A New Motorsports Movie... - G.Irish - 04-06-2005

Dust to Glory. Its a movie about the Baja 1000. Check out the trailer its pretty badass. Gave me the most chills this side of Episode III. This could probably be on the same level as Faster from the looks of it.

Download the trailer here: http://www2.fanscape.com/d2g/media/dtg_trailer_700k.wmv

It is opening this Friday in DC. I won't be back till Saturday but I'd DEFINITELY want to have an outing and go see it that night. I believe its showing at the Georgetown Cinemas. Who's in?

- lillitnn92 - 04-06-2005

nice. anything independent film channel is involved with is usually good.

- G.Irish - 04-06-2005

Sweet!!! Its showing at the Loew's Shirlington and Loew's Georgetown on Saturday

11:20 | 1:30 | 4:00 | 6:20 | 8:40 | 11:10

Someone on the Speed Channel forum has seen it and said it is better than Faster Confusedhock:. But not as good as On Any Sunday (I ordered that and it should be in by the time I get home...).

My flight arrives at Dulles at 5:30 so maybe we could watch the 8:40 showing then go partay.

rock on, i love Baja and Trophy Truck racing. so much action!

700 horsepower, 20 inches of suspension travel, and 140+ top speeds get my attention right quick.

- Mike - 04-06-2005

out of town this weekend Sad i'd love to see it, i love me some offroading.

- ScottyB - 04-06-2005

just watched the trailer....i really like the storyline and the quality of the filming. i really really want to see this in theatres if i can! even though i was hoping they'd follow a truck or buggy driver, i like bikes alot too so i'm still enamored by this movie.

Me, Evan, Leech, RJ, and a few others saw Dust 2 Glory on Tuesday. In one word, EXCELLENT! They did a fantastic job of capturing the fervor and insanity of the Baja 1000 with very good camera work on the scenery and the action. They spreaded the coverage around pretty well too so it wasn't all about the dirt bike guys or all about the trophy trucks.

I liked it so much, I might even go see it again :thumb up: x 2 If you have the opportunity to go see it, DEFINITELY go see it. Make the 2 hour drive if you have to.

- Mike - 04-14-2005

evan was not there, i was... :middlefinger:

Got mixed up with last night

Soooo....when are we gonna get a Beetle??? Big Grin

- Mike - 04-14-2005

A beetle? We're building a buggie.

- Mike - 04-14-2005

How about building a hatch with VTEC first?

- G.Irish - 04-15-2005

Actually I think there was a buggy with Honda power that they used in the Race of Champions this year. Motorcycle powered I believe.

- Mike - 04-15-2005

i really think a dirt bike is the way to go for the baja. best bang for your back. hell, we'll even give it vtec.

Well if we're gonna do that, we've gotta do this first...American Super Camp

Although the chances of getting broken bones are much greater with a bike, at least it won't take us 32 hours like it will with the beetle. But again, I'd rather get runover by a trophy truck in a Beetle than a dirtbike....

- Mike - 04-15-2005

we don't have to do squat first... we need to get some dirt bikes and get practicing. a decent dirtbike won't run you much more than $1k used... you've got the truck, so you get to haul us all out to the woods.

All those that know how to ride a dirtbike properly and with speed raise their hand...*crickets chirping*

Yeah of course we have to get dirtbikes and practice but we need to get professional instruction somewhere down the line if we want to be good. Soooo...get on Ebay!!! I think a CRF250 will do the trick Smile.

- Mike - 04-15-2005

it can't be a world apart from riding a mountain bike, which most of us can do Tongue
