1976 BMW 2002 for sale! 141k on chassis, 39k on engine.

Restored in '98:
new engine with weber 36/32 and 4-1 header (common upgrades)
5spd swap (rebuilt 320 transmission and kit by Aardvarc Racing) and clutch
cooling system re-done with upgraded radiator (out of a 320 as well I think)
exterior trim, seals, paint (still in decent shape, see pictures)
frame rails, front floor panels replaced
63A upgraded alternator
seats reupholstered, new carpet
new brake master, calipers rebuilt, wheel cylinders replaced, new rotors and pads
new shocks and struts
Originally had AC, it was removed and some parts rebuilt, but was never re-installed

I'm the second owner since the restoration, purchased March 2011. It has been a daily driver for me (garaged, not driven in snow / salt). In addition to normal maintenance, I have:
switched trans and diff to synthetic oil, engine to semi-synth
removed stock cooling fan, replaced with electric SPAL. New 80deg tstat
installed digital SPA water temp / oil pressure gauge
installed MP3/USB head unit and new rear speakers (front speakers under dash in decent shape)
had both rear wheel bearings replaced, fronts repacked
installed new clutch slave
replaced dead heater core fan with rebuilt unit
removed Pertronix ignition, swapped original points system back in (Pertronix still works fine, could be re-installed)

It is still a great daily driver, and I really enjoy driving it, but I just have too many vehicles right now and need to cut back. I did a compression test 2k miles ago after a valve adjustment, results were good but I didn't write down the #'s, so I might re-do that. The car is relatively free of rust, glass looks great.

It really *needs* nothing, but here's what keeps it from being perfect:
Driver door was creased, folded forward while backing up a year after restoration. D'oh! Door stop broken, door needs replacement to be right.
Paint has a few damaged spots, no bad rust issues, but needs to be addressed. Peeling around lower rockers. Front lip does have rust problems, could be fixed or covered by a front spoiler.
Gauge cluster lights are out, fuel gauge stopped working not long after I purchased.
Seat belt retractors are pretty weak.

So as many of you are aware, there was another deer strike at Hyperfest this year. Scary though that was, it turned out there were other deer strikes this season at a car weekend. Today I found out that one of the bike race groups had 2 strikes in one weekend this year. Thankfully the worst injury was a broken collarbone.

Backstory of the car:
Donnie has been a chumpcar official and driver for years. One of the teams he was on used an ex-SCCA IT car RX7. This car got punted into a wall at VIR, and I guess the owners had no motivation to build another one. Here comes us. We pick the punted car for cheap, and pick up another FC chassis.

In a moment of glorious stupidity, we decide we can build an entire race car in a day and a half. So, Paul and I head down to Donnie's in NC and work on this hunk of junk from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. We get a metric ton of work done in a small period of time. Needless to say it took a couple of days to get all the grime out...

Our first goal was to make Charlotte Motor Speedway for a shake-down of the car on the weekend after hyperfest (June 22nd). The first time we touched the car was June 1st weekend and Donnie and I both had to prep cars for hyperfest, and be gone all weekend for hyperfest June 14-15th weekend. We may not be smart, but we were ambitious. :lol:

Langley Speedway in Hampton,VA is freshly paved this season and has a good amount of racing going on throughout the summer. My friend has built an all motor civic (still trying to get him to post the build, it's insane) and is very competitive in Wacky Wednesday. Wacky Wednesday is a weekly race that people run their daily drivers and costs $15 to enter. You do 2 laps for time attack and then pick a race with someone (outside v inside lane) one lap, you either run heads up or car lengths are given as handicap. They run A and B mains and the winners take home some cash monies. I decided to take the bimmer out last Wednesday and did it just for the hell of it. It was a blast but I was really conservative driving since the track is extremely unforgiving haha. It's kind of a tease being out there for two laps, feeling it out, and realizing that slow entry fast exit doesn't apply. I might get out there and try it out again sometime but I'll definitely be around to help my friend with his civic. If anyone's in the area you should check it out. $5 to watch and it's BYOB or buy at the track.They go full redneck and do burnout contests too. Decided to rummage through the garage and look for some stuff to offload. I was planning on moving the subwoofer over to the GTI when I bought it, but the factory system has decent enough bass and I'm not 18 anymore, so I never got around to it.

What we have here is a Kenwood Excelon KFC-XW1000F 10" subwoofer in a Sound Ordinance sealed truck-style enclosure (takes up way less space than a regular box) with a Sound Ordinance M-1350 350W RMS amp. Total retail price is $357. All you need to install is an RCA cable and a remote wire.

Everything is in perfect condition. MM price is $200 EDIT: FINE!!! $125 Firm, I'm sick of looking at them in the basement, picked up in Fairfax, VA.

Simpson K10 SA2010 Helmet - XL Size

I love this helmet - it fits my head absolutely perfectly. I had access to a few dozen helmets at OG when I was ready to buy and this was more comfortable for me than any Arai, etc. I measure 23.5" just above the eyebrows, and have an oval-shaped head - Simpsons are known for making more ovoid as opposed to round helmets. It is a bit unique in that the cheekpads are fairly substantial, meaning that more of the pressure feels like it is on the lower half of your head rather than around your cranium though it is a nice, snug helmet; I love the fit and it never gave me any headaches unlike helmets that squeeze your forehead, etc. If you have a thinner frontal profile/longer side profile type of head like me around my size, this is the helmet you're looking for.

No marks/scratches, never dropped, like new appearance, no smells - I had access to a Shock Doctor equipment drier that I regularly used after wearing. SA2010 means this helmet will be good through 2020 with most governing bodies.

GoPro helmet base installed on the side, HANS Pro-series anchors installed but never used ($50), I will also include a spare dark smoke shield (never opened, $40) and an OG helmet bag ($20)

Alpinestars Tech-1 Race Gloves - SFI 3.3/5 + FIA 8856-2000 Rated - Small Size

I measure 7 1/4" around the knuckles on a glove sizing chart, and these fit perfectly. Neither gets tight anywhere while driving, minimal bunching in the palm when gripping the wheel, etc. - all in all a great glove for smaller hands (not a lot of options out there, I tried them all like the helmet).

Also like the helmet, these were dried/treated with the Shock Doctor equipment drier regularly. Almost new in appearance, no tears/holes, tons of life left in the grip material, etc.

truck is an 1988 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 with a 350, automatic, 212000 on the clock, and would make any grandpa feel right at home. After an uneventful test drive and subsequent purchase, I'm starting to notice some oddities with the truck.
First off, anyone know of a decent diy forum(s) to get into? Not sure if i'll find the same level of documentation as the newer car world has, but maybe someone has come across something good?

have to check into a rough idle/stall out when at low speeds/stopping.It's happened 3-4 times in the last few days. Also when giving light throttle it sputters and acts like it wants to stall out, but does ok at a fuller throttle.

going to start with checking the plugs, although they were done about 6 months ago, maybe a fuel filter or pump?
i have no idea about the carb, those things are like black magic to me right now

Hey guys I'm Marshall, I'm an up coming freshmen majoring in Business Management. I drive a 1983 Pontiac Firebird, it has a 2.8L V6 which hopefully with some extra money this summer I can afford to swap in a 305 or 350. I currently in Tidewater Trans Am Club so I was just looking for some new people that love cars and can go on cruises or race since I'll be moving out of the tidewater area.
