Why would you spend a bunch of money on a custom turbo setup and not tune it right away? Seems like a recipe for a busted ass engine. Not to mention the corded tires Wink

Lack of money, lack of time, and tried to tune, couldnt do it. Its running rich, i only need a tune at boost above 3k RPMs.

Put it on a loading dyno and see for sure - dont guess, you might just send a rod into another zip code.

Tuning is so critical to a heavily modified car. I was terrified right after the stage 4 install on my WRX, so much so that I loaded an off-the-shelf map and drove it up to MD off boost until it could get properly tuned. Even the new STI surprisingly had a really good tune on it, but a few blinking CELs made me want to take it right up to TurboXS and have them work their magic on another one of my cars.

I know its running rich because my Wideband says Rich, at no point does my a/f go above 14.2 and thats at idle as far as off the shelf maps go there are very few available since Megasquirt isnt as widespread as Utec, and since many people dont have a 420A eclipse running turbo and MS.

I lucked out at the time, because I was running a Cobb Tuning Accessport. Their off the shelf maps are really limited, but their stage 2.5 map involved the turbo and injectors I was using. I drove it on that (with an intercooler and short ram intake) up to MD, then had them install a UTEC there and tune it with the UTEC. So yeah, I just got lucky basically. Rich is better than lean to an extent anyway!

You should be very pleased at the power you've got left on the table anyway after your tune if you're currently running that rich ^_^

well does anyone have a MBC they are willing on getting rid of for pretty cheap, cause i need one???

MBC = boost creep....

Does Ultimate have a loading dyno? Interia dynos arent very good at tuning low rpm/high load situations, where EGT's spike and detonation is most likely to happen.

MBC = More Boost. Only other way to regulate it is the WG spring, id prefer to have control over my boost so that i can change it whenever i please. Also car wont be back by sunday, gotta replace the inner tie rod ends, had play thus equaling the armageddon like shake i was encountering at 75+.

Damn i got both inner and outer for less than that. They may have given you the wrong thing. Did you check in the catologue or did you just let them check.

I was trying to get something for my engine and I remember they kept putting in gs, and I was like NOOO gsx. And they are like, oh their all the same engines. I am like omg you are idiots.

That is a sad thing. I remember getting plugs for the DSM, and almost getting into a fistfight with the 'tard behind the counter because he wanted to sell me champions for my "Mopar" motor. I'm like "Goddamnit, Mitsubishi made the motor and I want NGK's!" and he was like "You should use OEM...Champion."

The really sad thing is that the knowledgable people leave becauise it doesn't pay enough.
