So I was doing my usual pursuing of CL this morning at work while on hold with Cisco and came across a 1988 Audi 80 Quattro... anybody know anything about theses cars.. Did a little googling and figured out they came with a I4 or I5 motor.. Thought it might be kinda different to have one.. like I said was just bumping around CL and it caught my interest.. could be a fun beater/autox saloon.. Opinions?

I doubt this will interest anybody on here, but it's worth a shot if you know someone looking for a cheap commuter car. Sam is selling her old Spectra GS. As much as I hate to admit it, this really isn't a bad car for what it is. I've put a decent amount of miles on it and it provides no thrills driving, but always gets you A to B and gets around 30mpg doin it. It's green, cloth interior, power nothing, does have a/c though. She's been keeping this car as a backup for her and her mom/moms bf/brother but we are moving and could use the cash for some stuff around the house. It's got about 112k miles on it, she's owned it since it had 3k on it. No wrecks, but it does have the customary female driver dents/dings/scratches, but nothing horrible. MM price is $2,000. I can assure you Sam won't take less than that and it's below KBB price. If you know anyone that needs a good commuter car or a first car for a kid let me know. Also, decent tires, new brakes about 2 months ago.

Seems like a ridiculous steal for a little dent and a torn seat. I emailed him and he said the tires and brakes are good, and he has a clean title in hand. I asked him if I could go check it out tomorrow. I don't even get my license until the weekend of the 11th, but I'd hate to miss a steal like this.
Thoughts, warnings?

So I have this '97 318ti. I don't know what my options are when it comes to OBDII tuning. I see lots of neat software packages with cables that let you interface with the OBDII port from:
AutoEnginuity
Scantool
Autosoft
Innovate makes some things too
But each of them offer all kinds of options, and I have no clue which way I should go. Any recommendations?
As I understand it, none of those let me change anything though, right? I'm also interested in replacing the front O2 sensor with Innovate's LC-1 and sensor, and emulating the narrowband input for the ECU, but again, I still can't change fuel, timing, or AFR. So is there some way to mess with that stuff without spending a whole lot, or do you still have to pay for specific ECU reflashes?
I guess the ECU should automatically adjust for exhaust, intake changes, so maybe I should just assume it's doing its job and not bother?

So on my way to work this morning (on Stuart Mill Road in Oakton), Bambi and her friend jumped over a fence and landed about 10 feet infront of me. One was in my lane, one was on the the double yellows. Needless to say i hit the one in my lane. I kept on the throttle, kept the bike straight, and threw Bambi to the side of the road. I am fine... the bike needs a couple parts... and i never hit the ground.
is this a wreck?
ps- anyone got 99-02 R6 parts laying around? i didnt think so.

So I figure I'll put a quick coat of wax on the track car after washing it today. I used some inexpensive turtle wax (used a couple times before on other cars). Washed, dried car, applied wax with sponge thing, mostly in the shade, pretty much like I always do.
I go over the whole car pretty quickly, then come back to where I started to wipe it off. And I'm having to scrub it with a rag to get it off. :finger: Normally it just crumbles away, wiping it all off takes just a couple minutes. I didn't even get the whole top done, tried a few other spots and it's just as annoying. :dunno:
wtf? Now I have this swirlified car in the garage. I guess I'll attempt to wash it again in the morning.

They are running a show about how Mr. Honda built the motorcycle empire. Great story of nearly bankrupting the company to run the Isle of Man TT and some other major turning points.
There is a quick spot where they start one the early race bikes outside and I think it's the same guys from the 250cc inline 6 video. They break out the little tire spinner, start it and then feel the head while it's running. They must do that a lot...
