting on the line opposite of the car I parked next to (providing as much space as possible for them to open the car; see picture below).
The girl comes out, opens the door to her purple late 90s V6 mustang, gets in and leans over to put stuff in her pass. seat and door proceeds to slam into my driver door. I heard it very clearly hit all the way across the street. Then, she proceeds to back out and drive by, and smiles at me as she passes by. I was in shock.
I go and look at it and almost cry. It's not that it is that bad (although it is for a door ding), but the utter disregard of somebody else's property and the absolute lack of care displayed made me want to kill her.
So, her boyfriend came out 10 minutes later, I point it out to him and tell him that I witnessed it and showed him the damage. Exchanged phone numbers and waited to see if she called me.
Fast forward 7 hours and she finally comes back and I'm still working on the cars (yeah, it was a long day). She pulls in and another car pulls in behind her, who turns out to be her mommy (this girl is at least 21 btw). I approach her and basically she is really sorry and explains that the wind just caught it (wind wasn't really blowing at that time, but I didn't dispute it). I ask if she wants to get her insurance company to cover it or if she just wants me to get estimates done and bring them to her. Mom steps in and asks where I'm going to get the estimates done and I tell her the two shops that I trust to do the work. Girlie talks about how a friend of hers took her car to a detailer and got a ding taken care of (I bet her friend still had paint where that ding was) and that her car had lots of dings in it (there are probably several thousand mustangs in this town, there are 6 mkIVsupras in a 30 mile radius). We agree to get this resolved after I get estimates done.
Took it to Michael's and Sunrise today and my quotes were $879 and $443. Quote at Michael's is b/c he wanted to blend the paint into the rocker and rear 1/4, Sunrise thinks a blend into the fender is all that is necessary. Either way, I've got a feeling this girl is going to think twice the next time she opens her door on a "windy" day. I know it is just a door ding, but it is the circumstances and manner in which it occurred and which car it happened to that upsets me. If I hadn't witnessed it, I never would have been able to recoop anything for a $500 repair bill.

Does this happen often?

i know i love watching it, but if you've never seen it i suggest tuning in. What i would give to be able to come away with one car from this place. This year they are selling the first 2006 Shelby GT500. But if you get the Speed Channel tune in at 7pm on Tuesday the 16th. Ill be watchin, you can also do fantasy bidding online as the auction is happening on certain cars. By the way last year 1 of 3 Harley Earl original concept cars went for 3 million, its the only surviving one of the 3 the others were crushed. pretty pimp.

Parting out an automatic E30 convertible. Most parts are available except for the seats, engine, hood, and front 2 body panels. The body panels are silver and in decent shape. Doors are in great shape and include red interior door panels. Automatic transmission shifts smoothly and will be available upon request.
