  2010 Moto Track Day Season
Posted by: G.Irish - 01-31-2010, 07:05 PM - Forum: Motorcycles - Replies (8)

I'm starting to scope dates for track days next year and was wondering what events people were interested in doing so maybe we can go to the same events and pool costs.

I'd only be looking to do Friday, Saturday, or Sunday events and I'd prefer not to do Shenandoah or VIR Patriot unless I share rides with someone on something less than the 1000. Although I guess I could try it out to see how it goes.

Here are some events that I was looking at for April/May (the ones I might wanna go to are marked with an *), what are you guys interested in?

April
Sat - Apr 3: NJMP Thunderbolt (NESBA) $205 *
Sun - Apr 4: NJMP Thunderbolt (NESBA) $205 *
Sat - Apr 9: SP Shenandoah (TPM)
Sun - Apr 10: SP Shenandoah (TPM)
Sat - Apr 24: NJMP Thunderbolt (TPM) *
Sun - Apr 25: NJMP Thunderbolt (TPM) *

May
Sat - May 1: Beaverun (NESBA) $165 *
Sun - May 2: Beaverun (NESBA) $165 *
Sat - May 8: SP Shenandoah (TPM)
Sun - May 9: SP Shenandoah (TPM)
Fri - May 14: VIR-North (NESBA) $185 *
Sat - May 15: VIR-South (NESBA) $165
Sat - May 15: NJMP Lightning (NESBA) $205 *
Sun - May 16: NJMP Lightning (NESBA) $205 *
Sun - May 23: VIR Patriot (TPM)
Sat - May 29: NJMP Thunderbolt (TPM)
Sun - May 30: NJMP Thunderbolt (TPM)

Spring 2010 - Schedule of Events
Posted by: Jake - 01-31-2010, 03:40 PM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (2)

Here's the 'official' MM schedule for the spring 2010 semester. As always, dates are subject to change but 99% finalized at this point. Individual topics regarding each event will be posted as dates get closer.

Spring 2010 Schedule

February 19-21
NASA at VIR for the weekend. MM is bringing 5 of us from JMU to work, plus alumni.

March 20-21
Autocross with BRR-SCCA in Verona. The 20th is Test & Tune, 21st is the actual event.

March 26-28
NASA at VIR again, definitely bringing workers down again.

April 3
Madison Motorshow... date and parking lot are confirmed at this point.

April 4
Autocross with Shenandoah Porsche Club in Verona.

April 10
Ferrari of Washington tour, 11 AM. Food to follow at Jake's parents' place (in Broadlands, ~10 min from dealer)

April 11
Autocross with BRR-SCCA in Salem.

April 17-18
NASA at Summit Point. MM will probably be making a day trip from JMU, most likely on Sunday the 18th, for rides/touring laps.

April 24
Legendary karting at G-Force in Richmond. Hoping Goodspeed can join us this round Big Grin

Iron Man race this Sunday at G-Force?
Posted by: professor - 01-29-2010, 03:21 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (3)

G-Force in Richmond is advertising an Iron Man kart race for this Sunday, Jan. 31, at 6 pm. The race will last an hour, and the fee is $100. No pit stops. No driver changes.

I'm in, but that brings their total to four, and they'll require at least six racers for the event. (No more than ten racers in the event.) If you're up for it, give G-Force a call (804.228.0188), and let them know to expect you. Call on Sunday, too, before heading down there. If at least six racers don't sign up, they won't hold the event until next month.

  MM Hoodies
Posted by: D_Eclipse9916 - 01-29-2010, 03:00 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (8)

Let me start by saying this is in no way competing or undermining the MM apparel order. This was for myself at first, and then some of my friends were interested so I figured I would let others in on this.

These are completely "unofficial" and for personal use only Hoodies that I will be ordering. This is exactly how it will be laid out and will be using Champion name-brand hoodies. It will be $40 each, plus paypal fees if you want to pay me over paypal. I am not making any money on these, and if we possibly get enough people, I am hoping for a price break.

If you dont like the hoodie/idea etc, dont post, simple. If you are interested I need you to please put your name, Size for a champion heavyweight hoodie, and how many you want....Ill even give you a format.

1. Don Fitzpatrick Large 1
2. Mike D'Amico Medium 1
etc etc.
**** NOW WILL BE IN BLACK WITH WHITE LETTERING AND FLAG!***

  Tonight! Open House for MM
Posted by: Jake - 01-29-2010, 10:37 AM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (5)

It was in the email, but just in case some people read the forums more than their email... the Davids are having MM over tonight to their place in Pheasant Run. We'll be rockin' some spaghetti, Forza, and a showing of Love The Beast.

Go time is 5:30 but you are welcome to stop in whenever. We'd recommend taking the bus as visitor parking in P-Run fills up on Fridays around noon. No joke. If you drive and can't find a Viz Spot, you can also park down by Jenkins Automotive.

I'm not going to post their exact house number on here but if you don't know where we are, give either one of them - or myself - a call and we'll let ya know.

  Charles Daly 1911 2 Tone Tactical -- $350
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 01-28-2010, 11:04 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (3)

Well, Jeff welshed on me so I'm putting my 1911 up for sale here.
OK. I'm selling my 1911. It's a good gun, if a little ugly. It's got some holster wear on the front of the slide, and "idiot marks" on the frame. Slide is black, frame is stainless.

I don't know how many rounds are through it, as I bought it used. But the rifling in the barrel is sharp, looks like it's french. (You know, carried alot, fired little, dropped once. )

I've got 2 mags. One totally shitty Charles Daly mag that I suggest you throw straight in the trash, and one good (really good) Chip McCormick mag that works great.

I'm also throwing in 100 rounds of Winchester white box .45ACP. Without a .45 I've got no use for .45 ammo now have I?

All for the princely sum of Tree Fiddy. ($350.00 USD)

Answers to questions:

Will you take $X?
No. I'm very firm on my price. It's a decent piece of steel for the money, and more than fair. Anything less than tree fiddy and I'll keep it.

What do I need to buy your gat?$350 Dollars cash money, proof of age (DL will do) and proof of non-felon status. I'll accept CHP or Voter Card. I don't want a copy or anything, I just need to see it.

Rex, Looks Awesome! I only have 100 bucks right now but I'll have more soon will you save it for me/take payments? Not on your life, buddy. It's not that I don't trust you, you have a very kind face and I'm sure your mom thinks you're awesome but I got things I want to buy, so no deal. Come back when you have $350.

OK, fine Rex. Where are the pictures already?Right here, homie.

By far this is my new favorite car...
Posted by: terdcivic - 01-28-2010, 09:26 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (3)

Some of you may have seen this already, but I just discovered it the other day.

This is Michael Schumacher driving his Ferrari FXX as the stig on Top Gear; and I've read that his is the only black FXX in existence.
He beat every single other cars lap time by ~6.5 seconds...insane

Hey people, I'm Chris and I'm a junior International Business major. I actually joined spring of 2009 but only went to a few events. I was abroad this past fall, so now I'm trying to be more involved with this club. I drive a black 2004 RX8, tinted and de-badged so I added at least 60 hp. I also own a 1972 Camaro RS/SS which was my first car. It's currently motionless in my driveway at Smith Mountain Lake, VA (about an hour from Roanoke). I've been in love with cars ever since one of my friends introduced me to a 1964 Plymouth Valient when i was like 9 years old.
Other than cars I like normal things: food, friends, beer. Wakeboarding is a hobby even though I haven't quite reached the mediocre level yet.
Well, if for some reason you're like to know more, feel free to contact me, face book stalk me, real life stalk me, I'm a pretty approachable dude.
Also, apparently I'm computer illiterate and can't get a picture of myself to load on here, but here are my cars:
