Re: Project Shaguar XFR - Jeff - 06-23-2015 All my old Mopar's (80's FWD) had MAP sensors. This Crossfire (my new POS) has a MAF right in the elbow before the TB. It has not one but two different screens before it. Many people list in their mods on the forum that they "de-screen their MAF." That sounds like a really bad idea to me! Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 07-15-2015 Yearly service completed today @ 24,882 miles. The big cat is in impeccable health, jag tech told me that I keep the car in great shape. Which I should considering I have only put 5,000 miles on it in the last year! Nothing crazy to report other than for getting my oil changed with OE oil (Castrol Edge Professional 5w20) I got a mail in coupon for a free 3 piece Jaguar branded Weber grill tool set   I would have rather had a t-shirt or something but I'll take it! Might have sold an old guy who brought his older (4.2L i think) XK in for service on a newer model. The service writer fired it up to check the odometer and he was like "dang, you got some exhaust work done? How much to make mine sound like that?". Talked to him for a little while and he said his car lacked power compared to his buddy's newer XKR...I told him there was an easy way to fix that....upgrade  Re: Project Shaguar XFR - Jake - 07-15-2015 Only 5k in the last year? I thought you drove all over creation for your job... Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 07-15-2015 I used to but I work from home now so my commute is 0. 99% of my trips where I am not flying our policy is to rent a car to get there. Very conducive to keeping miles off! Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 08-20-2015 The grill tool set arrived! haha ballin: ![]()
Re: Project Shaguar XFR - *insertusernamehere* - 08-20-2015 When are they going to send you a GoPro so we can see this thing being whipper proper?  Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 08-20-2015 *insertusernamehere* Wrote:When are they going to send you a GoPro so we can see this thing being whipper proper?  In full 1080p glory 8) Re: Project Shaguar XFR - *insertusernamehere* - 08-20-2015
Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 08-20-2015 The car is making noticeably more (aka butt dyno) torque in the low and mid range than it used to. In the first video you can actually see the car bog for a second on the kick-down as the TC stepped in. I haven't had the balls to disable TC completely but I am assuming it would spin tires in gears 1 and 2 Re: Project Shaguar XFR - Beej - 08-20-2015 Whoa whoa whoa. This thread started in Oct. 2013. Two years and you haven't disabled traction control? Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 08-20-2015 Beej Wrote:Whoa whoa whoa. This thread started in Oct. 2013.   Yeah I got the car completely sideways one time in DSC TRAC and decided at that point that I didn't need to take it a step further  Re: Project Shaguar XFR - *insertusernamehere* - 08-21-2015 Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2015 Not a ton to report here, I stretched its legs yesterday to get the annual inspection so I can get shredded by the county and state for property taxes (ironically, the state values this thing within $3000 of our RDX, which is crazy). The inspector was like "wow, you don't drive this much do you? You brought it in last year with 25,000 miles and you haven't even broken 26,000". I knew not commuting has kept the beast in the garage but we have also been taking the RDX more places out of convenience. I guess that will be good when it comes time to sell it. I take back what I said about slightly more than desired body roll; I took the same onramp that the M6 challenged me on a while back but this time in Sport mode. The suspension characteristics are dramatically different, even from Dynamic mode. The car is basically flat through any turn...the tires would be the limiting factor at this point. I still really love the car, it gives me "that feeling" every time I get in it which hasn't ever happened with a car for me. I would be lying if I didn't say that it's getting tougher for me to justify the overall cost of ownership based on how much I drive it though. Frankly at this point with me working at home and Rachael not working, we could probably do with being a one-car family. I didn't think I would ever hear myself say that and I doubt it will happen, but it's been in the back of my mind. Re: Project Shaguar XFR - HAULN-SS - 10-08-2015 That thing's getting old. It also gets terrible gas mileage. I'll trade you a 3 years newer ATS for it. Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2015 HAULN-SS Wrote:That thing's getting old. That size car is just way too small for me (3 series, ATS, etc.). My first experience with Caddy wasn't super smooth either so that soured me a bit. The red interior with red carbon fiber was the hotness though Re: Project Shaguar XFR - Ken - 10-08-2015 I'd be lying if I said that 40% of the reason why I check updates on this thread wasn't to see if you've decided to sell and how much you want for it. Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 10-08-2015 Hahaha nice! When I do sell it, MM members will get the first look at it for sure, and you all know it's been taken better care of than my kid will be whenever we have one. The last time I looked they had actually stabilized in value but who knows what a lowish mile XFR will be worth when I'm ready to switch. The one challenge is the accident history due to the minor rear end collision (that I'm pretty sure I posted up in this thread at some point). Basically just the bumper cover and foam were replaced but because Jaguar the repair bill was high. I'm pretty sure I need to call CARFAX and have them change it from a "major accident" to something else....I have pictures of the damage and the body shop invoice to prove it. Also driving motivation here is that I want to start preparing for a bigger house in a new area in the near future. No Jag will free up some income for that and give me an excuse to get more serious about a truck or another SUV. I know it will make me sick when I hand over the keys but I did the same thing when I sold my old STI to Travis before I bought this house. Just have to remember that they are just things. SO, putting this out softly into the "friends and family" market, may start doing some prep work to put it on the internets market. If anyone is seriously interested in keeping this absolute beast in the MM family, feel free to shoot me a PM and we can talk specifics. Car has around 25,500 miles on it right now and not really going up since it sits in the garage (we're taking it to golf tomorrow 8) ) Re: Project Shaguar XFR - .RJ - 10-30-2015 I'll trade you an A4 for it Re: Project Shaguar XFR - WRXtranceformed - 10-30-2015 .RJ Wrote:I'll trade you an A4 for itOnly if you throw in a handy....And a pickup truck  |
