Just had my XFR delivered and the first thing it gets is a good bath and a quality tint job:
![[Image: attachment.php?attachmentid=58244&dateline=1381610303]](http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=58244&dateline=1381610303)
Also relocated the extra //R badge to the grille from the ACC sensor where the previous owner had it:
Crazy how much of a night and day difference a good tint job will make. The installer was able to cover the third brake light even though it is really tough to reach which I was pretty happy about. I came back to the shop this morning to get my wife's car tinted and they were doing a photo shoot for the revamp of their website. They asked me if they could photograph my car in a lineup of other cars of theirs for the site and I said sure So that is pretty cool!
Detector hardwire is going in next week, mandatory for this car.
I still think black wheels would look so good on the car but I don't want to mess with that right now. I might have posted it in the other thread but there are three carbon fiber bits from Mina Gallery I am considering adding:
CF Apron splitters
Less sold on the CF eyelids, although it would give it a more aggressive look like the 2012+
Also not sure about the CF hood vents:
Here is the whole Mina car (also has the Black Pak grill vs. my chrome)
Mina also makes a hand laid CF rear diffuser like those on the 2012+s...but I think it's a little much. Here is one on a black car with the Mina exhaust:
Curious to hear your MM's thoughts. I really want to keep this car clean and classy but you all know me...I like to add my own touches and help my vehicles stand out even more

Dip all the chrome so its flat black? Then some black wheels? Cf where you see fit but I'm not really a fan of cf for CF's sake. Like putting random cf things all over the car never really did it for me. Definitely no on eyelids. They have never looked good on any car...ever.
Car is sessy though! Good choice in the end.

Yeah I'm with you on CF for CF's sake. I do like the look on a black car though....white, etc. you can't really pull it off unless it's just a front lip. I honestly think I'm going to avoid dipping anything on this car. I did a pretty good job on the CTS but there were areas where the chome peeled off and I had to touch it up, etc. For now anyway I think I am going to leave the chrome as is.

Dude I can't wait either Dan. The interior needs some love and I need your advice on what to use to take care of this leather. I think the tint guy may have put a scratch in the clearcoat on the back driver side door too, think we can get that filled in or make it disappear?

If you rub your nail across the scratch and it doesn't catch(like you don't feel it) it will buff out. Not an exact science but more like a quick check. That's How we did it in the body shop at least. Now of course, you may still be able to buff it out if you feel depending on clear coat thickness and maybe hardness (Dan, feel free to correct me)

Correctomundo Matt- always is a good measure of how deep a scratch may be- most of the time slow polishing speeds with a D/A machine with some patience will build up a safe amount of heat that will gradually "melt" the sides of scratch (the clear coat) inward therefore smoothing out the scratch- think of it as filling in a ravine by pushing some of the soil on the side in...less light refracting off the edges...less visible scratch

awesome car, and yeah the tint helps a lot. not that it had a big open greenhouse to start with, but being black already it just looks more cohesive now.
another vote for no eyelids. i could see the splitter and vents looking pretty sweet though, in fact they look almost OEM to my eye because they're subtle. the diffuser is probably a bit much although i can understand wanting to "balance" out the carbon touches front to back.

I actually like the diffuser. Now that I think about it, I had built one of these in GTAV with the black theme. Flat black paint, limo tints. I did the carbon diffuser and it looked awesome. I went with a gunmetal wheel color though. I really think black wheels with a black car looks meh. It's hard to see the wheel design when they are all black. I like the carbon hood vents and the black grille like Dan said.

Good call on avoiding the plastidip, I think its fine in certain applications but it wouldn't give you a finish worthy of the rest of the car. I used to to re-black the window trim on the E36 and it didn't come out that well. I need to remove it, completely strip and sand it, then try it again.
I do really like that black pak grill with the chrome outer trim though, that '12 I posted in your shopping thread that my buddy was brokering had that grill with the gunmetal wheels and metallic black paint. So sexy.

I'm completely with you on the black pack grill. I like that its an OEM option too. Its a definite possibility!

I'd definitely do it unless the sticker price makes you puke. That plus the CF vents and splitters would be so titties.
You could also remove the exterior window trim and wrap it with some black gloss 3M vinyl. It'll look like it's painted but if you get sick of it or want to go back to stock to sell it, all you have to do is warm it up and peel it off.

Haha love it! If it's good enough for an F40 owner it would be good enough for me. The part itself from Mina Gallery is $310 before shipping which is kind of meh. From the dealer with forum discounts I am seeing it's like $500 which is super meh. I like the vinyl idea too, nothing wrong with a good wrap.
I'm pretty sold on the front splitters no matter what, as soon as things settle down I will probably pull the trigger on those.

You do not...I repeat do not Plastidip ANYTHING on a Jag. I like the black grill. Cf hood vents, meh, they will just blend into the black and no one will notice but you.
I for one prefer the chrome, aside from the grill. It's a Jag, and a luxo sedan at that. Shit needs chrome.
