This Weekend's Racing on Speed Channel *CONTAINS F1 SPOILER*

10:00 pm FIM World Superbike Championship Race 1(Monza Tape Delayed)
11:00 pm FIM World Superbike Championship Race 2(Monza Tape Delayed)

Da Big Race
The big race to watch this weekend will be the AMA Supercross Finale. Ricky Carmichael (Suzuki) and Chad Reed (Yamaha) are tied for the championship lead and James "Bubba" Stewart (Kawasaki) is only 5 points behind. This means that if Reed or Carmichael wins or gets second ahead of one another they will win the championship. If Bubba wins and both Reed and Carmichael finish lower than second he will win the championship. I've gotta say my money is on Carmichael.

WSBK
World Superbike at Monza is almost always a great race because it is a home town advantage race for Ducati, who is leading the championship with 2 time champion Troy Bayliss at the helm. However, since Monza is a high speed track the Japanese 1000's will be tough to beat if they can conserve their tires.

Formula 1
Formula 1 should be a decent scrap since Nurburgring is the home track for 7 time champion Michael Schumacher and he'll be looking to follow up his win at Imola 2 weeks ago.

However, there is possible controversy looming on the horizon as to the legality of Ferrari (and other team's) front and rear wings. Don't be surprised to see some protest at the end of the weekend.

Enjoy!

This color and coupe combination I have a weakness for. No relation to the seller. I would buy it so quick if I was looking for a car right now:

Jet engines are cool, but there is no chance I would site a foot and a half from one while its running.

Since its most recent accident, my mom's passat has been making a rapid "tick tick tick" sound that is definetly coming from the front driver's side. The sound is very audible from even a couple feet away and only occurs when straightenig the wheel after making a left turn? Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciatted as my sister and I have to drive it from VA to RI next weekend.

  almost graduation time

I graduate BMT tomorrow. It's been 6 tedious weeks of 18 hour days but we're finally marching down the bomb run and then Monday rolling out to tech school. My first part of tech school enlisted aircrew undergraduate course (EAUC) is about three weeks long and will be held here in Lackland. After I graduate from EAUC I will head out to Monterey, Cali and begin my language classes at the Defense Language Institute.

Don't bother responding to this thread with a whole bunch of questions...I have limited access to the internet for the next week. I'll let you know when I'm back to being a real poster on this forum again.

  XBOX 360 games?
Posted by: WRXtranceformed - 05-04-2006, 07:29 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (20)

I just bought one of these for my birthday and it is fuckin sweet. It came with Project Gotham Racing 3 which is a pretty fun game, aside from the fact that you can't modify the cars. I also bought Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion which has probably the most unbelievable graphics of any game I've ever played. Sadly, I've found myself getting bored much quicker with RPGs than I used to when I used to session Everquest for 14 hours a day.

I rented Quake 4 and that game is fucking BADASS! So intense all the way through. I might buy that one. I also downloaded a demo of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and I'm DEFINITELY going to buy that game. WOW is all I can say.

Any other suggestions? I've played Perfect Dark: Zero which was ok, and Call of Duty 2 which was fun and looked great. What racing games are you guys playing on the 360?

  Definite next suspension mod...Finally found!
Posted by: D_Eclipse9916 - 05-04-2006, 02:01 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (32)

So ive been looking and looking browsing the boards looking for something to fix my camber. Camber kits are nice, but ive always wanted to go with something like adjustable control arms. Ive spent a whole year looking for, anything! I finally find this obscure little link today that has them!!!

Why buy camber kits when I can get a nice little forged alloy control arm!!! Muhahahahahha. Sorry I had to share this with someone because I almost shat my pants when I found these. Unfortunately the DSM market has shit-ton of engine and that kind of stuff, but we are behind the times in suspension development. 420 dollars isnt too bad considering it adjusts camber and caster and is lighter than the stock control arms.

PS- Yes I am pretty much eventually going to go all out with the suspension of this thing. I decided im not going to get another car, as gas prices do not justify getting another track car that honestly could be obsolete in the next 10-20 years.

Suspensions mods planned
-RM Sway Bars with custom endlinks
- ATI stage 2 dampening system for 2g including spherical top mounts
- These control arms
- Strut Bars (got em already)
- Roll Cage
- And of course replacing everything with better bushings.
- New tie rods (got em already)

(Yes im a little behind on getting suspension work done, but im almost done with my engine work so suspension next)

So yes anyone that is interested here is the link........

"SPC Performance is launching their "Pro Series" with a new line of high-performance forged upper control arms for 96 - 00. Constructed of aerospace aluminum alloy these arms are torsionally stiffer than the OE control arm and are anodized for improved appearance and corrosion resistance. One point adjustment for both camber and caster, with the caster adjustment featuring a "Positiveive lock" mechanism designed for high load acceleration and braking. With applications for racing, show and street tuners, these arms will be the aftermarket's choice when choosing a high end, light weight replacement arm to correct alignment angles and to save weight. This kit includes two front control arms."
