Got a ticket? You'll be paying it more then once
Posted by: mpg9999 - 02-22-2006, 05:09 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (24)

Dear Virginia NMA Member,

Delegate David Albo has found a way to make more money from your traffic ticket. He has introduced a bill, which has passed the House of Delegates, that would charge you annual fees dependant on the amount of points on your license.

The purpose of HB 314 is to "generate revenue from drivers whose proven dangerous driving behavior places significant financial burdens upon the Commonwealth."

The reality is that this is not geared towards dangerous drivers. This is a ploy to get more money from you. If you have four or more points on your license, you will be fined $100. If you have more than four points, you will be fined an additional $75 per point.

This is assessed annually. If you donÔÇÖt pay these fines within 60 days, your license will be revoked.

To rub salt into the wound, if you have a reckless driving ticket on your license within the last three years, you will pay an additional $350. Reckless driving could be as simply as failure to observe lanes marked for traffic.

If this bill passes, you can bet that issuing tickets like reckless driving and speeding will have even more emphasis than now.

Please take the time to contact your Senator and ask that they vote "NO" to H.B. 314. This is not about safety. This is about the state making more revenue from tickets.

  SOLD: Borbet Type E 14x6 4x100 38mm offset 14.5lb wheels
Posted by: BLINGMW - 02-22-2006, 01:33 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (11)

I've used these for about 2 years on my 318, but it's time to move on. The offset is a little high for an E30, but I understand that some of you Honda and VW guys might find them more suitable. They do come with the hub centering rings for an E30 that I got from tirerack if those do you any good. No cracks, they're straight, pics are from just weeks before I removed them, so you can decide for yourself if you think the nicks and such are too much for you. The clearcoat is peeling in some spots, the first two are more representitive of the true color, the others had some odd light or something. Enough talk. $200 pickup or $230 shipped No tires.

Oh, if any of you have an account on HT or VWVortex and have a couple minutes, could you litter this around for me?
