Installed an aluminum radiator with 2 fans and new blingin samco hoses.
According to DSMlink cars temp is around 216, whether sitting at a light or going 80 on the highway. During a hard pull it went up to 219. Lowest I've seen it stay steady at is 210.
Thermostat opens in a pot of water slowly starting at 180 to fully open at 195.
Burped the system a million times with heat on full blast.
No obvious/visual leaks.
Added a turbo blanket and heat wrap and temps have not changed. Reason I'm worried is 2 others with the same setup (DJ and Jason) were seeing temps of 190.
Coolant mixture of about 70 water 30 coolant with a bottle of water wetter.
Thoughts on wtf is going on?

As many of you know I work as the summer help at Martin's German Service in Roanoke. We service and sell all flavors of German cars, with a heavy focus on Porsche. My boss has a personal collection of a dozen or so cars, some of them exceedingly rare and expensive.
But this little tale is about none of these things. Last summer I used to go up and mow the lawn or trim the edges of the little old man's property behind our shop. I got to do something for free for someone, while my boss was actually paying me, so it was a win-win. Little did I know, this little old man was the baddest Mo-fo alive.
At the age of 83 and in poor health he refused to live anywhere but in his own house, and on the Saturday before Easter he was feeling unwell and drove himself to the hospital. Early Easter morning he passed away.
My boss called me and told me the story, and that he was going to buy the property, have me repair and freshen up the house, and rent it as part of my work this summer. When I showed up on Monday morning to actually work, I walk up front to the showroom and see an old Harley in REALLY good condition. hi2uuu.
After nagging a little, I got the Hog's full story.
Roy was sent overseas during WWII. He remained stationed briefly after the war ended, and all he could think about (I'm embellishing here a little) was a Harley. In 1947 he sent his Mother the deposit for a Blue 1947 Harley Davidson Knucklehead so he could secure it. He came home and paid the rest. He's had it, since 1947.
He has ridden it for 3153 miles, in 67 years. The last time he rode it was last year. An 82 year old man calmly fired up a knucklehead beast with a suicide shifter of death. Most people I know would never ride a bike with a suicide shifter if you payed them, and that's why he's a total BAMF. 8)
He was a cool dude. Nicest guy you've ever met, American Soldier, and an amazing example of keeping and treasuring a possession instead of buying and selling all the time like I do.

Hyperfest at Summit is already filling up. Signed up to instruct, who else is in?
Is anyone interested in forming a 4-man team for the 8-10PM sat night kart enduro? I think that makes it $40/person.
Someone split a room with me too. The more the merrier (cheaper).

I know some of you probably dabble in makeup, or maybe even wear it full time. My g/f somehow got some kind of black makeup in the sink, and when i was cleaning it, it smeared, and the smear is like permanent now. I tried stovetop cleaner, regular cleaner, windex, blah blah blah, and nothing is making it even budge.
The sink is made of some kind of fake porcealan counter top stuff, but i dont know what it's called.
Any ideas for getting it off?

In light of the fact that I haven't played with any of my guns in a couple years, I'm thinning my collection out.
This means I'm selling the best revolver ever made. The M15-3 was made from the 60's to the late 70's, and was the exact same as the Military and Police issue .38, except it has adjustable sights. This means if your daddy or granddaddy was a cop, he carried a gun just like this.
If I'm reading into the stamping properly, this is a 1973 build, but they were all the same. According to the old fellow we bought it from, he carried it for years but rarely, rarely fired it. This means the gun is showing some holster wear, but the important bits are still fresh n'tight.
I've put a good number of rounds through this gun and I know why everyone says its the best .38 (Don't believe me? Read here to see why I'm an idiot for selling it. http://thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=273458) The gun is powerful but incredibly smooth and easy to control. You can settle into a good stance and let all 6 rounds go in a row without ever feeling like you have to "readjust" that much, if you're into that kinda thing.
The trigger is smooth, its accurate, easy to control, and I don't want to sell it, but I need the money and I haven't used it, nor will I until after college, at which point I'll buy another just like it.
The Skinny: Its Blued, 4in Barrel, 6 Round Wheel, Double Action, No Manual Safety, some noticeable Holster Wear (its part of the charm, its from 1973), Has gay ass plastic grips on it which I can replace if the buyer so desires, or if the buyer has their favorite grips already picked out, you can have it as is.
The buyer will get the gun, a bitchin black leather hip holster, and all the ammo I have left for it, as well as some snake shot rounds (great for pest (roommate) deterrence. (Except the roommate part, guns are weapons and that's not funny, except the snake shot just stings a lot so it wouldn't be that bad, but really don't kid around about that sort of thing)
I'm listing it here first because 1.) I know a lot of MM guys are into guns as much as they are cars (Cabell, Kaan?) 2.) I like selling the things I'm fond of to friends so I know they are getting loved and I can visit them every once in a while (ex. My buddy has the steering wheel out of my E46) 3.) Most of you probably aren't serial killers, which is nice.
Price: $350 OBO, Talk to meh.
*Pics tomorrow, I left my camera at work and won't insult you with phone pics.

Attention speed junkies,
WKA (World Karting Association) is having their Road Racing series event at VIR the weekend of July 30-Aug 1. Yes this is Friday through Sunday. Friday is a day long practice session followed by races run all day Sat and Sun. My dad and I plan to go to this regardless if we race or not so I will be there!!
I think this would be a grand opportunity for some you to get your foot in the door or perhaps get your first laps around a track in a go-kart. You can always come down for the day or camp out/stay at a hotel and stay the whole weekend. It's a different approach to racing and bring your car....cause in the chance that it rains-cars go out on the track to dry it off Oh and side note, the karts run on half of the track, the other half is usually motorcyles races, which can be fun to spectate! As soon as I know how much pit passes are I will let you know but it's usually not too bad.
Anyway here is the website...they will update information for VIR in a few weeks. http://www.worldkarting.com/pg/series/rr/rr-main.html
Hope you guys are having a great start to your summer!!

I've recently picked up a mitsubishi td04h -15g turbo, downpipe, charge piping and manifold for a pretty decent price. There are a couple things i'd like to do, but am not sure if i have the proper skill and/or knowledge.
1. I'd like to do a rebuild on it to get all the bearings and everything cleaned out and get it looking so fresh and so clean clean. Dj, would you be willing to either help me out, walk me through it, or possibly do it for me if i paid you?
2. Regarding the internal wastegate, My goal with the build i'm planning is to have between 200 and 250 to the wheels. Obviously with a small turbo, and small wastegate, this will probably be pushing the limit of the turbo, but i like how small the turbo is and how fast it will spool. I'm going to be doing all of the supporting mods to hopefulyl get around that goal, including the hondata s300 for tuning purposes. My question is, will the stock internal wastegate spring be able to get me to that power level? and if not, how hard is it to convert to an external wastegate?
and just to reduce questions, i'm rebuilding te bottom end of my stock d16a6 with forged internals, .5mm oversized pistons, and stock head. no vtec i'll be running rc injectors, walbro fuel pump, and all the necessary fuel upgrades to go along with the extra boost, as well as an intercooler. sotck motor is rated at 106, so this will be a big jump, and i am hoping to run around 12 psi, as that is what i've read is about the peak of the efficiency range for this turbo, but correct me if i'm wrong.
