NASA Autocross at VMP January 23
Posted by: Sully - 12-09-2010, 02:19 AM - Forum: Events - Replies (19)

First Autocross posted for NASA Mid-Atlantic.
It will be Sunday January 23rd at Virginia Motorsports park.
Pre-registration is open and 56 spots open as of now.
These autocrosses fill up fast (Maybe not in the cold) and this was an awesome course last time.
This is a Very Big Lot.
Sign-up here:
https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1050

BTW: Virginia Motorsports Park is near Petersburg, VA or maybe 30min south of Richmond.

(Sorry Jake, figured you would post this when you got a chance but thought I'd help out)

There's parking on the street in front of the house or in the neighborhood.

I'll supply the bird and probably do some sweet potatoes, and maybe some desert foods. What I need from you donkeys:

- Beer
- Side dishes
- Desert dishes

For the beer it may be easier if 1 or more of you chip in and get a 1/6 keg of something decent. Westover Market is nearby and has these or the charlottesville crew could bring up some starr hill (hint). I think last year someone brought a couple of cases of natty light - dont do that again, I'll cut you. A few 6 packs wouldnt hurt also to add some variety to the beer selection.

If you need to crash here, let me know.

So yeah, ALMS and Indy are coming to Baltimore on the streets!!! I remember vaguely when I was much younger the Washington DC ALMS event and cant wait to see it locally again. I just bought my 3 day pass, going to be interesting doing SCCA Solo Nationals and Pro Solo the 27th-31st in Lincoln Nebraska, driving back to Baltimore for this the 2nd through the 4th and then NASA Nationals 8th-10th. I better have the car prepped early

  Old baseball cards
Posted by: ScottyB - 12-08-2010, 12:45 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (1)

i recently uncovered my old baseball cards that i collected as a kid from about '86 to '92. the collection was lost for about 20 years so almost all of the cards are in awesome shape having not been handled and stuck in storage for that long. i don't know a ton about cards but a bit about the sport/teams in general so these may be crap or actually something worth someone's time...i'll let you decide.

first up are some cards that are all in anywhere from excellent-mint to near-mint shape. some big names and alot of well knowns. 74 cards total in the shown plastic sleeves. $15 OBO?

on deck (heyo! ) is probably....300?....assorted cards that are either very popular players or average joes, not worth a lot. most are excellent with a few near-mints. might be useful for someone looking to collect an entire team and already has the big names. i'll put as many cards in the plastic sleeves shown as possible, the remainder will be carefully bundled. $5?

if you're looking for a player just ask and i'll see if i can find him - or if you want a list of names of some of the included players in the lots i'll pick out some notables. i'm happy to "part out". i'll try to keep shipping as cheap as possible.

i've got some other cards up on ebay as well, just check out my username on there.

  Red Bull Hook Up???
Posted by: Cody - 12-07-2010, 09:24 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (2)

Hey everyone. I just got a job with Red Bull as the student brand manager for JMU. Besides having a plethora of liquid fury I'm going to have to give out there are a couple of strings I'm gonna try to pull for MM. I would LOVE to get a Red Bull athlete down here for MM's car show April 3rd. My zone of athletes range from VA to Maine so it includes the likes of Brian Vickers(although he's NC), Ryan Tuerck (drift), Travis Pastrana (MD). I don't know how far reaching it is to get them yet, I'll find out more in the coming weeks. But if you know Red Bull athletes (or people that are sponsored) that are associated with something with four wheels let me know their names. It could end up being an autograph signing by a "who's that?" or maybe we can get Red Bull's subaru show car down here Confusedhock:
SUGGESTIONS PLEASE

F/S - Viper Keyless Entry system and install if needed
Posted by: Jeff - 12-07-2010, 10:44 AM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (1)

I have the basic Viper Keyless system 211HV for sale. It has been installed once in my truck and worked great. It was only on there for about 3 months. I just upgraded to a Python remote start system because it is effin cold out there! System is complete and includes 2 remotes. I will install it if you would like. If you want keyless and you don't have power doorlocks that can also be worked out just PM or post here. $25. I would probably do $75 installed if the car already has power door locks.

  A Children's book: Fropplelee
Posted by: ScottyB - 12-04-2010, 04:56 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (22)

Some of you may have seen this already but I thought I'd post this here since we have some club members with lil' ones. My old JMU roomate and I have worked over the past year on this book, and it's finally done. He's an English major and a talented story teller, and has put together a pretty neat little tale about a group of magical creatures on an island called Fropplelee. It's about 40 pages and a little more than half are illustrated in watercolor, which is where I came in. The language is about right for a 2nd or 3rd grade reading level but younger kids would probably love to read along with their parents.

I can't offer any discount for MM'ers unfortunately, but we'll certainly sign the book for you and include a Fropplelee bookmark. We will ship out all books around the 7-10th so there will be time to wrap or ship before Christmas. Any support is appreciated, even if it means just mentioning it to a friend. Thanks so much, we're very grateful for the response we've received and continue to receive!
