Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - JPolen01 - 01-15-2015 I figured I would get this started because 1) I'm bored at work 2) It's at VIR (instead of Summit Point) and 3) It's a different weekend. This year it will be May 2nd at VIR http://hyper-fest.com/ I have heard (through FB) that NASA has booked all of the lodge/villa/garage rooms already. I reserved a camping spot for me and a few buddies today. We got a spot in the North Paddock w/ water/electricity as we are bringing a tow behind camper this year to stay Friday and Saturday night. Who is going? Should be a much different crowd down at VIR (I'm hoping). Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - Jake - 01-15-2015 I'll be working the event in some capacity, and ideally TTing the M3 as well. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - SlimKlim - 01-15-2015 JPolen01 Wrote:Should be a much different crowd down at VIR (I'm hoping). Drunk rednecks from Danville and NC instead of WV? Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - SlimKlim - 01-15-2015 Considering Danville unemployment is like 9% and Martinsville is over 11% I don't think anyone in the area can afford blow. People are most likely gonna be partying it up with shake & bake and 'shine made in an old radiator out of fermented apple peels. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - BLINGMW - 01-15-2015 sweet I didn't know about the venue change, I'll have to check it out Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - JPolen01 - 01-15-2015 Jake Wrote:Maybe less teen parents? I guess it is wishful thinking on my part!SlimKlim Wrote:JPolen01 Wrote:Should be a much different crowd down at VIR (I'm hoping). Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - SlimKlim - 01-15-2015 Y'all are seriously overestimating what Southwestern VA has to offer. Cocaine? Contraception? That's some city slicker shit. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - ScottyB - 01-15-2015 so, the last few times i went to VIR i found a pretty kickass old school BBQ place about 20 mins away in NC....Briggs Bar-B-Que i found much of the food outside the track pretty lacking but this place is freaking delicious and pretty cheap. take rt. 62S from VIR and its at the end of the road where it tees off onto rt. 86, just a little brick building opposite the Citgo Gas Station usually with a bunch of pickups parked outside  (the trademark of all quality bbq joints) the nice thing about 62 is that the speed limit is mostly 55mph once you get out of Milton right there outside the track, but there's almost nothing out there once you go further, so i usually just cruise at 65-70 and the drive goes by nice and quick. its also the road where i hit my first and only turkey. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - Evan - 01-16-2015 man you guys must have never stayed in town. back before they built hotels closer to the track and everybody had to stay in town the 'local' scene was BAD on friday and saturday nights. kaan matt and rj remember, pretty funny actually. I wouldnt expect much of a different crowd from summit. ScottyB Wrote:so, the last few times i went to VIR i found a pretty kickass old school BBQ place about 20 mins away in NC....Briggs Bar-B-Queoh wow, I used to stay over there all the time, wish I had known about it then. it was actually a shorter drive to the track than from the hotels in downtown danville Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - G.Irish - 01-16-2015 Ahhh, those nights at the Innkeeper... Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - Senor_Taylor - 01-16-2015 I was disappointed to see they changed the weekend. A few COB classes have a final that day... Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - rherold9 - 01-16-2015 Well that weekend is the start of finals. That sucks. Probably won't be going.. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - nismosam - 01-19-2015 +1 with the other students that can't go now, which is really a shame because they are bringing back the amature drifting for hyperfest and it's only $180 (which would be exciting if I could go, because 1. drifting at summit hyperfest before it wen't comp only was $250 IIRC, and 2. because there's never non-comp drift events at VIR anymore) Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - Jake - 01-20-2015 If you studied for finals before the Saturday morning of finals week, you could go. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - Kaan - 01-20-2015 Danville proper... those nights were "interesting." at least we knew we could never get in trouble because there was something going on WAY worse then headgaskets in a parking lot. or beer drinking in the parking lot... or scaring the McDs girls working late. be glad you aren't in town any more. its much safer. Re: Hyperfest 2015 @ VIR May 2 - Jewels - 01-20-2015 So come after your finals.... I'm missing the problem here. Ya'll study for exams waaaayyy more than I ever did. If you don't know the material by then, well you are probably fucked anyway. |
