A New Motorsports Movie...

Now you are the one playing stupid semantics games. You made some irrelevant qualification about the grade of the trail and I ignored it, because it makes absolutely no difference to the point.
Your point was that you couldnt go fast enough to be "uncomfortable" on a mt. bike, and Im saying it is quite easy. The grade of the trail doesnt make one bit of difference when comparing the activities.

Quote:No, but it is an excellent illustration of power delivery, and the speed with which power can be applied with a dirt bike vs. a mountain bike.

Well, I cant do a burnout in my miata, so that must mean that I know absolutely nothing about driving a higher powered car, because the power deliver is so different, so the skills dont translate at all. You are right, I missed that point, because its retarded.

Sure, it feels different. So do Fwd and rwd cars, 100hp and 300hp cars, so do different types of tires and suspension, but you sure as shit arent starting over from scratch when you move from one to the other.
Quote:I agree.

Then if its so obvious, and you agree, why did you list it as a major difference? Why do you disagree that the same skills used in Mt. Biking is applicable to riding a dirtbike? Double talk, son. Make up your mind.

Quote:Thats a lot of gears. Dirt bike riding also involves thinking. Sometimes.
Im sure it does, I wouldnt doubt that and I didnt say that it doesnt require thinking. You are the one claiming that riding dirt bikes requires some higher degree of mental ability, which is flat out wrong.

Quote:Most definitely.
So you agree that the skills translate....but just a few posts ago you disagreed with mike....... which is it?

Quote:If so, what was your experience coming from mountain biking? (rather than just a tirade about how wicked awesome mountain biking is)
Now you are the one missing the point. I give not one shit about convincing anyone mountain biking is "wickedly awesome", and somehow you have interpreted my counter-points to your explanation of how skills do not translate in any form, to be some exclamation of the superiority of mt. biking. So maybe you should re-read what someone else writes before you try to tell them about reading comprehension.

-who is amazed by people who cannot see the similarities between a bike with a motor, and a bike without.
