So, without going into a lot of graphic details lets suffice it to say that something happened and now my older brothers car has a distinct odor inside. I've cleaned it inside and out, shampooed most of the carpets, used turtle wax interior cleaner on all inside surfaces and currently have 3 air freshners sitting inside of it. However when you get in the car it still has a wiff of that odor. What further can I do? I've thought about sprinkling baking soda on the carpets and vacuuming it up? Other ideas? Thanks.

Finally sold the Evo and got into something else that is a little (a lot) more livable as a daily driver. While it doesn't handle as well and doesn't have the "cool" factor of the Evo, it is definitely far more enjoyable to cruise around in. Evo's are really only enjoyable to drive when you're driving them hard. Otherwise, they are pretty miserable.

I know I said I was looking at some other newer cars as well, but I ended up not liking any of them enough to justify spending 20k+ on so I got something to hold me over until I can afford a C6 Z06 or something similar in a couple years.

It's a 2002 Trans Am WS6 in the Sunset Orange Metallic pearl color (1 of 304 manual ws6's in that color). This color ranges from dark red in the shade to copper to bright orange to gold depending on the light. It has the standard LS1 which makes about 345hp stock. They were technically only rated at 310 at the crank, but it is the same motor as the one in the Corvette. The firebird/camaro was underrated by GM for whatever reason. They tend to dyno around 300-310whp stock for the later years like this one.

So far the only thing I really don't like about the car is the awful handling. Having said that, I plan to correct that very shortly with a set of Koni's and Stranos springs. Other than that, mod plans for the summer include a new set of wheels and tires when these tires are finished and possibly some other handling mods like sub frame connectors and sway bars. For now, I'm happy with the 300ish whp that this motor puts out.

Overall, I love the color and am definitely happy with the car considering it was about half the price of my evo, only has 50k miles, and I got it for 3k under KBB private party value.

Hey everyone,

First post under this username because I can no longer remember my password from my old account. Some of you might know me already but anyway, down to business.

I have a photography rig for cars and I am looking for volunteers that might want to meet up and let me get some pictures of their car(s) for practice. I haven't used the rig all that much yet and I really need to figure out its quirks (angles, mounting points, time of day, exposure length, etc).

After, when I post images you can feel free to use the images from my facebook as you like. If you would like to buy posters/prints from me that would be fantastic, but I am completely not expecting you to. The images that I will post will be roughly 1600px wide.

1 or 2 cars maximum at a time would be ideal. Too many cars at once and it begins to get exhausting and when that happens pictures start to loose effort. Also, time becomes a factor.

I feel the ideal time would be golden hour, the hour around sunset/sunrise.

I live in Harrisonburg so I will be around all summer. If you would like to set something up let me know. Here are a couple examples of what I have taken so far. Good in my opinion, put I need more practice.

We can also take other pictures too, but I need to focus on practicing with the rig.

So, any volunteers?

EDIT: Rig mounts with large suction cups, I'll clean the car/suction cup prior to mounting. Rid shots are taken with the car off, we'll just be pushing it, so you won't have to worry about damage to you car/rig at speed. Time to thin the heard, I have 2 competitive cars and right now don't have the time or finances (isn't the curves life throw great sometimes.....) for the feeding and caring of both so I am letting chance decide which direction I am going, both cars are for sale and will continue to race which ever one doesn't sell.

In SSM trim the car has several class wins (including the last outing) and only finished outside of the top 5 twice (6th once and 13th out of a 54 SSM field). Finished 4th in NASA SSM points last year even with running a partial schedule. I have never had a DNF with the car and no major contact. There is a dent in the drivers quarter panel and the LF fender is a little wrinkled. It was like that when i got the car and it wasn't worth fixing in my opinion but I have a replacement fender. Can also be ran in the DSP autocross class

Interesting note. This car is now eligable to race in any Vintage race due to it's win at the VIR Gold Cup races.

This past winter I replaced the 1.6L with a 1.8 from a 2000 Miata with 54k using the Flyin Miata swap kit. At the same time I also deleted the factory ecu and maf and replaced it with the Megasquirt system. It was then taken straight to the dyno in Virginia Beach and tuned. When I bought it I had it repainted and it's been garaged/covered since the day I purchased it (1/05) . For the last several years it has been trailered to events, and it hasn't been driven in the rain unless it started while at an event. Car is set up to run in CSP or SSM. I've been running SSM because it was going to be supercharged by the summer, but I need to thin the fleet before anything else is done. This season the car hasn't finished out of the top 5 in raw time.

Finally, I catch a break. My mom has always looked at my obsession for cars as anything but positive. But out of the blue, she says to me at dinner, "I think a Miata would be cool." UHGGG.... YES! Now that my car will be down at JMU starting in August and Im moving my sisters car down to Florida, theres plenty of room for a Miata in the driveway (lets be real... Im keeping it in the garage).

Ive read more Miata threads on here than I can count on my fingers, so I know you all are a wealth of knowledge. So my questions for all you Miata junkies: When shopping for a Miata, what year(s) should I stay away from? Any common issues should I know about? Yada yada... buyers guide to used Miatas, please?

My mom also mentioned a new (or CPO) Miata but that seems like it defeats the point of it being an affordable second/fun car. Any opinions on this?

I just love the TVR philosophy of making outrageously-styled, bonkers sports cars that rightly focus on being light (although maybe not so great on the handling, reliability, flammability, etc.). Sometimes I think that if TVR's were sold here that A. The company never would've gotten sold to some random Russian guy, and B. I would be driving a used TVR right now. But then I remember that even the issues under warranty on the Panigale irritated me, I probably wouldn't have the patience for a TVR. But still, one can dream!
