OK, oil light came on at the top of the mountain. Let the car cool down then the oil light went off when i crancked it back up. started driving oil light came on at lower RPMS kept it in higher RPMS to keep my OP up. Get back add some oil, light continues to flicker. so i get out there today, crank her up, no oil light, but ive got louder valve tick than normal. Any ideas??????

Oh yeah!! Twin turbos for a BMW? Yup. I am surprised nobody talked about this car earlier. It really surprised me to see BMW add forced induction to their line-up of naturally aspirated cars.

Chan and I took a drive up to Road Atlanta today to check out this awesome event. forecasts were for rain, but it ended up being cloudy with just a few drops to make a session or two interesting. this event looked the same as many i'd been to before: transporters everywhere, crouds of enthusiasts, the smell of uncatalyzed exhaust wafting through the spring air. however, after driving through the paddock for the first time it was clear just how unique this event would be.

many of the cars are among the only survivors of their kind, or at the very least very expensive machines fabricated entirely by hand. we saw it all -- Lotus Europas and Datsun 510 BRE's to Riley & Scott World Sports Cars and retired F1 cars. the event was sponsored in part by a local Mazda club, and being an event heralding old japanese racers meant that cool examples of contemporary japanese sports cars and racers were all over the place.

the racing was often times closer than i would ever expect drivers to put their rare cars through. lots of clean passing, dive bomb braking manuevers, and even a few good powerslides from the big boys meant that the action was always exceeding expectations. classes looked well appointed and although the field would always get fairly spread out, there was always an intense battle or two to keep track of. my only complaint was the lack of track time for the cars, it was usually only 7 or 8 lap sprint races.

during an intermission in racing, Chan and i checked out an autocross test drive being held by Lotus of Atlanta. the course was tiny but it was worth it, the elises were very entertaining. being a year under the required 25 year old age limit meant i had to ride shotty with a salesperson, but he was a very good driver and after the first turn i had totally forgotten about my dissapointment. for those of you who have not experienced a truly light, small vehicle before, you're doing yourself a disservice. it's amazing how diluted the driving experience is in our typical street cars. bribe, fight, offer sexual favors, whatever....find your way into an elise, it's worth it.

some definite highlights besides the lotus drive were seeing Jeff Brabham's old Nissan GTP car in action, as well as Shumacher's old Benneton F1 car. there was some great action from the vintage muscle car classes, which put on a great display of solid axle V8 oversteer and roaring soundtrack. i couldn't get enough of the old Datsun's either, the 510's and Z's were constantly breathing down each other's necks. the ticket lady was awesome too, and gave us a free infield parking pass, which gave us access to some prime vantage points. we also saw some quality deep south ricers and i ate half a turkey leg (gave the rest to Chan) during which time i felt like a total caveman, carrying around this monster peice of animal leg and tearing at it with my teeth. The Mitty is definitely on my calendar for next year!

On my way home today I was passing a house with a fenced-in back yard and a "Beware of Dog" sign. The dog (a Jack Russell) had apparently dug out of the yard. As I neared, he actually ran to intercept me. I braked a bit and then sped up, which has worked just fine on most of the dogs out here, but the little bastard actually adjusted his trajectory to match I ended up hitting him with the front tire, doing about 45mph, and he spun off the road. I took the bike home, then came back in my truck to see what the aftermath was.

The owner turned out to be a motorcyclist too and met me getting out of the truck to apologize and make sure that myself and the bike were ok. He apparently saw the collision from the front porch. As for the dog, it turns out I only broke one of his hind legs. Since it wasn't life threatening, none of the local vets would take him, so he gets a nice painful night of reflection and introspection before going to the vet in the morning.

I'm really glad that my dogs don't dig (much). Ride safe fellows.

Ok, I know there aren't too many e36 guys around here, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm selling the oem wheels from my 95 M3. Three of them are practically brand new and one of them has a small piece dented and chipped along the edge of the rim, but it still holds air perfectly. They are 17x7.5 et 41 (or 42, i forget). The bolt pattern is 5x120 and will fit on any e36.

This isn't my wheel, but this is what they look like:


Right now two of them have Michelin Pilot Sports on them which I'd guess have about 50% tread left. The other two have Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s (expensive ass tires!) that are pretty much brand new, but one of them has a small bubble in the sidewall.

For the last few months I have been slowly talking with my parents, edging them towards allowing me to buy a motorcycle. They were both concerned about my safety, but were both slowly coming to see my points, and I dont think I would have had much of a problem picking up a bike in a few months.

At about 9:30 this morning my dad called me. On his way to play golf this morning he was merging onto 395 when he looked and saw pieces of a motorcycle and a guys arm fly infront of his car. He stopped and called 911 and stayed there until they got there, only to see them "collect" the rest of the guy and the motorcycle. Obviously I hope this wasnt any of you guys, and Im fairly sure none of you live near the backlick road exit of 395. My dad said he wasn't totally sure what happened (either the guy was merging onto or off of 395 and got hit).

Anyway, any chance of myself getting a bike this summer are now gone. In the past my parents were not going to support me at all, but were not going to really fight me getting one. Now they dont want one anywhere near there house. To be totally fair I dont think its myself riding that scares them as much as myself riding in Northern Virginia. So essentially I have to wait atleast till this fall to start riding.

Anyway, just thought id share. Its amazing the turn of events one day can bring. I hope that the guy hit was not a friend of any of yours or you guys yourself.

I love my car to death.. I take care of it like the power of 1000 suns, but i am a poor college student and need money. My dad will give me his 1990 caddiliac broughm if i sell it so I am going to sadly try.

It is a 1991 mr2 with a few mods new motor has never been raced or dragged.

body is in good shape for 1991 the paint is OK and really nice when waxed. It is crimson red. There are a few minor dents on the body and some bubbling on the wing.

body mods are 1994+ JDM rear tails, 1993+ front lip, spyder front badge
wheels are 15X6.5 rota slipstreams with BRAND NEW less than 1000 miles bridgestone summer tires 225 rear 215 front. wheels are in perfect condition.

engine is a jdm 2nd generation with LSD installed and imported from PAautoracing. It boosts well no problems what so ever. oil changed every 2000-2500 with mobile 1. Here is a picture of my clip taken from dave's website. The engine has less than 45k on it. It has a brand new spec stage 2 clutch and all service was done when the engine was swapped. I recently had a boost leak problem but i fixed it yesterday. I would recommend 2 new couplers on the intercoolerpiping but thats all the car rreally needs at this point.

I will throw in a boost gauge, afm, pod, and a 3inch downpipe if you buy it.
