SVBA Rockingham Fairgrounds Cruise-in this Saturday
Posted by: Nate the Great - 04-08-2014, 09:02 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (2)

Hey everyone! This coming Saturday (April 12) there is another car show in town the SVBA's Home and Garden Show Cruise-in at the Rockingham County Fairgrounds on South 11 from 10-2. There will be tons of classic cars there. I think I counted at least 40 or so at the show last year. :-D Pretty sure some of the local people who were at our car show will be there. I will be in my booth at the garden show inside the exhibition hall promoting my landscape business if anyone wants to stop by and say hi. There will be food and music as well. Here is the link to the cruise-in - https://www.facebook.com/events/271831729608702/

 2002 Trans Am WS6 SOM 6-speed
Posted by: RawrImAMonster - 04-08-2014, 03:43 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (7)

My firebird is up for sale. If an MM'er is interested in it, PM me and I will give you a better price than what is listed in my for sale ad below. It really is a clean car other than the paint issues I mentioned and they wouldn't cost much to have fixed. I was going to do it, but the people I usually use to paint have had to reschedule a few times now and I just don't feel like messing with it anymore.

Unofficially, my M3 is for sale too. I'd much prefer to sell the firebird first, but since I have a car I'd like to buy soon I would sell this now if the opportunity arose. Again, PM me if you or someone you know is interested.

WTB & FS: BMW Steering Wheel
Posted by: davej - 04-07-2014, 03:22 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (4)

I picked up an M Tech 1 steering wheel a while back that I wanted to us on the '02, but got a lesson in coarse vs fine splines only after it wouldn't fit. I like the way it'd look in the car, so if you guys can keep an eye open for me in your forums/part bins, I'm looking for a coarse spline wheel, which should be from anything with a build date prior to 9/85.

and if anyone might want to buy this one, let me know. (but holding out hope someone will trade me for a coarse)

the backs are different, fine spline on left, coarse on right (although not an m tech)

Prestige package (every option minus S-Line, which is sporty looking bits)
53k miles at purchase with CPO remaining for 16 months and many miles.

Who wants a few extra bucks?

Any students looking to make a few extra bucks? Have some yard work I've procrastinated long enough on, bagging leaves, planting a few things, prepping for mulch, etc

Guessing 4-6 hrs of work maybe? could pretty much take place on your schedule.

Had a chance to visit a classic car museum in the middle of nowhere, NY over Christmas and just came across some of the pics. There was probably close to 200 vehicles on display, I took a few photos, but Landon was manning the camera most of the time so there's a lot of front bumper shots that i won't bore you with.

You start out with turn of the century through WWII, which represented the biggest section of cars there.

I was absolutely enamored with this 1930 Henderson bike, maybe because it reminded me of the BatBike from the 90's Batman cartoon, or maybe because it was just pure sex on two wheels...

 Private Exotics Collection

So it never occurred to me to share my photos from one of the best automotive experiences of my life, I was invited to see a private collection with my local cars and coffee, the collector prefers to not be named but here are the pictures, it was a few years ago so don't judge my picture taking skills. Here's a few to look at but the link to my photo bucket is there too

 Glazed Clutch??
Posted by: Ken - 04-03-2014, 03:36 PM - Forum: Technical Discussion - Replies (16)

Looking for a bit of help on this one:

So I noticed the other day, since I really don't drive all that hard (honestly), that when I go WOT at about 3-4K the revs fly up for about half a second, fall back down and then car begins to accelerate in a completely normal matter.

My thought was that if it was a slipping clutch, I'd see other symptoms. So far that's all I notice, it takes off fine, shifts normally and the revs are normal even while accelerating after the initial jump.

From what I have read it could just be a "glazed clutch". Is this an actual thing? Sorry, completely in the dark on this. If so, am I still screwed or is this something that can normalize itself after a bit? trying to unload this car soon so I really don't want to have to drop the 2K to get a new clutch. Really annoyed, I honestly never launch and I take all precautions not to milk the clutch. I have a feeling the previous owner (who had it up to about 10K, she's at 37 now) may have been a little harder on it than I.

Thanks in advance!

 Possible Spring Kline's meet?
Posted by: rherold9 - 04-02-2014, 06:03 PM - Forum: Campus Events - Replies (36)

Hey all,

Just want to get a feeler on the idea of a spring Kline's meet just like in the fall. I think it would be a great to show the Freshman that there is a car club here. The fact that they will be able to bring their cars up here next year I think makes a good idea to have it in the spring along with the fall. I have brought the idea up a few times to Sam but I just wanted to get a feeler on current students and see what they think. Alumni feel free to chip in as well.

It is always fun to piss everyone off in Showker deck too = more attention

What does everyone think about sometime during the week of the 14th-18th of April? Monday/Wednesday/Friday are usually best for most people?
