In terms of manufacturing, America is one of the best. The reason why shit breaks here isn't because of bad manufacturing typically, but pisspoor designs. If indeed you do drive the AR that Feersty provided pictures of, then I pity you. The best looking part of your car is the headlamps, which sucks since they only cover about 2% of what is available to look at on the car. As to what our club is, it consists of members from all parts of JMU, who are all interested in the various aspects of vehicles and what they can do. To put it bluntly for you, if it rolls on 2 or 4 wheels, somebody here is interested in pushing that vehicle's limits. That includes drag, autoX, road course, showcar, karting, bike racing, riding bikes, building motors, designing suspensions, wrenching with friends, discussing the fine points that make cars superior or more fun, or just helping a person enjoy thier own driving experience. Hopefully you can find one of these categories to provide some valuable input (not bullshit comments) and learn to tolerate (and possibly someday enjoy) the vast array of ways to enjoy your vehicle that we provide. As to whether we are a group of people who sit around and watch The Gay and the Curious and then dream about racing; if that is what you want to hang out with, then you have come to the wrong forum. I can think of very few people in our club who do not actively participate in some form of automotive competition; virtually all of us have the desire to do so and are making steps toward making that possible. If you think that you can be a respectable, resourceful, and positive addition to our club, then hop into our figurative passenger seat and enjoy the ride. Otherwise, take the bus. - Dave - 06-25-2004 theguywiththeSi Wrote:ISAT also, E+M and IKM, possibly some GIS I guess if all of us are going to start bragging about our majors, I should spit out my oddball just to prove you don't have to live in the ISAT building to be a member of our club: Biology major, Finance major, Pre-Dentistry, and will probably have my Real Estate license by the end of this summer if I get off my ass and take the test. - Mike - 06-25-2004 Pffft, bragging about majors... Get a job and then we'll care
- Dave - 06-25-2004 MichaelJComputer Wrote:Pffft, bragging about majors... Get a job and then we'll caremy thoughts too, but it appeared we all were bout to start spouting off majors so I went ahead. - Evan - 06-25-2004 Dave dont forget your PhD in b00st. you are one motivated motherf-er! - JessicaRabbit79 - 06-27-2004 And then there are those who married into the madness. And where did this degree in music education from our dear alma mater get me?? Never wanting to teach again after my first year of hell... but I digress.John adds that his CS degree has turned out to be "fairly worthless." - G.Irish - 06-27-2004 College is just a starting point, its up to you to drive to where you want to go and be what you want to be. Without college its like taking your trip with a bike instead of a car. You can get where you want to go but it takes a lot more effort. Some people might find a way to cut through the wilderness to get to different places but that's the exception not the rule. |
