No mine doesn't...I have Google calendar and outlook calendar synced together. I had an issue with the outlook calendar but I think it was an issue on my company's end...I just deleted the account and then set it up again and it was fine.

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. i was reading into rooting the transformer last night, it seems really complicated...but that's because I know shit about hacking / programming. Is it really worth all of the hassle? I read some of the claimed benefits but I can't really find any clear reasons why I should void the warranty on this thing.

i didn't get any benefit from jailbreaking any apple device. too much hassle for too little reward. you're always stuck on old releases, stuff doesn't work, and the warranty thing...

That's kind of what I was thinking. I mean it would be nice to be able to uninstall some of the bloatware, but I don't really care about overclocking the ECU, etc.

Turns out that going to Application Settings and wiping the data in Google Calendar fixed my crashing problem. It's actually the first time I've been able to use the Calendar since I had my Galaxy Tab.
Also, if you guys haven't tried it already, download Zinio. It's a e-magazine subscription app, and it comes free with an issue from 17 different mags. I'm thinking I might buy a subscription or two with it.
Next thing I wanna do is try to use that MyNet app to remote into my Macbook.

Anyone have success with unread count on the home screen without using the widget that actually shows email? The native Gmail app doesn't do it and the native "ASUS Email" app does, but it doesn't support Gmail labels inside the app. There's a $1 app that supposedly does it but 1) I'm cheap and 2) I refuse to pay for that functionality on principle.
We should prolly create our own thread...

The hard drive developed an intermittent clicking a few weeks ago so my wife called support. They told her to ship it back and they'd look at it. Of course it wasn't clicking for the few days prior to shipping it back, so I expected them to say there was nothing wrong with it. We heard back from Gateway and they replaced the hard drive, wifi card and updated the BIOS free of charge. The turnaround time from when they received to when it showed back up (scheduled) was 8 calendar days. Color me impressed.
Update:
Ever since they sent it back, the computer won't wake up from Sleep or Hibernate. They had me do a factory restore on it and that did not fix the problem. I suspect this is related to them updating the BIOS during the last service. We have to send it back AGAIN and wanted us to pay for shipping. I bitched and they gave is a FedEx account number to use. At this point, I'm 50/50 on the whole experience. It's a cool little machine, but there are obviously some fairly questionable things to consider.
Update:
Came back exactly the way it left us. Called India and got escalated to Tier 2 support in the US. Explained the problem, was put on hold and when the guy came back told me they have heard of a few fixes on microsoft.com and if that didnt work, I could always set it to never sleep or hibernate. I laughed at him and told him it was not my problem. I asked for a replacement and was told there was no policy to allow for that - repair only. He said I could send it back again and he would make sure a "Level 2 Tech" would look into it. I told him this was the last step before credit card dispute. He didnt seem to care.
Never had to go through this with a Dell.

At least Dell didnt sent a creepy tech to your house 3 times and the service rep on the phone ignoring everything I (and the creepy tech) had to say, still not fixing the busted video card so you spend the money to fix it and get it over with rather than dealing with warranty.
Then again, I bought another Dell. Review to follow when I get it...

Gateway with W7.
It was a great computer, before they went and fucked the whole thing up.

I would never touch a gateway, for the hardware and especially the crappy support.

Got it back today and everything appears to be working as expected. They said it was the wireless card, which they replaced on the initial service for the hard drive. This has been a 2 month process since the initial problem.
The irony of the whole thing is I bought it for her as a "birthday present" mid-February. Her birthday is this Saturday.

Ok, I need to start looking at a new netbook/laptop again. I used to have a Dell 700m and it was great. Sold it and bought a 12" Dell Mini, and I'm ready to smash it. I've hated it since day 1, when I had to chase a UPS truck around Falls Church to get it before I got on a plane to Europe. Anyways. I like the size/battery life/form factor of the Dell. The problem is the slow Atom processor and minimal RAM - I think its 1gb - and I cant upgrade them. I hate it. Its slow. I'm going to run it over with my truck as soon as I find a new one, and then light it on fire. And then run it over again.
What I want - 12" screen. No optical drive. 5+ hour battery life. Doesnt suck. $500 or less. Brand unimportant... I'd buy another dell (I did buy a Zino media PC thats pretty good) but they seemed to have given up on laptops in that size.

We are happy with out HP/Compaq, netbook, no issues at all, aside from what you mentioned about your Dell, with the slow processor, shitty ram, and crappy HD video playback (youtube). But it serves its purpose as a netbook.
The HP listed below is simply the upgraded version, not the bare minimal version we got when we ordered FIOS, dual core, between 2-4GB of Ram, 250-750GB HD, 6 cell batt, 11.6in screen, starting at $399, but thats direct through HP.

You aren't going to find much that doesn't have a somewhat crappy processor at that price. Whatever you do, stay away from the Atom.

or he could just buy a tablet/ipad
Both of those would be a huge upgrade from what I'm dealing with now. Chris, remind me to make you use it for 20 minutes next time I see you. You dont get to smash it though.
