Kart help?
Posted by: GQROB - 04-29-2005, 10:33 AM - Forum: Lounge - Replies (3)

I am headed to Summit Point Main for my second Enduro Kart Race 7 May. I was wondering if anybody would be bored enough and curious enough to come give me a hand at the track? I need help with minor tasks such a lifting the kart to it's stand, moving support equip(push stick, starter), tracking lap times/spectating and starting the engine. I am not sure how I can reward ya, except to feed ya, but if you are ever interested in getting started in karting helping me would help you to understand what is going on at such an event.
Thanks

Rob

Had a great relaxing birthday today, aside from going into court for a traffic ticket =p

Took off work for most of the day, and most importantly bought myself a birthday present. Not as huge as last year's (the WRX), but it sure as hell requires us to change around the basement a little:

 Room Available for Summer

MM, I'm going to post this, if you or someone you know is looking for a place, hit me up!

One bedroom available in a two bedroom apartment. Very quiet neighborhood, very nice apartment. Private attached bathroom. Cathedral ceiling in bedroom (And a ceiling fan!). AC/Heat, etc. Looking for a graduate student, professional, or a responsible roommate for May, June and July. Couples welcome. Male or Female - I'm a guy, but rarely home due to work and hobbies. I'm also fun, funny, pretty quiet, respectful, clean, yada yada. Roommate needs to be clean, no smoking, and no pets, sorry... Living room, kitchen, etc is fully furnished, however you would need to furnish the bedroom. Also, there's lots of parking and our neighborhood doesn't tow. The Apartment was built two years ago, so it is nice and new. It is less than one mile from campus, out Reservoir St. Rent is $390 per month + splitting utilities. Utilites (total) are: Electricity averages $70 a month, Internet is free, television is $20/month, and water is $15/month.) My work number is (540) 437-3737, cell is (540) 421-0200. Ask for Peter. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see the place. Thanks!

Ok, read and tell me what to do guys...

I just called a place in WV about a transmission. They can sell me the 5-speed transmission I need, with the cables, pulled, for $300. The are also allowing me the T2 turbo (best stock chrysler turbo, good to 30PSI) for $85. This would alow me to sell the mitsu Turbo and the one Rex sold me to try to make some of that back. Does this sound like a good deal? I'm thinking it is because my Grandfather has offered to drive me down to pick it up.

My other option so far is an offer I got on the www.turbododge.com forums for the tranny and cables shipped from michigan for $360. No turbo.

All Trac Finishes 4th at Pro Rally in Oregon
Posted by: Jvimpty - 04-28-2005, 02:04 PM - Forum: Events - Replies (5)

Quantum Rallysport Survives Tough Weekend
Quantum Rallysport driver Eric Langbein and co-driver Jeremy Wimpey struggled through the second round of the Rally America Championship, the Oregon Trail Pro Rally. The pair battled car troubles and the stiffest competition theyÔÇÖd ever faced to finish just off the podium (4th in PGT, 12th Overall) at the three day event based out of Portland, Oregon.
FridayÔÇÖs super special stages started with an unfortunate tire choice that cost the team some time. ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖd heard that this rally was hard on tires, so we wanted to save our new gravel tires for later in the weekend, but in hindsight, the loss in pace on FridayÔÇÖs stages was not worth itÔÇØ said Langbein.
Saturday the Rally took teams to the terrific roads in the Tillamook Forest West of Hillsboro. Rain helped to keep the dust down for competitors, as the Quantum Rallysport Team tried to make up for time lost Friday evening. The pair managed to pick up the pace, despite a gearbox that was starting to be uncooperative. On the last stage of the day Eric caught a slower car on stage, and the slower car would not pull over so a safe pass could be made.
On Sunday QuantumÔÇÖs crew had a chance to shine. The teamÔÇÖs 1988 Toyota Celica All-trac was prepped and ready to go for the last leg of the event. Unfortunately, on SS 16 a rock became lodged in between the brake caliper and the rear wheel. The wheel was cut in to causing a flat, and a broken brake line. The team managed to limp through the remainder of the stage and into service. The crew was impressively able to repair all the damage in a twenty minute service following the stage, allowing Eric and Jeremy to finish the rally, and set some top times in the last three stages. ÔÇ£We just needed some adversity to be thrown our way to really come alive!ÔÇØ said Eric. Jeremy added, ÔÇ£It really felt good to finish this one. WeÔÇÖre competing against much newer equipment, so we really need to be on top of our game to remain competitiveÔÇØ. This fourth place finish allows Quantum Rallysport to maintain their second place standing in the points for the season.
Quantum Rally SportÔÇÖs next event is the Susquehannock Trail Pro Rally in Wellsboro, PA, on June 4.
