MSW 14X6 Aftermarket wheels for V-Dubs (and others)
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 06-20-2004, 04:59 PM - Forum: For Sale/Trade, WTB - Replies (31)

So my dad got these wheels. Gonna give the MM guys first shot. They're a black "meshie" wheel, with a (what I think used to be) polished lip. 4X?100?mm

MSW 1930-A is what's written on them. They're 6 inches wide, 14 inches in diameter. 3 of them are wrapped in Craptastic Ass-Bald victoracers.

Pictures forthcoming.

Price: $ Make me an offer. Ask any questions. I'll give y'all two weeks before I ebay 'em.

  Picked up my turbo today...
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 06-20-2004, 04:46 PM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (10)

So I bought myself a turbocharger for me birthday. Came off an '87 LeBaron.

Water Cooled Garrett T3.
.48 A/R (exhaust)
40mm inducer
60mm exducer

I had to pull it off the engine, and lemme tell ya, what a pain in the ass. The 2.2 Chrysler engine wasn't cross flow, which means there was absolutely NO ROOM to work. The engine was out of the car, but it was still a HUGE pain in the ass, as the engine side water and oil lines were rounded off, and Chrysler saw fit to just sort of cram everything in there as tight as it could.

I didn't know the turbo was watercooled until I got there. Alot of people look down on water-cooled junkyard turbos, cuz it's such a pain in the ass to hook everything up.

Still, this is probably the best Junkyard turbo I can find. Saab, Volvo, and Z31 turbochargers all go for way too much money. And since this turbo was the only chrysler one with a blow-off valve (!!!) AND it's water cooled, AND it seems to be a decent size for my engine (maybe a tad on the small side) AND it was 50 bucks, I think I got a pretty damn good deal.

Problems: The exhaust housing has a wonky bolt pattern, so I'll have to get a custom flange for my downpipe. No fears, JGS Tools just happens to sell those. It also has the intake pipe for the turbo sticking straight up. I don't know yet if I can rotate it. If I can, it's not a big deal. If I can't, guess what JGS Tools sells. It's also going to probably need a rebuild. So I guess I get to learn what rebuilding a turbo is like. YIPPIE!

I also got the stock manifold with it. Maybe I can 'blast it, and sell it on Ebay for 15 bucks or whatever.

So, yeah. Hooray!

  Happy Birthday to Rex...
Posted by: CaptainHenreh - 06-17-2004, 10:00 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (9)

So today's my birthday. 21. I can legally purchase alcohol.

My mom got me some shorts and some spandex-y underwear. (I really like them, but they're super expensive. My dad got me an Auto-Darkening welding helmet, which if anyone is curious, is the coolest thing ever.

I got myself a Nismo hat and a T3 turbocharger. Haven't picked either one of them up yet.

Anyway, happy birthday to me. Off to the liquor store!

  MM Chili Cookoff!
Posted by: Evan - 06-17-2004, 12:53 AM - Forum: Events - Replies (36)

I have been playing around with the idea of having an MM Chili Cookoff this summer at my house.
I make a damn good bowl of chili, and I know Kaan makes some good stuff too, and I bet some of you other guys are pretty good cooks so bring it on.
Plenty of entertainment - we have a pool, pool table, darts, and most importantly, RJs mom is right down the road.

The Date is up in the air, July is pretty packed with track events (and vacations im sure) so sometime in august would be best. how is the last weekend in august for everybody?
