So here's a real sporty topic

I'm buying the Interceptor with an eye towards some longer trips. Rather than carry everything in a backpack (as is my usual uncomfortable custom), I'd like to hear what brands/styles of luggage you guys are using and having success with.

I tivo'ed WSBK races 1 and 2 at Brands Hatch today so I figured it'd be a good race to have a few folks over. Show at 7 so we can get both races in.

I'll be having sushi and Sapporo to celebrate the Honda F1 team's victory last Sunday ^_^

This is pretty impressive! This is currently the fastest USDM STi in the world with full interior, A/C, manual transmission, built by a crew in Puerto Rico. That run was done on STREET TIRES too! The ESX drag Subaru is in the 8s (or maybe lower), but that's also a stripped out, automatic-tranny'd drag car.

This STi has a built 2.65L Crawford motor with the Ultimate Racing GT40 kit (very similar to the one I'm running, but the GT40 is WAY bigger than the GT35R that I use) and a 4 speed PPG dogbox drag transmission.

That car is all over the track, must be crazy to drive!

Just thought I would post this on here. Its kinda pricey but it includes everything to swap to 5 lug correctly as well as upgrade shocks and springs in the process.

I'm not using this form of engine management anymore, so this is up for sale. I'm pretty sure the STi UTEC works on both the 2004 and 2005 STi.

I haven't looked through the box of uninstalled parts, but there should be everything you need to hook it up and transform your stock STi into the omfgst@gedSTi! I.E. all of the harnesses, etc. One thing it does not come with is the TurboXS ABC (boost control that allows you to switch boost levels through different maps without manually adjusting anything). You could probably get this through TurboXS, or run a manual boost controller like I did.

This also comes with the remote map selector, which looks like this:

It allows you to manually switch maps when you're under like 1500 rpms and fits right in one of your blank switch slots next to your Ebrake. It's pretty freakin sweet =D

This particular UTEC has a set of custom dyno tuned maps from TurboXS for my old setup (GT35R, TurboXS FMIC, 816cc injectors, etc etc). That's probably not going to do any of you all any good, but you can also download the latest UTEC software and base staged maps from the TurboXS website for free.

I can take pictures and stuff when I get back from the beach.

I'm asking $450, with the remote map selector, for any MM Subaru guy. If I put this on NASIOC, I'll probably ask $100 more.

A big bonus to this system IMO is that you can switch maps SO easily... even more easily than with an Accessport. TurboXS is not far away either, within an easy driving distance for a custom dyno/road tune

So, ever since the motorcylce bug bit me at the MSF class in June, I've been thinking about what kind of bike to get. I'm headed towards a full set of gear already, and now I'm getting serious about trying to find my *perfect* beginner bike. My thoughts on this matter are: cheap, something that I won't care if/when I drop it, something small enough to not get away from me, and something big enough that I won't be bored a month after I get it.

Clarification: I do NOT want a sport bike. I am too short. Even a standard (naked) sport bike like the Honda 599 does not let my feet reach the ground. Enough said. Small cruiser is the way to go for me. John has already tried to "sell" me his Ninja. :wink:

So, here are my top choices at this point (I have been to a couple of dealerships, and sat on all of the below):

1. Honda Shadow VLX 600
2. Kawasaki Vulcan 500

Also acceptable:
3. Suzuki Boulevard S50
4. Yamaha V-Star Classic

I would love to not spend more than $1500, since it will be my first bike.
I don't care what the paint looks like, as I will be taking the bike to a body shop and getting it painted PINK. Yes, pink. (That was one of the conditions John agreed to *while drunk, I'm sure, as he swears he doesn't remember* if I was willing to get a crappy old bike.)
