Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2

Anyone have plans for Friday night at this point? I should be leaving by 1 pm and arrive around 6 or 7pm. Tavern? Grilling out?

My buddy and I will be getting there around 8 or 9 maybe. I'm not sure if we're staying at vir or in Danville yet though. Probably down to have a least a couple beers though either way.

I vote someone's trailer just because my cooler is cheaper than the tavern and it'll have what I drink.

Any workers have some floor space available? I booked a room at the Best Western because I wasn't sure if the family was coming down. But its looking more and more like I'll be rolling solo and I'd like to spend the money on buying us all beers instead of a hotel room by myself.

We can drink at my trailer, the fridge is mostly stocked, but always needs refilling halfway through the weekend.

FYI - DJ and I will try to paddock where we usually do, up near the front of grid next to Jeff Curtis.

I'll be heading down tomorrow (Thursday) around 1 PM and will try to grab some Caution tape to rope off space for MM And Friends. Apparently VIR has painted lines in the paddock spaces to help everyone "conserve space" or whatnot.

If anyone from the NoVa area wants to save some gas $$ and hitch a ride I'm leaving Friday AM... Only cost that might occur is that you might have to drive the 4runner and trailer home on Sunday :x

Matt we will have a grill so if you're bringing food you've got a place to cook. Did a quick run through of everything today. Hitting the road by 1pm tomorrow and should be there around 6. Look forward to seeing everyone!

Thanks Jon. I'm not sure what's going on yet. If I ride down solo, I'd be there in time for chillage and drinking and cooking. If im riding down with my buddy and waiting for him to get off work, I'll be down in time for drinking only probably. He won't give me an answer if he's staying through Sunday so I may say fugit and leave whenever I want but idk if I'll feel like waiting and getting something to grill last minute. May stop at sheetz or Popeyes on the way down. (Can't remember if richmond to Danville passes the sheetz or if it's Popeyes or one of the other chicken places but you get the idea)

It was a blast. Had such a good time. Glad I didn't work Sunday. Got to just mill around and be lazy til my exhaustion wore off. Even kinda tired today still. I really liked VIR as the location, much better than summit. Plenty of room for hyperfest to grow into and even when it gets bigger i feel like the layout just allows for the crowd to spread out nicer so it feels like you can breathe. Whereas summit just kinda crams everyone into this small space. When is round 2?

BIG EDIT: also also also, burnout competition was by far the highlight of hyperfest for me lol. The drunk redneck commentator to my left was fucking hilarious. The cars made so much smoke it cut years off my life. Here is Forsberg who definitely had the best burnout of everyone.

And i'm kind of surprised i just found this one lol. The guy you hear laughing and saying "you not supposed to do that" is the drunk fellow i mentioned. I was watching right from where this vid was shot. Driver got bitched out afterwards. They weren't supposed to do anything outside of the square.

The drifting over on patriot course was pretty good as well. The-not-pro-drifters couldn't figure out main course so that was painful to watch, however, Forsberg, Gittin and Tuerck were on point. I have my own videos but youtube is being dumb right now so this is the best one i could grab off the interwebs, i'll post mine later.

Rally rides were alright. I was kind of underwhelmed when i got out the car tbh but it was still definitely worth it for $15.



I've been reading comments on instagram and people seemed to really have enjoyed it. Nothing negative being said. Next year should be even better!
