Did anyone bother with US Top Gear on History last night? It was pure rubbish.

Ever have one of those days where you ask yourself "what did I just get myself into?" Today is one of those days for me. Behold car #4 -

Car background:

This car was owned by the father? of one of Jeff's friend's (Phil), who then sold it to a family friend, who at some point (around 2 years ago) gave it back to Phil. After that, the car sat under a tree with a dead fuel system collecting 2 mouse nests, 2 wasps nests, a moldy interior (leaking door seals and windshield), non-functional everything and a protective layer of algae and moss.

The car has a 318 V8 with some sort of automatic transmission. The only thing that I have been able to verify so far is that the trunk and fuel cap open, that the car will stop if you slam it into park while it is moving, and that the electrical system most likely has a huge short somewhere in it (almost 0 resistance between chassis and + battery cable).....

Step #1 will be to get the electrical system under control, and to gut the entire interior. More to come...

Long shot - WTB Snap-On KRA series side locker
Posted by: Jeff - 11-21-2010, 11:20 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (1)

I know it's along shot but some of you guys work at shops so maybe someone knows someone who knows someone. I just got a crazy retard deal on a Snap-On KRA series ("Heritage") toolbox. It wasn't what I originally wanted but it turned out to be prefect for what I need but I sure would like a side locker for it. I don't care what color, I will paint it. So if anyone knows someone looking to upgrade their snap-on that might separate their box and sell a locker let me know. My setup is blue...so that would be nice.

Considering an S15 conversion down the road so nothing right now that will cut into my go fast parts spending but just wanted to get some ideas in my head for down the road.

In case you don't know what an S15 conversion is because you drive an M3 or somethin.

  Motorcycle Storage
Posted by: Levey - 11-15-2010, 10:52 PM - Forum: Motorcycles - Replies (2)

So me and David Meyer are saving the headache of driving our bikes 2 hours home only to have to bring them back in the spring by putting them in a storage unit here in Harrisonburg for the cold months. We could probably fit one more, so if anybody wants to join us, we could split the rent 3 ways which would make it pretty damn economical. Feel free to call me at 540 875 9096 if any of you guys or maybe a friend is interested

FS. Chevy Silverado 2500HD Duramax 6.6L Diesel
Posted by: jongp3 - 11-15-2010, 05:19 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (2)

Future Father in-law is trying to sell his truck, his wife is going through cancer and he needs to sell it to pay bills.

Asking $28,500

Pretty sure it's a 2008 with 59,000k
Chevy Silverado 2500HD XL Extended Cab with a Duramax Diesel 6.6L and Allison Transmission.

Extra's include, spray on bedliner and bed top, Polk Audio Speakers, OEM XM radio.

He also has a Super chips programer, Heavy duty springs and billet grill cover, power trailer brake booster but you'll have to talk him into including all of that.

Everything is in great condition, paint, interior, tires 9 out of 10. He used it to tow a trailer to a local hunting site and commuting once a week to Roanoke. Would be great to tow a race trailer with.

His name is Rick he can be reach at 540-810-1578 during the day. I'll post pics when i get some.
