The next event coming up is on October 18th, and it's taking place on the Shenandoah Circuit. Driving cost is $125, but guys, you've gotta at least swing by and catch some rides with some of these drivers. Ride-alongs are free all day, and they even give out helmets there.

There's also the wet skidpad you can give your car a try on for, I think, $20 all day. It's a neat way to begin to learn your car's abilities of getting sideways.

I am planning on attending as usual, although the car is not together, so I will just be filming again. Let me know if anyone's interested in making it out! I can point ya to the right guys to catch some rides with! Should be an epic day of fun!

Hello my name is Rob Feerst, and I live in San Antonio, TX.

I drive a 2002 CD-Silver Focus SVT. Build number 3636. My wife drives a 2007 Honda Civic.

I was an ISAT major at JMU and graduated in 2005. I joined MM in Fall 2001. I lived in the Commons Apartments during my Junior and Senior years at JMU, and it was the best!

I have autocrossed once, and it was in a 1989 Buick Century. I also took out Kaan's CRX on track at Summit Point during the pace car led thing during lunch. Can't remember what it was called.

I have been gone from MMsports.org for about the last year, but I am trying to see what is going on in MM. I lived in Springfield, VA for 26 years, and got the opportunity to locate to Texas. I knew it was the place for me, when I could afford a SFH here.

Seems like MM is doing great. Anyone with questions about the environment, or transportation fields, shoot me a PM. I am an Environmental Scientist.

Actually kinda saddened by this one. Given that they were essentially an experiment from the beginning, they were always kind of innovative, they taught GM how to sell cars and make a better product. Definitely not one of those "deserving" brands, IMO.

Hey all I'm Andrew Jones and I am a freshman this year at JMU. I found MM at student org night and was really pumped to get involved. I have worked on cars since I was really little with my dad and grandpa and still do today. I am really interested in doing autocross and hope to do some events this year. I do not have my car at JMU. I drive a 2000 Acura Integra LS. My mods are as follows:

-AEM CAI
-Apex'i WS2 catback (not a fart cannon)
-TWM performance stage 2 short throw shifter
-Calipers painted silver to look as if they are new
-OEM Raybrig Fogs with Nokya yellow Bulbs
-4300k HID's
-ASR Rear subframe brace with an ITR 22mm Swaybar
-16x7 Rota c10's wrapped in BFGoodrich gforce sport tires.
-Tint
-Pioneer Component speakers in the front (I am really into car audio as well as performance)
-Sony headunit with bluetooth
-Glowshift Oil pressure and Volt Gauge

By the end of the semester I plan to install:
-Function & Form Type 1 coilovers
-Memphis Audio 15-PR12S4 woofers with a powerbass asa 600.2 amp.

Long term I want to either swap the motor for a k series (k24a) or JDM ITR motor (b18c) or build my head and boost this motor (b18b1) with a full synapse ac friendly kit.

I have for sale 2 Momo supercups in black for sale. These also have 2g brackest bolted onto them for eclipses so these will bolt in 95-99 eclipses. They are gorgeous and are in almost brand new condition, there are a few scrapes on the back/mountng areas, but cannot be seen regularly. Only if your looking for them. Other than that they are a deep black and are a clean yellow for the stitching. These are FIA certified 07 so they are good to go in your race car!

I just want to make sure "deadly floor mats" don't take out any MMers or your families. It would be quite embarrassing. In case of severe floor mat attack where the floor mat cannot be quickly removed by your foot, try these survival techniques in this order:

Use the other pedal beside the gas pedal instead of calling 911. The brakes on any car are much stronger than the engine.

Shift into neutral (I'm assuming deadly floor mats don't usually attack manual transmission drivers).

Turn off the engine. Often this is done by doing the reverse of whatever you did to turn it on.

Use the emergency brake. I know, you may have thought it was called the parking brake, but it may prove useful since parking is your ultimate goal.

Once stopped, use a long sharp stick to dislodge the floormat and pull it on to the ground. Keep a safe distance, call 911 and await a hazmat or wildlife control truck to deal with it. Do not touch or further provoke the floor mat without proper protective equipment and training.

Don't call us (or sue us) if you fail to stop the car. There is NO CHANCE the braking system, shifter mechanism, parking brake, and ignition all failed at the exact same time.

First, I wish they'd word this correctly. The negligent driver killed his family. I know, it's a terrible thing to say. But if someone dies because of a stuck gas pedal or throttle body, it's safe to say it was really the driver's fault, not the car. News stories about car crashes are always worded this way though. "The car left the roadway and struck a tree, killing all the occupants", instead of "The DRIVER failed to stay on the road and guided their innocent car into a tree. Though dead, he/she is still being charged with 3 counts of manslaughter".

This kind of thing pisses me off. And no points for Toyota rolling over and dying on this one. I would have said, "Hey, take out your damn floor mat if you can't handle it, but our floor mats are no more dangerous than anyone else's and we will accept no hint of liability. GTFO."

No. IF YOU ARE SLIDING, KEEP YOUR HANDS ON THE WHEEL AND KEEP TRYING TO DRIVE. Jesus was a carpenter 2000 years ago. He has no experience driving a car, let alone recovering from a skid.

I figured I have procrastinated enough on posting this up- and finally had some time to do it so here goes--

I'm David-- a Junior this year and member of MM since freshman year. My freshman year I didnt have a car around so it was mainly ride alongs and checking things out. I started looking at cars the end of my freshman year and talked to Adam about his WRX... And I was hooked. It was everything I wanted: a fun, quick car but with 4 doors and enough room, plus AWD for snowboard trips. I bought my 02 last summer with around 50,000 miles on it.

Right after I bought her--


The car was great stock- but of course the mod-bug bit within a couple months. Over the past year I have done the basics- with a focus on autox in the last couple months or so. So as she sits now-- Turbo-back exhaust, prodrive springs, 24mm sways F&R, 17x7.5 Tarmacs with 235 Direzza Star specs.

I think I have done 8 autocrosses now- and have really enjoyed the car for that.





I guess I am also one of MM's big photo buffs- although I feel like that number grows every year! I work for JMU Sports Media and shoot most games, events, etc. So if you see me on the sidelines be sure to yell at me. On the same note I get to play around with a lot of really cool equipment- I was hoping to write up something for the alum MM photo guys on our new D3!

I'm Seth and I am now a senior at JMU majoring in TSC and have finished minors in HRD and CIS. I transferred here in Spring 2008 so haven't had the benefit of being here as long as most of the other guys. Luckily I met Paul in an HRD class and he told me to come out the Spring car show. I want to attend as many meetings/drives/whatever this year but so far keep missing them! I drive a 2004 SRT4 that I have dumped way too much money on, but not in comparison so what some of the other guys have, haha. I started autocrossing in 2005 which is right after I purchased the SRT4, but have only spectated since I transferred to JMU. I also got to attend the Evolution Performance Driving school in Danville but haven't had the opportunity to participate in any tracks days. Hopefully once I graduate I can get a nice boring car tow vehicle and track the SRT4.
